Nayi Mohabbatein, Nayi Saffar! Episode 2 – Written by Akiatta

First off, thank you so much for all the lovely people who have commented on the first chapter. You support has been insanely helpful. Now, one of the main reasons I am writing this fanfiction is to have a chance at practicing. Hopefully, if things go right, I might even have a minor chance to write an actual TV show. Fingers Crossed.
Until then, I really hope that I entertain you all with my stories. I have more and more Ideas coming to me each day and with all your love, I will surely ensure that I don’t disappoint you.
Also, Quick note, for anyone who wasn’t clear about the previous episode ending, the basic concept is that Raman and Roshni has an accident and they both lose their memories while the whole Bhalla family thinks they are dead. Now, what happens after this, forms the story. ?

Episode 2
Delhi, Some Paternity Hospital,
Adi was sitting in the corridor as he tapped his feet, highly irritated. He and Aliya came in today to have her regular check-up and each time he was in that ward, he felt weird.
As he sat there, waiting anxiously, Aliya walked out of the examination room, using a tissue to wipe some of the cream on her abdomen discreetly.
Aliya: Adi, let’s go.
Adi looked up and got on his feet. He looked at Aliya who had a sweet smile. Unlike Adi, Aliya actually loved the fact that, in about nine months, she would be a mother.
Adi gulped down the small lump on his throat as he avoided looking in her eyes. He simply nodded and reached for her hand, slowly walking out of the place, reaching the exit.
Aliya: Adi, we need to talk.
Her tone was serious. Adi looked confused as he wasn’t sure if this would be a good and sweet conversation, or the one which would lead to a huge fight. He thought about it and began answering.
Adi: There… There is a coffee shop nearby…
His mind was hoping that she would say yes. After all, a coffee place would the safest place for him to be, even if they broke into a fight.
Aliya, on the contrary, smirked with a shy look and responded.
Aliya: I was hoping maybe somewhere private… How about we go to the beach?
Adi’s worried look faded as he felt better. While he did feel insanely scared about Aliya’s pregnancy, he did know that Aliya would be having lot of mood swings. Maybe after all the separated time, they could finally have a romantic moment?
Adi had an excited look as he replied.
Adi: Of course… Right this way.
Adi led her to the car and within matter of minutes, the two were by the Mumbai shoreline, holding hands, looking at the beautiful sunset happening.

At this moment, Adi had forgotten about all his worries. Until Aliya said this.
Aliya: I know you are scared.
Adi: I… I…
Adi didn’t have a response. But, oddly, Aliya simply smiled and continued.
Aliya: I am scared too.
Adi looked shocked.
Adi: You are scared too!? But… But… Of what?
Aliya: Well, I am scared that, maybe this kid would only like her dad, not her mom.
Aliya said with a playful smile.
Adi couldn’t help but laugh. He then replied.
Adi: You think it’s a girl?
Aliya: I don’t know… But, I kinda feel like you would like a girl.
Adi’s smile widened. At that moment, Adi wondered, ‘How can my Madrasan know all my deep thoughts without me even telling her?’ He replied to her.
Adi: I always wanted to have a girl. A girl…
Adi and Aliya together: A girl like Ishima.
Adi and Aliya looked into each other’s eyes and laughed. Adi moved closer to her, connecting his forehead with hers.
Adi: You know, ever since I had the thought of marrying you… I always wanted that… Our first kid.
Aliya: Wait, you mean, we will have more kids?
Aliya replied, having a shocked expression. But, deep down, she did want to have more than one.
Adi looked a bit scared as he said
Adi: Only if you want to…
Aliya laughed as she gripped his hand softly.
Aliya: Patidev, I am just joking… Of course I want more kids. I want our family to be filled with the bundles of joy… Anyway, you were saying.

