Arohi is cooking for her first rasoi when she receives a phone call. Seizing the opportunity, Bua sabotages her kheer by adding extra sugar. Later, Bua explains the significance of this ritual: if Arohi impresses her father-in-law Kailash with her cooking, she receives a gift, but if she fails, she must accept punishment. Arohi calmly states she is ready for either outcome.
When Arohi suggests the family eat together while serving, Kanika immediately objects, asserting that men must eat first according to household rules. Bua, confident her sabotage has worked, instructs Arohi to serve Kailash first. She tests Arohi by asking if she knows his favorite sweet. Arohi reveals her clever approach – she didn’t ask about preferences but discovered what his late wife Anuradha used to make for him, deducing kheer was his favorite from their stories.
Bua anticipates Kailash’s displeasure but remains confused when he shows no reaction. She tastes the kheer herself and finds it perfect, recalling her own sabotage. Simultaneously, Arohi remembers noticing spilled sugar in the kitchen, which prompted her to check and correct the dish. Realizing Arohi has outsmarted her, Bua understands this new daughter-in-law won’t be easily removed.
When Bua presses Kailash for his verdict, he dismissively states that cooking is a woman’s duty and gives Arohi ten rupees as a token gift. She accepts it graciously. To further humiliate Arohi, Bua orders the leftovers fed to cows, then stages an accident where kheer spills on Kailash’s pants. As he demands cleaning, Bua pretends to defend Arohi, suggesting rules be relaxed due to her health, but Arohi insists on following traditions and cleans the mess herself.
When Devika calls to warn Arohi about Bua, Bua intercepts the call. She pretends to speak with Devika, falsely claims Abhishek is coming, then instructs the nurse to manage Devika while she keeps Arohi occupied.
Bua announces another ritual at 4 PM that will determine Arohi’s place in the family. Meanwhile, Arohi receives a call from her Mami revealing that Anuradha wrote to them and has been faking her paralysis by bribing a doctor. When confronted, Anuradha confesses she created this drama because the family are “monsters” who would never release Arohi. Instead of being discouraged, Arohi motivates Anuradha to fight back. The tension escalates as Bua delivers another ultimatum – informing Arohi she must change her name to belong to the family.
