The Episode starts with Armaan fooling Soumy and thinking you will be my shadow now. Sushma invites Malini home for Milni rasam. Malini says we will come. Sushma says I will see that middle class family now. Soumya asks Armaan what did you want in your wife. He says a hot, naughty, glamour girl. She says but I m not such. He compliments Soumya and says I love you. She says I love you too, I feel lucky to get you, thanks for coming in my life. She hugs him. He smiles. Soumya’s family comes in the function.
Mami likes the house and everything. Kashish taunts her. She asks them to have tea. Sushma asks Tara to know that silver cups get hot soon. Kashish asks her to get tea in the cheap steel cups kept for the staff. Tara goes. Kashish asks Malini to make envelopes for them, each having 21000rs. Soumya’s parents get worried. Her dad says its tough for us to get that amount. Sushma and Kashish insult them. Sushma feeds them the sweets.
Armaan’s family welcomes the guests. Simmi and Anita come. Simmi says look at Soumya’s luck, she got Armaan. Anita says I m very happy for Soumya. Kashish sees Mahi eating. She stops her. She asks Mahi to wear dark color clothes, she will look slim. She asks Mahi to go and get Soumya.
Mahi says I don’t care. Armaan comes downstairs. His dad welcomes him. Armaan jokes. They laugh. Armaan goes to meet the guests. Anita says Armaan proved that he does what he says, he is great, he married a middle class girl. His dad smiles hearing this. Soumya hugs her parents. She greets Sushma. Sushma says I got a call. She turns. Malini asks are you happy. Soumya says I m happy. Armaan acts good. She smiles.
Amrik says attention everybody, we had heard about engagement and then marriage, we didn’t hear of a quick marriage, I can’t make this function boring, there will be a special performance by Kashish and Mahi.
Kashish and Mahi dance on Small town girl. They trouble Soumya in the dance. Armaan joins Soumya. Sushma also dances. Armaan’s dad laughs. Sushma acts dancing and hurts Soumya. Mami laughs. Soumya thinks I m overthinking, there is nothing wrong. She smiles. Everyone claps. Amrik asks Armaan and Soumya to dance. Armaan asks Soumya does she not trust her. She says more than myself. They dance on Dil gallan….. They hug.

Sushma asks Soumya to wash Armaan’s feet with milk and then Armaan will feed that milk to Soumya. Soumya refuses to do the meaningless rasam. Armaan gets angry.

SERIOUSLY???????? What kind of show is this???? These stupid rasam I’ve never heard of!!
I don’t what sort of progressiveness they’re trying to show with series like these. There is so much talk of women empowerment and all writers and creators hide behind the word without understanding the true meaning of it. Women do not need to go through tough times to feel empowered and fight back – they’re capable of doing that without all this drama. Every show has been putting women down in some way or the other – the only alright (ish) one was Dhadkan, but even that had its lows and I read somewhere that it was not well received by a lot of people because they thought it lacked drama.
I think shows should be short, 70-75 episodes like Dhadkan and then done. On with the next. This will give creators the kick to push the envelope and come up with better concepts and also allow us to see fresher talent on screen a lot more often. It’ll also give the audiences something to look forward to instead of getting caught up in the pop culture drama and getting influenced/triggered/upset when their favourite characters are being put down.
Above all though – this pseudo women empowerment needs to stop. You need to find better ways of writing stronger women characters instead of reducing them to abla naaris.
This serial is an insult to all women. Seriously, how can anyone treat a woman in such a degrading manner? Such serials send signals to men to treat their wives in the most inhumane way. Please ban such serials.