Adi had a bit of a tear in his eye. He looked at her, feeling that he could literally give his life for this woman. He sported a smile and continued
Adi: Well… As I was saying, I always wanted that our first kid, would be a girl. Then a boy.
Aliya laughed and began replying.
Aliya: Okay… That’s really nice to know. Now, I have told you my reason for being scared. Now, it’s your turn.
Adi paused as his smile faded. He wasn’t sure if he can get away without answering this question. But, at that moment, he made his mind and began.
Adi: I… If you think about it… Papa died thinking that… He died thinking that Ruhi hated her. And to an extent, she still hates her. I am just scared that, if I love this kid and maybe, someday try to do something good for her and she hates me, I don’t know if I would be as strong as Papa was to see her hate me.
Aliya took all that in. Her eye had a tear as she remembered Raman. Many didn’t know this, but after Adi-Aliya marriage, Raman and Aliya kinda had this bonding. Somehow, he was actually the best papa she could have asked for.
She leaned over to his shoulder as both of them had tears in their eyes. Aliya rested her head over Adi’s shoulder and began.
Aliya: Adi… I know for a fact that… Our daughter… Or our son would never hate you… You know why? Because, they will always know that their Mama Papa will only do things that is good for them. We will teach them to be mature, more mature than we ever where. And… Think about it, they will have Amma as their Dadi. That itself says how much good our kids would be…
Adi turned to her and looked into her eyes. At that moment, everything was clear. All his fears, all his worries, vanished. For a moment, in front of his eyes flashed a visual. A visual where he and Aliya are playing with the kids peacefully. One image where the kids, a bit grown up, are being taught by their dadi. For that one second, he saw a whole beautiful life in his eyes.
At that moment, Adi smile and replied.
Adi: Quick question, if I call her ‘Ishima’, then what would our kids call her?
Aliya sat up, laughing as they were still close to each other. Everything looking clear in their eyes as she replied.
Aliya: I think we would know when our daughter creates a name…

Next day, Chennai,
Location One – Saravanan Household
The rustling street is all up at the time of 4:30. Rickshaws and autos are navigating their way through the city as people.
We see the door of the house in the street open as a man in a lungi and a half shirt walking out, a jute bag in his hands. He walks over to the local grocery shop across the street.
The Shopkeeper: Arjun, what took you so much time? Usually you come at 3 itself?
Arjun, the man in the lungi (Raman without the memories, living as Chennai Local, Arjun.) laughed as he picked the milk packets and placed it in the bag as he replied.
Arjun: Anna, what would I say? You know Mythili, she came back only at 12:30 after watching a movie with her friends.
The shopkeeper looked at him and replied.
Shopkeeper: At midnight… Arjun brother, she is a girl. Why are you letting her out at the night?
Arjun simply smiled and replied.
Arjun: Anna… My girl is no less to a boy. She is an IPS graduate. And some day, she will get posting in some big city. Can you tell me any boy who know who has even tried to be a constable?
Shopkeeper laughed and responded.
Shopkeeper: Okay, I accept defeat. Your daughter is a one woman army. But… You have to realise Arjun… Whether IPS or not, someday, she is going to need to learn how to do house work. I mean, she can’t be always alone, can she?
Arjun picked some tomatoes and placed it on the scale just as he replied.
Arjun: Muthu Anna… Times have changed. Nowadays, women rule the whole world. And I am sure. I know for a fact that, someday, she will make me proud. Now… I need 30 eggs.
Shopkeeper: 30 eggs?! But, you bought 20 just three days ago?
Arjun: Anna… Don’t put an eye on my baby girl’s food.
Arjun, with that, picked up his pags and said something before leaving.
Arjun: Send all the stuff to home. And add it to my account. Money is tight this month.
Shopkeeper: Honestly, I don’t know how you manage to even afford all this food when you yourself is just a cook in a local restaurant.
Arjun: Well, once my daughter gets her job confirmed, I won’t even have to work. I will relax calmly. After all, I have my daughter to take care of me.

