Chapter 8

So guys, here’s the next chapter…uff..its another short one…I don’t know when am I going to get some time to write along one…but promise to do so at the first available opportunity.…I am sorry would have posted sooner…but I don’t know what was wrong..wasnt able to open the site since morning….and when it finally opened it wasn’t allowing me to upload new articles saying its under maintainence…….finally! so let me how it was 

As soon as the four entered the office. An entire different scene awaited. Everyone was collected in the centre area. Everyone was whispering and muttering something. As soon as the four entered, all eyes turned to them. Sam’s expression darkened. While the other three remained unfazed.
Neil asked, “what’s wrong guys? Why aren’t you at your places working?”
Kritika replied to him, “shhh neil….didnt you hear?”
Radhika, “nope…no a single clue ….we went out. “
Kritika nodded grimly, “our marketing head has resigned and walked out right now….and the new one is on his way. Its being said that the board of directors knew for almost three months but no one bothered to inform us. I don’t know what’s happening, the situation is messy.”
Teji, “seriously…he just walked out like that? I mean, guys, it must be huge…..even the HR had no idea…and we are always informed before hand”
Zubin added, “well, it is being said, that he got a bigger and better offer from Birdsong and he took it. And since the board has selected an equally efficient person to take his position, they say it shouldn’t be any problem. And they even apologized saying that they wanted the new guy to get comfortable with us. So they didn’t tell us thinking that if we knew before hand we’ll be judgemental.”
As soon as sam heard Birdsong….she just didn’t care for the rest of it to be completed. She ran towards terrace without muttering a word to anyone…..everybody was surprised at her action. Radhika paused for a couple of seconds and then followed sam. She reached the terrace
And saw sam standing in one corner with her back to radhika. She was shivering. Radhika could easily make out that she was upset and that she was probably crying. Radhika just couldn’t make out why….what had upset her to such an extent that she was crying on the terrace of a building full of people, she works with. Radhika didn’t know. She just went to sam and hugged her tight. Firstly, sam protested but soon she gave in and cried her heart out. Radhika held her till she calmed down.

While downstairs, all the heads turned towards the door, a really handsome hunk wearing a black formal suit entered. His hair were slicked back, laden with gel. All the girls were gasping at his sight. He was the dream. He entered and confidently introduced himself, “hey guys, I am arjun mehra, your new marketing head.”
Everyone started greeting him and went forward for a handshake except neil and teji, they hadn’t quite formed their opinion about him. Everyone called arjun, sir…he gave an amused smile and said, “guys..please don’t call me sir…honestly I prefer arjun.” the people there didn’t seemed convinced so he smiled and added, “plus, it’ll make me comfortable…..does that help?”
Everyone laughed. Suddenly arjun saw neil and teji standing in a corner, he went over shook hands with them, “guess, with the expression on your face…you haven’t made your opinion about me.”
Neil and teji laughed. They liked this guy. He was warm…he was confidently…and was friendly.
Neil smiled, “hey I m neil, the creative director.”
Arjun gave him an unbelievable look, “the neil malhotra…the master of ads? All your ads are successes….you are like the ultimate in this field…I m a huge fan.”
Neil smiled, “that’s all because of my team…and chashni, she comes with all the dialogues and scripts.”
Arjun was confused, “chashni?”
Neil and teji shared an embarrassed smiled, “radhika.” They both said together.
Arjun, “I haven’t met her….have i?”
Teji, “no you haven’t……trust me, you are gonna wait to be friends with her as soon as you hear the first sentence she says.”
Suddenly, neil remembered that sam and radhika were gone a long time, he nudged teji, who understood as well. They excused themselves.
Arjun, “you guys are suddenly looking worried. Is something wrong?”
Teji gave a nervously laugh and spoke, “nope..all fine.”
Saying so, they rushed towards the terrace…they stopped short and gasped at the sight. Both samaira and radhika were sitting together, laughing and giggling…like childhood friends. Neil and teji were really surprised. They knew radhika to be that sort of a person….but sam…no..no…they never even thought of the possibility in their dreams…
Neil and teji looked at them and then looked at each other, and started moving forward. They walked to the girls and neil, “hey girls…mind of we join?”
Radhika giggled, “mind if we join? Seriously? what have you guys been watching? *radhika held his hand pulling him downwards* come ..sit.”
Neil and teji looked at radhika and then at sam. Sam saw that and replied, “hey, I am samaira khanna….i know…should have talked to you long back….neil is even my neighbor… but I didn’t …sorry….today radhika made me learn the importance of friends.”
Neil tried to make a light of the situation, he gave an exaggerated amused look and spoke, “oh my gosh….oh my gosh!! You knew that I lived next door to you??? gosh! I thought, my existence was viable enough to you.”
Radhika and teji laughed, and sam made a face but she joined in soon after. They became good friends…and even started hanging out at sam’s place inside of the usual neils. Sam relaxed all her restrictions and became quite free with them.she was talkative, bubbly, chirpy and full of life, seeing her now made them wondered if she had a split personality disorder.
One evening, all four were eating take away Chinese, in rasam’s apartment. Sam was laughing uncontrollably. the other three were amused.
Neil, “sam are you okay?”
Sam, “yeah I m fine.”
Neil, “give me the contact details of your doctor.”
Sam gave me an amused look and played along, “whyyy?”
Radhika laughed. And teji replied, “neil wants to check if you have a split personality disorder.”
Sam gave a shocked looked to neil, in actual fact she was amused, “ohh neil…I do..i do have it…and u know what..the best part is when I become an over obsessed girlfriend…its gonna be fun now that I know you. you never know, maybe I’ll end up marrying you.”
Radhika and teji pressed their lips to hide their smiles, they knew sam was messing with neil.
Neil on the other hand was scared now, he gulped hard….. “umm…sam….u-u-u..umm.”
Sam pulled in a little more close which made neil jump. He ran and hide behind radhika, and in process, he knocked over teji’s chair. Teji landed on the floor with a thud and rasam laughed their hearts out.
Teji, “yeah right….neil messes with sam…sam messes with neil…radhika messes with both of them….and it is me who lands on the floor.”
Even neil laughed now and teji made a face.
