Dhairya, waiting for an opportunity to ruin Mannat’s Karva Chauth rituals, gets a signal from Mallika. He deliberately knocks over a ceremonial lamp (diya), shouts “Fire!” to create panic, and expects the ensuing chaos to discredit Mannat. However, his plan goes awry when Vikrant heroically tries to extinguish the fire and accidentally burns his hand. A panicked Dhairya rushes to help, his guilt immediately apparent.
As Mannat and Roni tend to Vikrant’s wound, they hear his mother, Neetu, shouting in distress. When Neetu tries to go to her son, the scheming Vishaka stops her, insisting that Mannat is already helping him. Vishaka begins to poison Neetu’s mind, suggesting that Mannat herself is the cause of the bad luck that ruined the sacred ceremony. She insinuates that
Mannat, trying to be the peacemaker, goes to calm Neetu and informs her that Vikrant is alright. Neetu, however, viciously attacks Mannat, calling her a “bad omen” and blaming her for all their misfortunes. She humiliates Mannat by comparing her unfavorably to Vikrant’s ex, Aishwarya, and even suggests that Aishwarya would have been violent towards Mannat. This provokes Mannat’s mother, Shruthi, who defends her daughter and questions Neetu’s cruelty. In a fit of anger, Neetu slaps Shruthi, a moment that Vishaka and Mallika observe with satisfaction.
Vishaka then rushes to Vikrant, falsely claiming that Mannat is arguing with and has pushed his mother. A furious Vikrant confronts Mannat, accusing her of lying and assaulting Neetu. Despite Mannat’s truthful denials and Gagan’s attempts to defend her, Vikrant refuses to believe his wife, stating that his mother is always right.
The argument reaches a boiling point. Vikrant, in a moment of intense anger, declares that he wants to end their relationship. Encouraged by the triumphant looks from Mallika and Vishaka, Mannat accepts his words, telling him not to take them back. She laments that despite all her efforts, he lacks the most basic trust in her. She expresses that their marriage feels like a daily punishment and that nothing is more important to her than her own mother, whom Neetu insulted. Defending his mother to the end, Vikrant lets Mannat leave.
In the fallout, Dhairya confronts Vishaka, expressing his regret and disgust for ruining his brother’s happiness. He questions how a mother could willingly orchestrate her own son’s heartbreak. Shruthi advises a heartbroken Mannat not to make a permanent decision, but Mannat is fed up with constantly having to prove her innocence.
Later, Dhairya, showing a conscience, states that Neetu was wrong to slap Shruthi and that a fair decision must be made to deliver justice to Mannat, whom he believes was not at fault.
Precap: Aishwarya furiously demands that Dhairya free her from jail, declaring that she wants to personally take revenge on Mannat and the Salujas. Later, Vikrant tenderly fills Mannat’s hairline with vermilion.