With that, Arjun walked back across the road, going into his house. With the bags he had taken, he moved to the kitchen, preparing the milk.
Once done, he moved with the milk to the single bedroom, where a 23 something girl, was working out in the room, doing her exercises (Roshini, being a strong South Indian girl, having forgotten her past.)
Arjun: Kanna… Here’s your shake.
Mythili stopped as she stood on her feet, taking the tray off Arjun’s hand, placing it on the table as she said.
Mythili: Appa, you should have slept more.
Arjun: Adda… How can I sleep? Today is your first day for the field training. In six months, you will qualify for your own position. How can be sleeping in such a huge moment for you.
Mythili smiled and nodded. She did feel a slight pain at the back of her head at that moment.
Arjun panicked as he rushed closer to her, holding her head as he asked.
Arjun: Aiyyoo! You didn’t take your tablets?
As far as Arjun and Mythili remember, they met with an accident when the two went to Delhi for Mythili to appear in an examination. Although the doctors did say that they had a bit of a memory issue, they seemed to have not had any issue. Except for the occasional head pains.
Mythili: Appa, relax… It’s just… I had something to drink last night and…
Arjun’s face looked shocked.
Mythili held her ears as she slight went down in her height.
Mythili: Sorry…
Arjun sighed as he took the milk glass and said in a slightly disappointed tone.
Arjun: I will get you Lime Juice…
Without waiting for a response, he walked out of the room. Seeing this, Mythili pleaded as she followed him, asking sorry repeatedly.

Once in the kitchen, Arjun took a lemon and cut it with a knife as he asked.
Arjun: You told me you were going only to the movies.
Mythili: Yeah… Well, the theatre people offered this beer cans and…
Arjun sighed and explained.
Arjun: Mythili, I have nothing against drinking. I don’t drink but I don’t say that you shouldn’t… But, if you did have something like that, you should have informed me at least when I let you in.
Mythili nodded and said.
Mythili: I am sorry. Next time, I won’t disappoint you.
Arjun smiled and reached for the glass, pouring the juice in. He passed it to her and said.
Arjun: Look, You… You are everything that I have in my life. I can’t afford to lose you.
Mythili nodded and reached out for Arjun, hugging him as she said.
Mythili: Don’t worry… It will always be, you and me. Forever…
Location Two – Shobana Venkatesh House,
It was the last day of Ishita’s trip to Chennai. Oddly, she was feeling a different vibe in the city. As if she has something valuable left here. As Ishita was in her guest room, packing her bags, she heard the sound of someone knocking on the door.
Ishita, knowing that Shobana aunty would have gone to temple, walked out of her room, going for the door. As she opened the door, she saw that there was no one.
Shrugging, she turned around and went back into the house when someone from behind covered her eyes.
Ishita: Who… Who is this?
The man’s voice spoke: Guess who!
Ishita thought about it as she tried to remember the voice. Then, it struck her.
Ishita: Nirvan?
Ishita turned around as she saw Nirvan. Aliya’s brother.
Nirvan: Amma!
Nirvan leaped into a hug as Ishita sported a smile, hugging him back too.
Ishita moved back after a while as the two walked in. Ishita then asked.
Ishita: I haven’t seen you in…
Nirvan: 5 years. Especially since Aliya got married to Adi… God, you know how much I missed you?
Ishita laughed, trying to not put his excitement down as she asked.
Ishita: You are the one who barely calls home. I mean, you had me convince Mani to allow you to go on your own. But…
Nirvan: I know… I am sorry. But, now I am here.
Ishita placed a hand over his head as she asked him.
Ishita: How is everything? And, by the way, why the sudden visit?
Nirvan thought about a response and sighed. He moved closer and began.
Nirvan: Well, I have nothing to hide from you… I came here two years ago. I told Patti to not tell anyone. She did tell me everything that happened and… I didn’t want to add to the issues… Well, now, it’s all sorted.
Ishita thinks about it and nods.
Nirvan: I actually needed Patti’s help…
Ishita: What kind of help?
Nirvan scratched the back of his head.
Nirvan: Well, there is this girl. She is from here only… I was hoping if I could have Patti talk to her dad.
Ishita smirked as she elbowed him and said.
Ishita: My god. You have grown so much. Come to think of it, you must be of Ruhi’s age only…
The thought of Ruhi chocked her throat.
Ishita: As… As I was saying. You have grown up a lot… Tell me, what’s the girl’s name?
Nirvan blushed as he had a grin.
Nirvan: Her name is Mythili…
