Neerja is playing with the other children. They decide to get some puchka to eat, but they quickly run away when they notice a suspicious person watching them. Neerja hurries back home. Didun asks Neerja what she saw at the Durga Puja pandal. Neerja excitedly describes everything, especially the beautiful Durga pratima. Pratima is informed that Neerja is being watched by someone bad. This angers Pratima, who scolds Neerja for going outside while looking so nice.
However, Didun appreciates Neerja’s appearance and teases her playfully about her beauty. Didun then takes Neerja to her room and searches for something. Neerja promises herself that she won’t use any makeup from now on. But Pratima doesn’t want to take any risks and decides to cut Neerja’s long hair with sharp scissors. Neerja starts crying as she sees her short and rough hair. She rushes to Didun to show her how ugly she looks. Shyamli knocks on the door and asks Neerja to open it. Shyamli urges Pratima to accept something.
Neerja runs to Didun and shows her how her mother has cut all her hair. Neerja promises to follow Didun’s advice. Pratima becomes very scared, unable to even imagine what might happen in the future. Neerja complains to Didun about her mother, and Didun tries to console her by offering some delicious kulfi. Didun puts a little bit of lipstick on Neerja’s lips, making her look nice.
Didun thinks to herself that in twelve years, Neerja will be the queen of their street. But Pratima has a different dream for her daughter, wanting her to be known for her achievements rather than just her birth. Neerja notices a wound on Pratima’s hand and quickly runs to get some medicine. She truly cares about her mother. Some reporters come to take pictures of Didun.
Didun confidently displays her beauty and charm to the reporters. Neerja can’t find any medicine, so she asks the reporters for help and bandages her mother’s wound. Everyone is delighted to see Neerja’s caring nature. The reporters ask Neerja for her name and the school she attends. She shares her name but doesn’t mention any school since she isn’t studying anywhere.
The other reporters suggest to Pratima that she should send Neerja to school. Pratima expresses gratitude to God for showing her a way to raise her child. She goes to Didun and asks for help in sending her daughter to school. Didun gives Pratima a generous amount of money, and Pratima has to sign a paper.
Pratima takes Neerja to a school where she wants to enroll her. The principal asks Pratima some questions, and Neerja answers them nicely. However, Pratima struggles to provide the name of Neerja’s father on the form. When the principal learns Pratima’s address, he insults her. Neerja is asked to wait outside but instead enters a classroom where students are celebrating a classmate’s birthday. Spotting the principal, Neerja rushes to him and pleads to be admitted to the school. Impressed by her bravery, the principal finally agrees to admit her.
Precap: Neerja happily announces to everyone that she has been admitted to school. Later in the evening, she questions Pratima about why she isn’t allowed to go outside. Pratima tells her a story, but Neerja’s curiosity gets the better of her, and she goes outside at night. To her surprise, she spots her mother wearing a lot of makeup.
