Chapter 34
Guys, here’s chapter 34….dont know when will I update the next….sorry….but to compensate…….i have written this enormously long chapter…so brace yourselves….its gonna be a long and boring journey…..

It was one eventful day with Saral toiling hard the entire day……working in and out. Bonnie felt helpless to see her brother make her love work so hard yet she felt delighted to find that saral kept on fighting till the last…he didn’t let the thoughts of giving up enter his brain. His respect increased manifolds in her eyes.
Arjun stayed in his room the entire day…..though he did keep a silent watch on saral and bonnie……radhika spent the entire morning at his apartment….chatting with Arjun…joking around with neil and bonnie….and pulling prank on an already over burdened saral. She went back to hers next door as she had a afternoon movie date with sam. Arjun called up sam as soon as Radhika exited from the door. Arjun started speaking as soon as sam picked up, “Sammy, you remember your promise naa…you have to talk to Radhika today itself…..today at this movie plan of yours and I want to hear what she says..”
Sam smiled…she teased him, “chill…despo guy…I didn’t know that the cool dude Arjun could get so desperate for a girl.”
Arjun sighed…she just couldn’t get serious about anything, “sam…..listen seriously for a min…and I promise, I will come to you to get myself teased…okay? Now do as I say….talk to her between the movie and call me before you decide to do so…just call me and kept the phone close so I can hear whatever she says..”
Sam thought for a second…she didn’t want Arjun to get hurt….since they didn’t really know what Radhika felt…..she felt that the plan wasn’t fool proof…..what if Radhika says something which breaks Arjun heart in pieces…..sam knew Arjun had fallen head over heels for Radhika, and god forbid if something goes wrong, it is will take him forever to get over her…..even forever seemed short after all it was Arjun mehra…. Hence, she was sceptical…
Arjun understood her silence, he assuringly spoke “sam…don’t you worry…I trust my love…my instincts…I know she loves me….she truly does…it may take her some time to understand….but it wouldn’t take forever.”
Sam smiled, “seems like you are prepared for worse..”
Arjun, “it isn’t a battle……stop being so over dramatic yaar….now call me when you speak to radhika.”
Saying so he hung up…leaving a bewildered sam wondering what had got into him.
Radhika entered sam’s room, holding a tray filled with snacks……Radhika was excited, “finally….it seems like ages…..finally, we are getting some time together…just the two of us.”
Sam nodded and pulled out the insert the DVD In the player….it was a love story…..radhika watched the movie all engrossed…her hands moving mechanically from the plate to her mouth while her eyes remained glued to the TV. Sam couldn’t concentrate, she kept thinking ways to bring up Arjun….
Finally, sam decided that it was a do or die situation, she paused the movie and Radhika looked at her intently, “what happened Sammy?”
Sam stammered, “well, ummm, I was thinking ki naa….vo actually,…yeah….we are watching a love story…well, i completed my love story with neil…….what about you?”
Radhika giggled mischievously, “with neil?”
Sam hit her with a pillow, “no…stupid…Arjun”
Sam quickly dialled Arjun and placed her phone between both girls.
Radhika’s expression turned grave immediately as if she was fighting with her inner turmoil, “what makes you think so?”
Sam paused for a second and replied, “sorry chashni…didn’t mean to offend you…..its just that you and arjun are best friends…and he loves you….so I thought that maybe..”
Radhika barked sharply, “did he himself says so?”
Sam quickly replied, “no…I mean, he didn’t say it himself….but it seems pretty clear with his actions…I mean the way he looks at you…..cares about you…he way he tackled saral….i mean, even you are pretty comfortable with him….i understand where am I getting at?”
Radhika smiled a sad one, “I am very comfortable with neil as well……but does that mean I am in love with him?”
Sam counter questioned, “so that means you don’t love Arjun..”
Radhika sighed, “I did not say so.”
Sam got a bit irritated, “stop playing riddles with me chashni…..do you or do you not love Arjun?”
Radhika kept quiet for a couple of minutes….sam cursed herself for promising Arjun and landing herself in such a situation…it would have been better to let them two handle their business on their own…..but no, the great samundar singh had to interfere…..
