Principal Mr. Young tells Subhash that he has to prove that he is a meritorious student by winning in both academics and sports against Charles. Sarath says it is injustice as Subhash is weak and cannot run. Principal says there is no excuse. Richardson says he is sure his son Charles will win against weak Indian and will prove that British are always superior. Janakinath takes Subhash and Sarath from there. Subhash thinks he has to prove that Indians are not weak.
Aurobindo, Barin walk into Ananth’s room and find him missing. Barin goes to search him. Aurobindo’s sister says food is ready and asks where is Ananth. Aurobindo says he left and doesn’t understand that Kranti should be performed with conscience and there is no room for any mistake, Ananth’s rash decision will get them into trouble.
Subhash tells his elder brothers and Rono that he accepted challenge and will win at any cost and prove that Indians are not weak. Prabha walks in and says he will win for sure if he practices, she and his baba doesn’t want any of their sons to bend their heads. Janakinath informing his elder brother/tauji about Principal’s decision and whole incident, says Subhash did right and is adamant like tauji who came from their village to Cuttack and established his base here. Tauji says Subhash’s adamancy is different than his adamancy, Subhash went against British which is a sin. He asks Sarath why didn’t he control Subash. Sarath says he would have, but was helpless. Tauji says Subhash will be punished as British doesn’t spare anyone, all swadesis in maithri sabha are punished except one who eloped and will be caught and punished soon. Anupama hears that and worried for Ananth prays god to protect him. Janakinath says he is surprised how can a well cultured clan which brought education and progress in India behave like this, Mr. Young was under Richardson’s pressure but did justice. He asks Satish if this kind of issue happens in his college. Satish says yes and they be ar it as British are superior. Sarath says they should stand for justice. Anu thinks why Sarath is speaking like us, if he is also a swadesi. Tauji scolds Sarath to mind his tongue and concentrate on his studies.
Aurobindo asks Barin and others to search Ananth and make sure he doesn’t make any mistake, also to contact Anu. Anu at night waits for Ananth at their decided venue hoping he will come there. Someone throws a letter on her which in a puzzled way reveals that Ananth is missing and their Kranti mission is in danger. She gets more worried and decides to visit samithi.
Next morning, Subhi wakes up early and leaves house silently without informing anyone to practice running. He runs reminiscing Charles insulting words and falls down. Sarath notices him and asks to return home, but Subhi says he will run and not accept defeat. He notices Anu passing by and thinks where is she going early morning. At home, Prabha scolds servants for not noticing Subhash leaving home. Sarath returns home with injured Subhash. Prabha sensing the situation asks why did he fall and injure himself. Subhash says if he doesn’t run and fall, how will he become strong and win.
Precap: Charles taunts Subhi that he can’t win. Subhash says he will fall repeatedly but will run and win. He runs on ground and falls down. Sarath says he will get up and run again.
