I turned around to pick her call.,and as I expected,she ran down holding her skirt a little high…. “Radhika….wait!…listen me!”,she dint pay heed to any of my words….I tried to have a look on her,fearing she may miss the steps in dark…
“Hello…hello…Bhai….”,Sam sounded restless
“Yes…Sam…tell me….Why are you worried…”,this time I turned little worried…
“Are u at home…bhai…pls check for Radhu….her phone is not reachable….she…bhai…pls…she fears to stay alone…”
“Ok..relax…she is here”,I blurted…
“THERE??!!!!”,Sam shrieked….
I realized my mistake…”Sam…here means…here…in her balcony…arranging the same lamps… I could see her from ours..”..I replied…
Telling lies have never been this difficult….
“Oh..ok….”..”aunty…she is there…bhai told…dont worry pls…”,I could hear her convincing Radhika’s mom..”Nope…in balcony it seems…that’s better…”,she still spoke with her…
“What’s better….”,I asked confused…

after some 10mins I noticed something to move little away from her balcony…exactly the steps for third floor…Oh.!..she had been sitting on steps….Most of the families devoted themselves to their television I guess.,I heard only those noises as I stepped towards her home.,She looked startled when I stood before her…

“Hmm..well…she thought to ask me to pick you it seems…anyways..do you want to join them..”,I asked..
However…she won’t get inside her home….I had no mood to leave her like that…..She saw me accusing!…
“I will book cab..!!”,I tried to convince….She nodded in negative irritating me….”I will drop you and come back…Is that okay?”,I asked bit sharp…
“I don’t want to go”,she mumbled…
Sighing exhausted..”Then..you are going to sit here in steps?”,I asked her… She glared me for a sec.,and tried to unlock her door…
“Whats your reply Radhika?”,I stood behind her….
“For what?”,She mumbled surprising me….I saw the adjacent flat to stay closed….”Have they vacated?”,I asked…
“Yes..”,she said and went inside her house… The road was in complete silence.,No one can notice whats happening there….
“Whats that?”,I asked and she turned behind,I quickly stepped inside and locked the door fast..
“wha..wa”,she stammered….I strode having a leisure look of her house…Good!!
She tried opening the door.,the latch was bit high.,I thought she couldn’t.,but she balanced her knee on the door and pulled it down..
“No use..I had locked with keys”,I took from my pocket…
“What do you want”,she asked alarmed…..But Alas! the power went off…I saw lights in my house…
“You don’t have a inverter?”,I asked surprised…
“Something went wrong”,she said irritated…
There were earthen lamps inside their house too…Inside every room..one in dining table… “You should have lit inside instead of arranging on compounds”,I sarcastically remarked..
I collided with her as I walked in dark.,she sighed annoyed.,that was something new to me…”Sorry..! I will stay here..you bring candles”,I said…
“Sir..Better go to your home”,she sounded sombre…
I heard her voice below my chin…I stood silent..”You light candles…I will…”,I replied…
I dint receive any reply after that…it was quite some time,so I called her…when I turned she came with a tray of lit lamps..,her face shone with the brightness of more than 10 lamps in that tray…but what.,she looked me terrified…Am I gonna eat her…!! I sat in that dining table chair…There were few lamps exhausted..I watched her and followed the same,wick ..oil..next…Ah..Matchbox… “Give me matchbox”,I asked..
She glared and moved away…Just a random thought crossed….I just imagined her reaction.,if she finds me to lit a lamp with my lighter…I so wish to do that.,definitely next year.,I need to do this..at least to earn her angry glare…
“Tch…I missed my lighter back at home”,I chuckled a unseen one..and she saw me with rage…My god!! did she think she could scare me with that look….
“When is next..kar..this festival”,I asked…She was in silent….Arranging more lamps inside the house.,she moved here and there.,I was left with only option of watching her….I clicked few pics as she went oblivious….How could she..??When a man is sitting in the middle of her house…Only me and her!!
She kept the tray and walked past behind me.,I caught her wrist and pulled before me,she landed in my lap..Perfectly..!! She gritted her teeth…”Where are you going?”,I asked smiling….”Reply”,I said….She tried to squirm from my hold….”You want me to run behind you..”,I husked in her ears….
“Sir..sir..Please…”,she tried to push me… “I am…sorr..sorry sir..”,her words choked…
“What?”,I asked confused as my grip went loose….She got on her feet…biting her lips.,she took few steps behind..”Sir..Iam sorry…I din’t know..why….I…I…there..when..you..”,she stammered….
“You love me Radhika”,I stood from my place…Its been 15 mins I had been patiently waiting in her home….Not any more!