Sam mentally facepalmed herself……she then raised her voice, “am still waiting for an answer Radhika.”
Radhika gulped down a slip of water, “you want an answer naa…so here, it is…yes, I love Arjun.”
Sam squealed in delight, “yay! It seems so perfect…..i’ll ask him to propose…… you guys will make a perfect couple”
Radhika quietly said, “no.”
Sam looked at her intently, “ he loves you and you love him…what’s the problem chashni?”
Radhika kept quiet…sam held her hands assuring her of her unconditional support…..
Radhika finally answered, speaking in a trembling voice, “why? ….so we can get ice cream together…listen to music…travel across galaxies…only to have it end in slammed doors and broken hearts….yeah sure……Sammy, love isn’t meant for me….we are friends and I care about him…I love him and will always do….but i cant commit to him…I cant see his disappointed face…I cant bear his broken heart…I just don’t want to do anything to jinx the bond of friendship we share….sammy, the sad truth is that my love story wont ever have a happy ending……I have come to reality with this…even you should..”
Radhika walked out leaving sam befuddled……she took a few seconds to comprehend what had just happened……when she finally did, she grabbed her phone…, “hello?”
Arjun replied in a tired voice, “ I heard everything..”
Sam asked him, “why are you sad then?”
Arjun let out an exasperated sigh, “should I be happy to know that my love cant commit to me…”
Sam slapped her forehead, “Arjun, whats wrong with you……every cloud has a silver lining…..atleast now, you know that she loves you back….and that she cant commit to you because she is afraid of hurting you and getting hurt herself….that she afraid of love……arjun, all you need to do is to assure her of the immense love you have for her…..to assure her of the strength of love….to make her believe in love …..you need to assure her that whatever may happen you wont ever leave her hand……you need to assure her of your never dying love…
Arjun, your love story is In your hands….you have the power to give a perfect ending to a perfect story…”
Arjun kept quiet…..sam spoke again with a renewed energy, “ where is the fire, Arjun mehra…..what happened to that Arjun who always got what he wanted…..you want Radhika and you have the power to make her yours.”
Sam’s energy rubbed off on Arjun……he came out of his gloomy mood and vowed to make Radhika his….no matter what…..afterall, he was the Arjun mehra…who never left what was his……his love grew even stronger after knowing that even radhika reciprocated his feelings….
Sam smiled……she went to Radhika and hugged her…she gently spoke, “love is for everyone, Radhika….love has the power to play its magic on the most barren hearts……you know what Radhika, getting angry….getting hurt is all a part of love…..it all just ends up making you and your love even stronger…..trust me, just let your instincts guide you.”
Saying so sam got up and left.
Sam giggled after coming out of her room….. Her pov “they are even sillier than little kids….they love each other yet are entangled in things that don’t even matter…ufff…somebody had to play the cupid….” She patted her own back…..and went back to complete the movie.
Arjun was so happy…he was jumping up and down….he was giggling….squealing in delight …..all this noise made bonnie rush to his room…., “whats wrong bhai?”
Arjun picked her up and twirled her around, “nothing is wrong…..everything is just as it should be…”
Bonnie, “what do you mean?”
Arjun spoke excitedly, “Radhika loves me back.”
He was so happy that he danced his way out of his room….he hugged saral who was cleaning the cupboards with a broom in his hand…
Arjun took the broom from him and danced with it as if it was a girl….bonnie and saral stared at him in bewilderment….hearing all this commotion, even neil came out of his room…….bonnie told him the entire story…..neil played some music before joining Arjun…they danced like crazy….finally, exhausted they crashed on the couch and bonnie handed glasses filled with juice to them.
Arjun called out, “saral…leave it….”
Saral came out of the kitchen, “sir?”
Arjun went up and held him by shoulders, “its Arjun for you now….saral, you have proved your worth…..and deserve to be a part of our family…”
Saral hugged Arjun in an overflow of emotions..
