Thank you everyone for enjoying my previous part. I hope you like this one as well!
Part 12

Present time (7 months after the court hearing)

Shivay’s POV

“No, No, please leave me. Please! Please! PPLEEASE!” I wake up with a sudden jerk when I hear Anika’s scream. I quickly get up and pull her into my arms to calm her down. “Shhh…Anika…shhh I’ve got you. I’ve got you. Shhh,” I whisper into her ears as I hold her in my arms. Her breathing starts to slow down she lets out one final whimper before falling asleep in my arms.

It’s been 2 months since the kidnapping, and everything has been going great, well as great it can be. In the beginning she was still the same Anika, ignoring me and staying away from me, but as time went on she continued to ignore me but didn’t go out of her way to avoid me. If she was in a room and I went it or vice-versa, she didn’t leave making an excuse, she didn’t talk to me, but at least she was able to stay in my presence. While the days were good to her, the nights were another story. In the beginning the nightmares were constant, every night I would wake up to her screaming at Daksh to let her go, but after a while it became less and less and now it’s only when the day was stressful for her that she will have a nightmare. I should have known this was going to happen, what with Tia and mom constantly talking about it today, I have no idea what is going on in their minds, especially to talk about this horrendous incident so callously.

I look down to see Anika, and wonder how all this feels so natural now a days. When we first got home from the hospital she insisted on moving back to the guest house, but I refused to even look into that option. I took her to my room and placed her on my bed and told her that she wasn’t going anywhere and that this was her room too now. I didn’t care what she thought or what she wanted to do, I forcefully moved her into my room where she’s been staying ever since.

She would sleep on the couch like before, but then during the night she will have a nightmare causing her to wake up screaming. At first I would run over to her and hold her in my arms as she clutched to me crying. Then as days went on I would carry her over to the bed and hold her in my arms, only to wake up in the morning with her in my arms. I didn’t know what was going on between us, but I did know that waking up with her in my arms only made my mornings. Because I woke up before she did, I would always leave the bed and room before she woke up to see us in that position, but one morning, I woke up to see her already up and dressed and realized that she must have seen how we were sleeping. I didn’t know how she felt about it, but honestly I didn’t care, if she had another nightmare that night I would take her with me to bed, and if I had it my way I would make her share the bed with me, but let’s take baby steps with that one. But my wish came true some days later, due to a loud thunderstorm. The look in her eyes made me want to laugh, but things were getting better between us that I didn’t want to do anything to compromise it. I noticed her sitting up on the couch and looking everywhere, I wanted to ask her if she was afraid, but instead, I called out to her and patted the bed next to me. I thought she would refuse, but she came running and jumped into bed with me. I wanted to laugh out loud, because she looked like a kid at that exact moment, but stopped myself. With one more loud thunder clap she jumped into my arms holding me tight, at this point I did let out a small laugh and she looked at me.

“Why are you laughing at me?” She asked me with a scared voice.

“I didn’t know you were this scared of the storm.” I told her as I pulled her closer to me. I know I was taking advantage of the situation, sue me she is after-all my wife.

“I’m not scared.” She whimpered just as another thunder clapped loudly outside. Honestly I have to say thank you to Mother Nature for being so gracious to me.

“Uh-ha, I believe you.” I told her as I laid us both down, while still holding her. She kept her eyes on me as I too looked at her, “sleep, I’ve got you.” I told her as we both closed our eyes. I was ecstatic that she spoke to me, but I didn’t want to tell her that she spoke to me, in case she moved away. I could feel her jump when the thunder clapped again. I didn’t say anything instead I pulled her tightly into my arms, caressing her, she snuggled into my arms molding herself into me, it felt right, perfect even. Since that day onwards, I don’t know if there was a mutual-silent agreement between us, but that was now our sleeping arrangement, holding onto each other as we slept.

As days turned into weeks, and months, our relationship started to get better. While she didn’t go out of her way to speak to me or be in my presence, she did so if she did have to talk to me. She didn’t use OmRu, Priyanka, Sowmya, Dadi or Badi-ma to get her message to me, instead she would find me herself to talk to me. If I didn’t realize it before, I did now, I needed Anika in my life. I needed her to be with me at all times and talk to me. I think I’m starting to fall in love with her, Shivay Singh Oberoi is falling in love with Anika Shivay Singh Oberoi.