“Sir…That was a mistake…!! Am responsible…!! I won’t say to anyone…So..Please..don’t speak about that further”,she said sharp….
What nonsense…! Mistake!!! She was too furious thinking something…Here.,I had been rejoicing the moment like a teen age lover..and she behaves extremely opposite…Usually..It would be guys to back off but here.,in my case its contrary….
“Mistake??” I asked..she was silent….”Ah…I never thought you would be eccentric..”,I continued…and she stood with her gaze at ground….”Good..Forget that…Anyways..that was a good kiss”,I said…She looked me in disbelief…

“I was drunk then too…”,I took her in my arms…My chest felt her whole to tremble at that…. “Radhika…Either say you love me..or…”.I dragged….

“Then…Lets do it…and Forget it like a mistake..!! See..we will be vacating from Chennai this January…So..lets have some moments together”,I walked fast searching her room…

I dropped her on the bed and got over her….Leaning close.,her breath fanned my chest….She lied dumbfounded beneath me….”Won’t you retort when a stranger touches you?”,I asked smirking…

“May be….May be that day….when you get my kid here…you will come for me”,I said stamping my palm on her belly….I felt something to hit in my left cheek… “was there a mosquito”,I smiled rubbing my cheek,where she thought she had slapped…
“Okay now!”,I leaned down..she began to hit my chest with her balled fists….”why don’t you hit me hard?”,I asked…and she broke into tears whining,”Go away…go…pls go away…”…
I laid watching her,pushing me annoyed.,pouting a little,but dared to look my face…I got down..and pulled her to me….”I said..not to cry today…still!”,I wiped her tears…
Moving to dining hall.,I gave her some water saying.,”I will leave now”,she had her gaze intent on that glass…I so want to yell at her.,but something made me this supple…This is not my way of dealing things or people,yet…I din’t know what I was doing.,why I still stood there waiting for her reply….
“Did you check your mobile…It must be working”,I said as I was about the open the door…
She switched it on immediately….Her eyes widened and caught mine,as I expected…Of course.,I kept her pic of lighting diyas which I took that evening.,as a screen saver….her fingers rapidly swiped the screen only to hit gallery..and next sec she looked me like a deer caught in trap…
“I took those pics..Just to threaten you…just like how you did with me…Nothing much”,she said after a minute of silence…I leaned on the wall folding my arms with a smile…
“Believe me!”,she said again… Her eyes moved in every possible directions of wondering ‘what’.,I could never guess…but at times snapped at me….
“Sir…Why are you smiling?”,she asked…
“Fernandez sir”,I corrected… “Do you have something to say”.I asked laughing…After few mins of silence.,I turned to leave…
“Fernandez sir…”,she called me pleading…
“Yes sir!”..I smiled ..
“Sir..This..won’t work….”,she stuttered…
“Why sir?”,I walked to her….she bit her cheeks to control herself listening my tease…
“Ah..Dont get any ideas that I had your pics..”,she said annoyed…
“Then why you prayed for my wellness…why were you so concerned about my persona…!!..Listen..the truth is Radhika Viswanathan Loves Arjun Samuel Fernandez”,I enunciated those last words only to clear my doubts,I had for her hesitance..

hitting the table….”Love you Radhika”,I whispered as I kissed beneath her collar bone..she giggled when I played tickling with my stubble…”Kiss me back”,I said.. “We are coming home….”,Sam said…and I disconnected the call.,as I was breathing fast…..She looked me confused… “Whats that you had,with elaichi flavor”,I asked..
“Cream biscuit”,she saw my face…
“Have this dress safe”,I said and hooked that button…”Radhika…They are coming back…”,I tried to get her off my lap.,while she sat bemused…
“What..??”,I got her down…”Adjust your hair first”…I moved towards mirror..but saw her to stand still…..I quickly switched on the fan..and adjusted my dress…We have been so enticed in living our moment.,that the necessity for basic air facility took a back seat…
“I’am ok isn’t”,I asked and she saw me unblinking…
God.!…There was a lot,to ask and discuss with her…But I…!! She buttoned my shirt smiling…
“Look yourself”,I adjusted her hair…she looped an arm and gave a chaste kiss on my left cheek….Before I could respond,the door bell rang….
She stood completely messed….Her lips.,hair.,her dress.,her eyes…I wiped her cheeks hastily with my hanky and she looked me affectionate…”Go inside..and adjust this dress….I will manage..ok”,I patted her cheek and rubbed off a drop of blood in her lips…..
How wild I have been? She was like a fresh rose bud in my arms and I just..!..I have no words to describe my annoyance on myself….The bell rang again…
“Radhi….”,I heard her mom’s voice…
She smiled and walked backwards looking me…First time.,I felt something wrong with her smile….
