Mishri is participating in a scholarship contest but is feeling nervous. She prays for God’s blessings, promising to offer butter to him if she passes. Keshav joins her in prayer, while Ridhi smirks, convinced that Mishri won’t make it past the first round. Ridhi recalls how she swapped Mishri’s textbook, believing even Raghav can’t help her now. The anchor introduces the contestants to the audience, explaining that the questions will appear on the screen, and they must press a button to answer.
Raghav notices Mishri looks calm but is nervous inside and mentions this to Vaani, who realizes he understands her well just by looking at her. Raghav and Vaani wish both Mishri and Ridhi good luck as the questions begin. While Ridhi and the others answer, Mishri remains silent, overwhelmed by the fact that the questions are in English, a language she struggles with.
At the end of the first round, the anchor announces the results—Mishri and Keshav scored zero and are disqualified. Raghav feels disappointed and shares this with Vaani. Ridhi taunts Mishri, telling her she doesn’t deserve the scholarship and isn’t talented enough to compete. She mocks Mishri’s background, saying she’s no match for them.
In response, Mishri asks the students to step forward if they aren’t poor, own a car, or don’t need a scholarship to continue their studies. As they step forward, Mishri and Keshav remain behind. She points out that while the others may have wealth and luxury, she and Keshav do not. She argues that the contest is unfair, as the questions are in English, a language she doesn’t understand. Ridhi dismisses her, telling her to accept defeat, but Mishri counters by asking Ridhi a question in English, which Ridhi cannot answer. Mishri explains the question and highlights how she felt when the contest asked questions she couldn’t comprehend.
Mishri argues for a fair chance, saying the contest discriminates against Hindi-medium students. Raghav agrees, and the crowd supports her, but the final decision lies with the University head. Ranjith, meanwhile, imagines the backlash he would face if his family found out the truth, resolving to get rid of both Mishri and his child.
Later, Mishri tries to speak with Samarth, but he insults her, pointing out her background. However, her sharp reply impresses him, and he gives her five minutes to explain her case. Despite her arguments, Samarth refuses to change the rules, and Mishri feels disheartened by his business-minded approach. Raghav encourages her, telling her she is still number one in his eyes and urging her not to lose confidence, while Vaani feels uncomfortable witnessing this interaction.
