National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) demands removal of inappropriate episode from ‘Super Dancer Chapter 3’
The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) recently addressed a letter to Shaeesta Naqvi, the Grievance Officer of a channel, urging them to take down a particular episode of the popular dance reality show ‘Super Dancer Chapter 3’. In the said episode, judges allegedly posed “vulgar & s*xually explicit” questions to a minor contestant about his parents on stage.
Expressing concern over the inappropriate content, the NCPCR deemed it necessary to take cognizance under Section 13 (1) (j) of the CPCR Act, 2005, stating that the episode violated provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Moreover, the commission highlighted that the questions posed to the young contestant were not suitable for children and breached their guidelines for child and adolescent participation in the entertainment industry.
The letter called for an explanation from the channel regarding the inclusion of such inappropriate content in a kid’s dance show and urgently requested the removal of the offending episode. Additionally, the NCPCR requested the channel to refrain from streaming such unsuitable content in the future.
The NCPCR Chairperson further emphasized that an Action Taken Report (ATR) must be submitted to the Commission within 7 days of receiving the letter. As this issue raises concerns about child protection and appropriate content in media, it has garnered attention and awaits the channel’s response to the commission’s demands.

Such dance shows are exploitations of children, that they didnt “see” from so many seasons?
