Naagin and Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna are two of the popular shows on Indian television. And both of these shows revolve around revenge.
Naagin has been a successful franchise due to its concept. Stories revolving around ichchadhari naagins have always intrigued Indian viewers right from the old days when movies with the same were made and they went on to break the box office records. Naagin, the show, which is a tale of love and revenge, has stuck to similar storylines in all four seasons, which has turned out to be their formula for success. The four seasons of Naagin traced the lives of four ichchadhari naagins – Shivanya (Mouni Roy), Shivangi (Mouni Roy), Bela (Surbhi Joyti) and Brinda (Nia Sharma). The supernatural show based on Indian folklore about shape-shifting snakes comprises all the ingredients of a hit TV show: a large joint family, romance, revenge, unexpected twists and suspense.
On the other hand, Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna was layered on the theme of revenge. Janhvi Mittal and her sister Ishani Mittal (Tina Philip) have had a dreadful childhood, having seen their father being tortured and killed, and their house being burnt to ashes. The patriarch of the Mittal family, Prem Kishan (Ayub Khan) was responsible for this disaster in the girls’ lives hence Jhanvi, who is actually Pooja Sharma, daughter of Dr. Ashok Sharma is on a mission to destroy the Mittals.
