Salaam everyone… How are you all?? I thought to post this segment by Friday but was late due to some personal reasons; anyways please ignore typos and grammatical errors… Happy reading… 🙂

After returning from tour our 4 idiots became busy in their studies and of course masti too. It is their final year and everyone was busy in their work to crack the interview of Level 5 companies and bag a job. As Arjun was out of this competition because of his father’s company, he helped Samaira in preparing for her interview. Radhika too was not interested in getting any job because of her dream project helped Neil in the preparation. Both Neil and Sam cracked the interview and bagged the jobs to achieve new heights.
Arjun is preparing not for the final exams but for the ultimate exam that is proposing Radhika for marriage. After their last exam and farewell, Arjun thought to propose to his Sweetheart. He discussed about this proposal with only Sam because Neil is really protective towards his Beetroot, if at all he get to know about this proposal he will definitely break his bones.
All the preparations were done and his Sweetheart arrived too. It’s Samaira’s job to handle Neil at the entrance or else he’s going to spoil the entire plan. Arjun proposed Radhika by going down on knee and offering a ring too. [Note: I’m not romantic as you all know me 😛 so not going into the details 😉 ]
Radhika is crying now. What? Why? Is there a problem? I thought to drag her out of the shell, but she loves me right, then what is the problem to get married. All these thoughts were going on in Arjun’s mind. Meanwhile Neil reached the place, it’s proved to be a Herculean task for Sam to stop him and he being stubborn and protective brother reached there and got to see his Beetroot crying. Without a second late he charged towards Arjun like a raged bull but stopped by Beetroot who held his hand in a firm grip.
Neil understood by all the decorations that Arjun proposed to her. He thought to teach Arjun a good lesson later on. But first he has to handle his Beetroot. When he’s leaving the place with Radhika, Sam stopped them both.
But Radhika you will have to marry him, he loves you so damn much.’ Said Samaira fuming.
I love him too Sam but that doesn’t mean that I’ll have to marry him.’
You will Radhika.’
But why Sam, I didn’t pose any threat to your love life and interfere in your marriage proposal s. Then why are you after me on this topic.’ Asked Radhika with the same tone as Sam’s.
Sam!! You know the pain she has gone through because of marriage. You cannot force her to do this.’ Said Neil.
Sam who heard her name instead of ‘Radish’ or ‘Honey’ was shocked beyond limits. But that’s not the problem now, she can handle him later. First she has to save her soul sister from her fear of marriage. She’s been through so much and losing her love will add more pain to her. And Arjun, he will go mad and crazy without his Sweetheart. So she has to be strong for her and her best buddies. Their friendship is not weak to get shredded into pieces like this. So she did what she can do better, become villain and explain them in her way.
I know Neil. But there is no rule that it has to happen to her again. She should give him a chance.’
First let me complete, she will not agree to this matter until she comes out of her fear. Next don’t just interfere in my sister’s matter and give her more pain.’
She’s my best friend and soul sister too. Why are you behaving like this? Why can’t you see that she will not come out of her fears until and unless she accepts her love as her husband and live a happy married life?’
I don’t know all these things, but my sister should not get more pain. She retreated to her shell after this proposal thing. When you both blo*dy hell know what her fears are, why did you plan this thing? I’m outta here; me and my Beetroot are leaving in an hour, please don’t just follow us.’
Arjun who was silent all this time spoke to Radhika as this might be the last chance for him to speak his heart to her.
Sweetheart!! Why don’t you understand? I love you, please agree to this marriage and I promise I’ll make you happy in this relation.’ Said Arjun with a hopeful gleam in his eyes.
Sorry De….. Sorry Arjun….. I love you too but I cannot do this and you know why. As Carrot said we are leaving in an hour, please don’t follow us and remember I love you more than you love me.’ Said Radhika and walked out of the room followed by Neil who gave a glare to Sam and left the place.
Arjun who shocked to listen to his name instead of his nickname from his Sweetheart stood like a statue with Sam beside him.
Sorry Arjun!! I didn’t know Radhika will be this stubborn on marriage grounds. I thought if she got her love as her husband, she will agree to the marriage. But No!! She have to do this and Neil, I don’t know what his problem is. Why is he supporting her when he knew we were only trying to bring her out of her shell?’ said Sam.
Don’t worry little sister, she will be fine. Neil is with her, that’s enough for me; my Sweetheart will be more than fine with her brother on her side. But I wanted to be her support too, so only I put forward this marriage proposal. If I knew that I will lose her forever, I wouldn’t have done this. It’s my fault entirely. Because of my foolishness, you lost your love too. I’m so sorry Sam, I’m really sorry.’ Said Arjun with tears in his eyes.
Don’t worry Arjun, you didn’t lose her forever. She will return to you, she loves you so much to leave you half-way. So cheer up my brother, we have two stubborn heads to deal with.’ Said Samaira to lighten up the mood but she knew their relationship came to an end then and there with their love of life.
What are you trying to say Sam?? Are you trying to console me or yourself? There are not going to come back and that’s the truth. Accept this little sister.’ Said Arjun and broke down into inconsolable tears clinging on to Sam’s shoulders.
Sam was unable to form any coherent thought that time. What will she do now? All these things have to happen now, when everything was about to get a happy ending. She should be strong for everyone, but how? When her love and her soul left her…
On the other side Radhika and Neil left the college and were on their way to Airport to leave to their respective places. In cab, Radhika closed her eyes and gone back many years to remember how she developed this fear of marriage.
Radhika’s parents’ marriage is a love marriage. They both eloped from their village and came to city to escape from honour killing. They both got married in a temple. But now the only thing they should think about is their livelihood. Mala, Radhika’s mother is an expert in cooking. Dilip, Radhika’s father did some odd jobs to earn some money. When they got enough money to buy the groceries, they started a small hotel on a roadside. That small hotel got famous; Dilip and Mala were beyond happy to see their business flourishing. In the mean time, with the money they saved they started another hotel in another area and Mala became Head cook there. Their business has gone to greater heights in a span of 2 years. Good news tripled up their happiness that is Radhika took her place in her Mom’s womb. Both Dilip and Mala were beyond happy with this news. Mala gave birth to Radhika. Their family was complete with all the happiness. There’s always a dark phase in everyone’s life. That dark phase will show its existence at some point of time. Same happened here. Mala’s parents were finally able to trace her whereabouts. When they got to see their daughter’s success, they were beyond happy or Mala thought so. The arrival of Mala’s parents brought a rift in Mala and Dilip’s relationship. Both were always fighting like cats and dogs every single day. Mala’s parents were happy to see this but little Radhika was broken beyond repair. She has no one to share her problems. In addition to that, her parents joined her in a boarding school. She didn’t talk to anybody and buried her problems in her heart.
When she is in eighth standard her school management called a motivational speaker Mr. Shiv Khera to their school as a Chief Guest to some function. That day he spoke about how children were influenced by the environment of their upbringing, peer pressure. Radhika is on the verge of breaking down then and there listening to his speech. She personally met him in a private room and discussed her problems with Mr. Shiv, he advised her not to lose hope on her life. Her parent’s got separated and took divorce that doesn’t mean she will bury her worries in her heart. She should live her life by helping others, that’s what even our holy scriptures preach. He wished her and left the room. Radhika decided that day not to get married. The feeling of love was present between her parents but the relation called ‘marriage’ destroyed it all, so she will not get married but will definitely love someone and that someone will be love of her life. They can continue their relation without marriage too, what is a big problem in that- she thought.
All the things we think will not be fulfilled, Radhika got her love of life but she didn’t want to get married. So she left him, will she be able to live her life without him? And what about Neil, he left Sam because of her and Arjun’s relationship. What will she answer Sam?
Her chain of thoughts was broken by the honk of the car which came to a halt in the front of Airport. Both Neil and Radhika bid their byes and left to their respective places.

