With Jhalak Dikhlaja coming back to the TV screens after 6 long years, there is much hope that the show will bring back the same magic on screens. Old memories are being brought back and there are many revelations which are being made. Popular Television host and actor Maniesh Paul recently revealed that he wanted to participate as a contestant in the celebrity dance show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa but was not given a chance to participate. On the contrary, he has hosted several seasons of the show now.
Recently during the interview with an entertainment portal, Maniesh opened up and talked about how the makers of the show refused him to participate as a contestant. They were keen on having as a host though. Recalling the incident, he said, “Jhalak also has a story that not too many people know. In Jhalak, I wanted to be a contestant because I saw that huge hoardings of contestants are put up. I wanted the same for myself. So I called them up, I met them, and I was told that time ‘Sorry we can’t take you because you don’t have a famous face, we are looking for faces you know’. Which is again, no hard feelings. If you make a show, you make it like that”.
He further revealed that it was upsetting but then he was offered to host the show and he signed the papers in two hours. And that he says changed his life.
The latest season is now all set to air from the last week of July or mid-August. Are you looking forward to it?
