~FIRST KISS~
NEXT DAY MORNING
Swara touched the bell and moved it slightly making noise and then closed her eyes praying to god. She walked inside the temple and joined her hands in front of the god’s idol. She closed her eyes,
“shekhar uncle was killed by bhavendhar uncle!”
“you are my friend!”

Tears brimmed in her closed eyes as she remembered the recent events. Sanskar being a police, knowing the truth behind her papa’s death, the series of unfolding events have made her stand in such a position, where she can’t understand anything. Should she be hurt because of the disparture of her father? Be sad about her mom’s reaction, when she will come to know about this? Or for which she had always cried her whole life….that he didn’t love her… her tears travel down her closed eyes, she joined her hands more tight as all these pain killed her. “beta!” swara opened her eyes hearing the voice and saw a priest handing a prasad to her. She got it from him. “you are sad!” swara looked at him, anyone can say that seeing her, she was vulnerable. “god will always help us beta! Don’t worry!” he said and walked away giving blessings to her. Swara looked back at him and then turned front to the god, “I had always believed god!” she whispered as few more tears flowed from her eyes. She closed her eyes praying again, she opened her eyes and then plucked a little piece from the sweet that was given as Prasad to her. She was about to eat when a voice startled her, “you are having it without me devil!” suddenly a smile curved on her lips even with those extreme hurt and endless tears. She turned back and her smile grew wider seeing him. sanskar came to her and took a little Prasad and had it. He looked at her still smiling at him with tears. He wiped her tears on her right cheek and when his hands reached her left cheek, she suddenly moved back stopping him from doing it.

She looked down, how do he manage to look as if nothing happened, she walked past him. “you said, you can’t punish me!” swara stopped hearing him. she turned to him confused as he continued, “but now you are punishing me!” she gets shocked hearing him. “what did I do?” she asked. “you are avoiding me!” sanskar said and then came near HIS DEVIL. “do you remember, you came to my home before coming to Patna?” swara remembered the horrible day when she got his rejection again, when he didn’t spoke a word with her. How can she ever forget that? She just nodded her head in a yes hardly controlling her pain and anger! “that day, you said that my ignorance…hu…hurts you!” he stammered not wanting to say the exact word she said, god! He himself had got in trouble, he should have not started the conversation like this! “I guess, the word ‘hurt’ should be replaced by…” she started only to leave it incomplete as he interrupted her. “swara!” listening his angry and ordering voice, she just looked at him with straight eyes not caring about the tears that were flowing. Sanskar closed his eyes as he remembered that day when she hugged him from back and cried and cried, that hurted him. “your ignorance is killing me!” her pain filled choking voice still echoing in his ears as guilt engulfed him once again remembering how he hurted her by ignoring her.

He opened his eyes only to discover his vision blur with tears. “if my ignorance hurts you, your ignorance will also hurt me na swara?” she gets shocked seeing him crying and arguing with her exactly like she does with him! she stared in his eyes, there was a mixture of pain and guilt in it. She wiped his tears even without her knowledge. She never knew when her hands reached his cheeks, but she just can’t see him crying. She then wiped her tears and said, “I am not avoiding you sanskar! I am just very confused, I just want to be alone for sometime!” she said assuring him and maybe herself too! He went more close to her and said, “I can’t let you be alone! I promised to be with you…” swara looked at him,
“always…” she widened her eyes as he completed her sentence.
“always be with me and I will always smile!”
“I will always be with you!”
“promise?”
“promise!”
She remembered the promise he gave to her by her wish in the railway station of Patna. Tears form in her eyes again, it is difficult for her too, if he fails in his promise! She looks at him smiling at her with teary eyes. She immediately turned away from him and ran as fast as she can…
Tears rolled down his eyes and his smile faded as she ran away. He closed his eyes tightly feeling his everything getting shattered. He remembered his conversation with ragini the last night.
FLASHBACK
Sanskar was surprised to see ragini standing at the door of his room at such a late hour. “ragini?” he asked. She walked inside the room, “sanskar! I want to tell you something!” sanskar nodded gesturing her to continue. “I can’t thank you enough for what you have did for papa! But sanskar, shona is very much affected by all this..she is just very confused! It will be better, if you just leave her alone for sometime!” she paused as he looked at her keenly. “don’t talk to her!” she said and turned away from him, she marched till the entrance when he stopped her, “no ragini! I just can’t avoid her even if she wants to!” ragini turns to him. “it will just hurt her and…” he looked down as he whispered, “and me too..” he failed to see the smile forming on ragini’s lips. “I have to sort out the problems!” he said and ran immediately to swara’s room.. again not noticing ragini’s smile that got wider…
SWARA’S ROOM
Sanskar opened the door of her room still crying. He saw her sleeping with tired and pale face. He cried more seeing her like that. He went near her and knelt down near the bed, he moved the stroke of hair from her face. “my innocent devil!” he whispered. He holded her palm and said, “you mean a lot to me! I am sorry for everything!” few more tears rolled down his eyes. He was at loss of words, ‘sorry’ will be a very small word, but he has nothing more than that to say to her that will free him from the guilt. He has always just hurted her.. “I will try my best to be the reason for your happiness here after”. He said and wiped his tears, he tried to release the grip of his hand that was holded very tight by her. He smiled as he remembered their very first meet when she holded his finger tightly with her tiny palm. He tried to take his hand from her but she was not leaving it, he sighed and sat on the floor comfortably and then kept his head on the bed closing his eyes. He didn’t tried to know, how his sleep was so much peaceful even on a floor by holding her hand…

