Ananth ties rakhi to Subhash/Subi and says this rakhi signifies unity and they have to tie it to their friends and fellow Indians and prove Britishers that they are all one. Subi asks if Abdul chacha will not go away from them. They hear Arvind Ghosh’s speech, and Subi asks who he. Ananth says Arvind Ghosh and asks him to go home He sees police coming and asks his friend to take Subi from here. Friend takes Subi away. Ananth then asks Arvind to go away from here. Arvind says he will not go as he is fighting against Britishers. Ananth says he is their idol and hope and should leave before police reaches him. Another swadesi also insists Arvind to leave from here and boat is ready for him. Arvind asks Ananth to continue his agitation against British and never back off,
British officers check passenger’s belongings. Anupama waits standing in que. Officer finds medicine in a passenger’s bag and saying its poison breaks it while passenger pleads not to break medicine bottle as he got it with great difficulty from Kolkota and his wife needs it for fever. Anupama confronts Britisher. Officer ask who is she and come in front. Anupama gets tensed and says she is from Kolkota and is going to her brother-in-law/jamai babu’s house. Officer asks who is her jamai. She says famous advocate Jankinath Basu. Officer says she can go. Senior officer enters and stops her. Hee asks her to give her book. She gets tensed thinking if she is caught, her sister and BIL will get into trouble. Officer asks if she is caught, if she will go to her in-laws or BIL’s house. He checks each page of book carefully. Anupama gets tensed thinking she will be caught if he opens more pages. Just then, junior officer informs that Swadesis are creating havoc in mela maidan. Officer returns book to Anupama and walks away saying he will not spare Swadesis.
Subi asks Ananth that he will not back off as Charles thinks Indians are coward. Ananth addresses swadesis that they will fight against Britishers with things around them like sand, utensils, etc. He burns British made clothes and goods saying they will prove Britishers they are united and not coward. They all chant Vande Mataram.
At Subhash’s home, his mother and other family ladies get worried for him. His mother asks Sameer why did he go to Mela maidan where swadesis are gathering. Choti maa says Subhash is a calm boy, he must have gone by mistake. Sister says Subhash is a mischievous boy, he always helps poor and wastes money. Mother says her father taught Subhash to help poor. Uncle enters and mother informs that Subhash went to Mela maidan and she is worried for him.
Anupama reaches decided venue and searches for Ananth, but doesn’t find him there. She reaches mela maidan and finds Britishers attacking Swadesis with batons/lathis. Abdul and Marmo babu reach near mela maidan in chariot. Abdul goes to search Subi and finds him stuck and Britisher heading toward him to hit him. He rescues Subi, but bear a blow on his forehead. Subi shouts Abdul chacha. Attack continues till evening. Abdul tells Subi that he cannot walk as he is feeling drowsy and falls down. Subi gets worried and seeing a horseman heading towards him throws sand on him.