End of segment FOUR…. What do you think will happen next? Will these four ever meet up each other and solve their problems or is this the end of their relationship? To know that, wait for the next and final segment of ‘That One Thing’.
I save the best for the last… Neil, my dimple boy, is my favourite character in original MMZ after Arjun and Radhika. So I saved his one thing for the last. So final chapter will be revelation of Carrot’s one thing and many more dhamakas. 😉
Why did I use the word “again” in the prologue in the sentence “There is no rule this has to happen to her AGAIN”??? Radhika didn’t want to endure the pain she’s got from a relationship called marriage again after what she’s gone through because of her parents’ marriage. So I used that word like that… 😛 I got to see many ideas from you naughty friends because of this one word. 😀

To clear the point of Radhika’s pain- It’s actually said by Mr. Shiv Khera [the motivational speaker I’ve mentioned in this segment] that the children were mainly influenced by family’s atmosphere and peer pressure. If the parents of the children are fighting like cats and dogs, the child becomes violent and short tempered in nature. That leads to bad habits and all the other things that come with the influence of friends. Here Radhika went into turtle shell where only she is present and no one else matters to her. She came out of the shell when she heard these words from Shiv Khera Sir. And made herself strong for the world. But the concept of marriage made a deep hole in her heart and so she was unable to accept anybody as her spouse even if that is her love of life Arjun.
Did I do justice to Radhika’s character and your wait to know about Radhika’s past?? Is it even worth your wait??

I want to write badly on original MMZ like an extension you see… That’s just a vague thought; I really don’t have any stock of ideas to write this story. Will post that one when I get some ideas how to start up and develop the story. Should I start that?? Don’t think that I’ll give late updates because of this; I’ll have to schedule my days properly if I ever start this extension one, that’s it and that will be no Herculean task to finish the stories. 🙂
