After 3 years
It was almost midnight…..the room was cozy and well lit, decorated very creatively, homely…nandini had already slept and arjun was yet to come back from office….radhika sat on a rocking chair caressing a photo frame with her fingers….it was a midsized frame with its borders polished golden, containing a picture of them all……all smiling wearing bright traditional clothes. It was taken on the day of ardhika’s marriage…..a smile crept on her lips as colorful memories flashed in front of her.

As soon as her fingers touched sam’s face. She chuckled remembering how her and arjun’s special day had become nesam’s……how they got married in the same hall by the same priest 15 mins after she and arjun did. It could never have imagined even in her wildest dreams that neil would actually take her stupid suggestion and get married then and there. she smiled even wider reminiscing how a extremely drunk teji had proposed to ishana for marriage, in the cocktail part that followed. The even surprising part was that she even agreed. But what happened the next morning still stays the best memory…..teji had completely forgotten what all happened the last night! Well, they still have fun teasing him and his soon be to bride.

When her fingers touched arjun’s face, her eyes reflected pure love, her lips curled in a smirk remembering how she had left his insatiable desire for her grow for almost three months.

She sighed looking at the smiling saral in the picture, well, he had come to a long from being her best friend to being obsessive about her, she often wondered how he ended up getting married to arjun’s sister. Moreover, who could have ever imagined, that saral would make such a good, hands on dad. Well, people do change. Yes, saral and bonnie had a cute little two year old daughter, ahana.

And nandini…….well, she was the best mother in law, anyone could ever get. Caring, loving, she always treated her as her own daughter. Radhika had immense respect in her eyes for her, she remembered with a tremble how she couldn’t stop her tears when nandini was in the operating room. Fortunately, now all was okay and nandini was completely free from the clutches of her tumour.

she sighed as she kept the frame on the side table. She had come a long way, in the journey she had made friends for life and fell in love with the most amazing man ever. Well, the man who never came home on time. she chuckled.

She was brought out of her thoughts by the door creaking open. There he was, her love, her arjun late from office on yet another day. He threw his blazer down the bed, loosened his tie and walked up to his wife, who was standing by the window.
“radhika.” He lovingly called out.

She pouted and turned away. he moved forward and locked her in his arms from behind. He firmly attached her back to his front and placed a wet kiss on her neck. Her skin instantly got goosebumps. He smiled, she still reacted to his touch, the same way she did the first time. radhika wrapped her hands around his, which were placed on her belly. He gently whispered close to her ear, “Radhika, you should have slept……you know naa, your keeping awake till late isn’t good for the baby rolling in your belly.”

Radhika turned around in his arms, placing her hand over his heart, “and you know, I can’t sleep without you….”
Arjun smiled, picked her up in his arms, placed her gently on the bed, covering her with a blanket. He settled himself down next to her. Radhika instantly wrapped her feet over his, placing her head on his chest. Arjun wrapped his arms around his life. He whispered, “Sleep radhika.”

Well, it is so easy. All it takes is a second to fall in love, which may take a lifetime to get over with.
