Mirage Part 5
Anurag came home.
Nivedita:Anurag…I want to talk to you.
He was happy that Nivedita is going to talk to him.
Anurag:Yes di.
Nivedita:Basu Industries is our family’s creation. So I think an outsider like Prerna should be kicked out.

Anurag:Di…how can you call Prerna an outsider?
Nivedita:Because she is an outsider. And we cannot trust an outsider. She may cheat us.
Anurag screamed:No Di….never say a word against Prerna.
Nivedita was stunned to see the shy silent Anurag turned into a tiger. She sweated.

Nivedita:Anurag…What right Prerna has in our business? When you get married your wife can join our office. But not Prerna.
Anurag:Damn it.Don’t think you can kick Prerna out.
He went inside.
Nivedita became upset.
Devayani was dull.
Nivedita:Dadi…Why can’t Anurag understand?Only our partners should have a hand in our business. Not someone like Prerna.
Without replying Devayani went to Anurag who was frustrated.
D:Onu…you are sad because you want Prerna with you and at the same time you don’t want to fight with Nivedita.Right? But remember Nivedita doesn’t mind your wife joining our business. Then make Prerna your wife.
Anurag was shocked.
Anurag:Dadi!What did you say?
D:You like Prerna a lot.You always crave for her presence. Then why don’t you make her your life partner?
Anurag was stunned.
D:Think about it and discuss with Prerna.
She left.
Anurag thought about his moments with Prerna.
He thought:Will Prerna accept me in a different way?
Mujhko yeh zindagi, lagti hai ajnabi
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee

Anurag went to meet Prerna.
Anurag:Prerna…I want to tell you some thing.
PRERNA:I need to tell you an important matter Anurag.Yesterday evening a guy came to see me.A marriage alliance.Anuj Sharma. Our marriage is fixed.
Anurag became dull.

PRERNA:Don’t worry Anurag.I will be with you only.He allowed me to work for Basu Industries.
Anurag thought:Why I don’t feel happy about Prerna’s marriage even though she will continue working with me?

Mujhko yeh zindagi, lagti hai ajnabi
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee

Days passed…
Before Prerna’s engagement Anurag visited Prerna. There were their friends. He gave her a jewellery set.
Anurag:An engagement gift for you Prerna.
PRERNA:Thank you Anurag.

Anuj-Prerna’s engagement…
Devayani was very upset.Anurag was happy to see Prerna wearing the ornaments he gifted her.Still he was upset.
Prerna introduced Anuj to Anurag.
Anuj:Prerna always talks about her best friend Anurag.Nice to meet you.
Anurag:Wish you all the best. You are lucky to have Prerna as your life partner.
Anuj smiled:Yes I am.
Anuj-Prerna exchanged rings.
Anuj Prerna posed for photographs.

Their togetherness pierced Anurag’s heart.
He thought:Why I am not able to see Prerna with anyone else? Why I am so possessive about Prerna?

Jaane kahan se aaya hoon, kya jaane main kaun hoon
Koi yeh samjhaaye mujhe, kaise main yeh gum sahoon
Jaane kahan se aaya hoon, kya jaane main kaun hoon
Koi yeh samjhaaye mujhe, kaise main yeh gum sahoon

Night…

Prerna was restless thinking of her engagement with Anuj.
PRERNA:Why I feel so upset?Even after marriage I and Anurag can remain friends. We will be together.Still why I feel pain?

Mujhko yeh zindagi, lagti hai ajnabi
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee
Anurag couldn’t sleep.
Anurag:I want to see Prerna.
He rushed to her room.
Prerna was stunned:Anurag…You?
Anurag:I am not able to sit peacefully without seeing you. That’s why I came here.
Phirse andhere chhaa gaye, khoyee ujaale ki kiran
Kal raahon mein phool the, ab hai kaanton ki chubhan
Phirse andhere chhaa gaye, khoyee ujaale ki kiran
Kal raahon mein phool the, ab hai kaanton ki chubhan

PRERNA:Even I was dying to see you.I felt I was going crazy without seeing you.
Both looked at each other emotionally.

Mujhko yeh zindagi, lagti hai ajnabi
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee
Chhaaon bhi, dhoop bhi, har naye pal hai nayee(Sailaab).