Bonnie had happy tears streaming down in her cheek…..it was the view any girl who love to see….her brother and her love gelling in so well…
Neil was proud of arjun’s decision….he was keeping his sister’s happiness ahead of his own…
Arjun, “saral…..ask anything you want….your wish is already granted…”
Saral thought for a couple of minutes then winked mischievously at bonnie, “I want to marry your sister real quick…”
Arjun smiled, “day after tomorrow sounds fine?”
Bonnie stared at Arjun wide eyed before jumping on him….even neil joined…
After they broke the hug….neil smilingly arm hugged bonnie and looked at saral sharply, “if even a single drop of tear falls from her eyes…..i will not leave you…”
Saral gulped and Arjun laughed, “now that the customary warning is done….can we move on to the details?”
Neil nodded…., “bonnie…go inform sam and chashni….or else they will kill us for not telling them such big news.”
Arjun slapped his forehead and screamed.., “run bonnie run!”
Radhika and sam came running back to bonnie….both happy……seeing them smile, Arjun and neil felt a inner contentment.
Since Saral wanted a simple wedding….so, a near by temple was chosen…and Radhika was made the incharge of decorations and arrangements…while sam had the tedious task of taking bonnie shopping and getting her ready….neil was to take saral shopping…..arjun decided to supervise everything….
Arjun was really happy…but a thought struck his nerve and left him jittery, was he to inform nandini? Ethically, a mother should be informed of her daughter’s wedding….but then she herself had lost all rights on both her kids….arjun was really confused and decided to sort it out with bonnie later…
Later that night, Arjun knocked on bonnie’s door….she answered sleepily…..all her sleep vanished seeing his tensed eyes, “whats wrong bhai?”
Arjun entered the room and closed the door behind…lowering his voice to a whisper, “gudiya, don’t take me wrong…but I don’t know….should we inform mom?”
Bonnie looked at him…paused for a couple of seconds as if making her mind about it…., “no..bhai, she doesn’t deserve to know….after all that happened…I don’t know…but I see her in an entirely different light…..she almost destroyed the life of a girl due to no fault of hers….even the back story which she gave was fake….she almost manipulated the golden heart of yours….had it not been for rana kaka….i don’t know…even thinking about it gives me shudders……bhai, I am even angry with you……why did you leave me wit her after you knew the truth…and why didn’t you tell me?”
Arjun pulled bonnie’s ears, “you were a 16 year old kid then….plus, no matter what she did…she could be trusted to wish the best for you…”
Arjun settled himself on her bed, “but how did you get to know the truth? I mean, I didn’t tell you….she wouldn’t…for obvious reason….then who did?”
Bonnie and sat down the bed, “rana kaka did…..he was waiting for me to turn 21…..so that I would be in a position to understand things better…..he told me because I had a right to know……well, I left home the next day…and only rana kaka knew my location….”
Arjun smiled recalling kaka, “so you came here…for me?”
Bonnie smiled, “you just walked off…you didn’t inform anyone….how was I supposed to find you….i zeroed upon india and started looking for you in delhi….but finding you in mumbai was just happy conincidence..”
Arjun smiled….his little princess had really grown up, “I am proud of you…” he whispered….. “bonnie, now don’t let any negative thoughts come to your mind….its okay…..your brother is always with you…..i just asked because I wanted to confirm of we were on same page….now that we are….nothing else matters.”
Arjun wished her for the night and walked off to his room.
Neil woke up in the middle of the night feeling thirsty….to his surprise, he found sam snuggling close to him, with her arms wrapped around his waist…..he shook her a little…, “sammy….what are you doing here? What if Arjun or bonnie see you…..or what if Radhika notices your absence….they’ll tease to death..”
Sammy tightened her grip around him and spoke without opening her eyes spoke mechanically, “doesn’t matter…..nobody saw and nobody will see….plus chashni sleeps like she is hibernating….couldnt sleep….needed your arms….”
Neil loved her presence but protested just to tease her, “but…”
Sammy buried her self in his strong chest, “no ifs and buts…..just sleep….neilu jaan…”
Neil cocooned her with his arms….he closed his eyes with a wide grin on his face…, “neil jaan” he whispered fondly..
