Renowned for his portrayal in ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama,’ Omkar Kapoor has recently made his mark in the television drama ‘Aangan Aapno Kaa.’ Entering the series as Dr. Siddhant, potentially pairing with Pallavi (Ayushi Khurana), the Bollywood luminary discussed his foray into diverse genres and his seamless juggle between television and film commitments.
In a conversation with ETimes TV, Omkar Kapoor emphasized the allure of his character in the TV show, highlighting the importance of a compelling storyline. “The character was intricately woven, which was a major draw for me. I prioritize a genuine liking for the character and the narrative,” he expressed. “The show presents a refreshing storyline that transcends the boundaries between various entertainment platforms. I aim to capture diverse audiences and touch as many hearts as possible. My endeavor solely lies in that.”
Expressing his aspirations regarding future roles, Omkar shared, “Through ‘Aangan,’ I’ve delved into the realm of television and its shooting dynamics. While my heart truly belongs to films due to my extensive experience since childhood, I aspire to take on roles that showcase my abilities and skills diversely. I yearn to explore different genres and establish a rich portfolio without being typecast.”
Reflecting on his cherished memories from his early acting days, Omkar fondly recalled, “My childhood was incredibly special, a time filled with unique experiences on sets while balancing studies simultaneously. Working alongside eminent stars like Salman Khan, Govinda, Karisma Kapoor, and Twinkle Khanna was immensely enlightening. I imbibed a lot from them during my formative years. Those interactions were truly impactful.”
When asked about alternative career paths, Omkar firmly stated, “Acting is an inherent passion for me. I relish it and feel a deep connection with my audience, which keeps me devoted. I never contemplated a shift in my career.”
Recounting the hurdles faced early in his entertainment career, he mentioned, “My debut in ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2’ reignited the audience’s recognition, leveraging the goodwill I had established from my childhood roles. However, I had to rebuild my value as an actor after a prolonged hiatus. It was a phase of auditions and perseverance that spanned over 4-5 years post my graduation.”
Regarding his inclination towards reality shows, Omkar clarified, “Personally, I’m not inclined towards reality shows. They don’t captivate my interest, although I wouldn’t rule it out completely.”