MORNING 4.00 AM
Sanskar wake up startled hearing the alarm, he immediately offed it. He looked towards swara, she was very tired and that was the reason that this alarm didn’t disturbed her. Suddenly a thought came to his mind, a smile appeared on his lips. So she uses this alarm to get up and then irritate him!
“sanskar! I am not getting sleep!”
He remembered her most frequently used words that she use to wake him up and irritate him. his smile grew wider, he looked at his hand, her grip was lose now but she was still holding it. He released his hand from her grip and then walked out of the room before glancing her angelic face, a last time…
FLASHBACK ENDS

Sanskar wiped his tears, he had to cheer swara! After giving hope and strength to himself, he started to walk and search for her with a hope that she has still not left the temple. He saw her sitting on stairs of the temple looking at the river of the temple with tears, suddenly his eyes fell on something and he smiled…

Sometimes, it is very hard to take any decision. She loves him…she loves him like anything.. but he doesn’t love her, and every time when this bitter truth strikes her, she feels like she is fading into a deep pit of darkness, pain and miseries. She suddenly closes her eyes feeling something on her cheeks that came with a force and then came an excited and loud voice, “happy holi!” she opened her eyes still scared at the speediness of the moment and was then astonished seeing sanskar. he laughed and sat near her, “you remember, how we always used to fight during holis that who is not going to get coloured the more?” swara smiled as she remembered their silly fights, they had so many memories in which she will spend her whole life to tell someone about all their moments. “and I am sure, this time also, you would have coloured me with your favourite colour!” she said sarcastically and touched her cheeks, she saw her hand and was surprised seeing pink colour instead of blue that was his favourite! Sanskar smiled and said, “this time, I have applied your favourite colour!” swara looked at him, sanskar holded her hand, “come let’s play holi!” she laughed at his exciting voice and ran with him holding his hand. As he took her outside the temple, where all were playing holi.
“we will leave after neha’s wedding!”
Suddenly, her ragini di’s words echoed in her ears, she looked at him, he looked very happy. Should she just forgive him and stay with him.
“you are my friend!”
She remembered his words, Should she stick to her words for the pain he gave her?…

“what are you thinking?” he asked seeing her thinking something deeply. She smiled and nodded no to him. “you are not playing with me!” she smiled seeing him whining. She took some colours and started playing with him. A waiter was offering butter milk to everyone. Sanskar took a glass from his plate, swara was already playing with few kids. She saw him drinking it and said, “arey! For me?” sanskar chuckled, “go and get it!” saying this, he starts drinking again. Swara stamped her foot in anger and went and took two glasses, she had it in front of sanskar! soon, they both started fighting that who will drink more butter milk unaware that bhang was mixed in it!

AFTER SOME TIME
“devil!” sanskar said, but swara slapped on his shoulder. He looked at her shocked, “what? You should not call me devil! I don’t care if you are a police!” she said almost shouting. Sanskar closed her mouth with his hand and said, “shh! No one should know that I am a police! Ok?” swara showed a thumbs up to him and smiled cutely. She heard music and said, “sanskar! come, we will dance!” she dragged him there where everyone was dancing, as he drank more, he was walking drowsily, even she was unsteady. They both started dancing, she suddenly stopped dancing and looked at him, she remembered the first time, she danced with him in Mica’s birthday party. She touched his face, he stopped dancing and looked at her while she continued to admire him. he raised both his eyebrows gesturing her cutely a ‘what?’ she smiled and pinched his cheek, “you look so cute!” she said excitedly and fell on his shoulder. “arey swara! You told, you want to dance!” he said complaining holding her arms. “my legs are paining!” she said closing her eyes and resting herself more on his shoulder. “then shall we go?” he asked. “hmm” she hummed in response hugging him. sanskar tried to break the hug, she shouted, “no! you lift me and take me na!” she said and hugged him more tight. Sanskar sighed and lifted her by bridal style. He walked slowly, he blinked his eyes as nothing seemed clear to him. he finally managed to walk till car with swara while she was just hugging him. he opened his car and placed her on the back seat. He turned to go but she holded his hand, “where are you going?” she asked. “to play holi!” he answered and tried to take her hand from his hand. She closed the door stopping him from going outside. “no! no! no! don’t go anywhere! Stay with me!” she said and placed her head on his chest hugging him tight. Sanskar rested his head back and closed his eyes drowsily. He holds his head, swara took her head from chest and pinched his cheek, “you look so cute!” she said again, sanskar smiled hearing her.

Swara too smiled, his smile has always made her happy, it had always intoxicated her. She moves closer to him and shiveringly placed her lips on his lips. She smiled against his lips before kissing him. extreme happiness and some sort of magic engulfed her. She pulled back after sometime, a very small and sweet kiss, but that was enough to make her feel the heaven. She smiled at him with tears caressing his cheeks, he had his eyes half open drowsily. Swara too starts to feel her vision getting blurred. She hugged him and whispered, “I love you!” she tightened her grip nuzzling herself in his chest more. “I LOVE YOU TOO!” he whispered not even knowing what he said, it just escaped his lips even without his knowledge. His head starts paining more and he closed his eyes completely falling in a deep sleep. Swara smiled unaware of his whisper that was his deep feeling for which they both were unaware, which was left UNREALIZED! The four words, for which she has always earned was now said by him, but she was unable to hear it. The game of destiny! And those were not understood by him too. She felt so peaceful in his embrace and soon sleep engulfed her….
