Kusum makes a desperate, last-minute plea for Mangal to cancel her wedding to Kapil. A confused Mangal reminds Kusum that she was the one who encouraged the marriage, but Kusum insists she should give her family and children another chance, noting that Adit has begun to change. Mangal is torn, revealing she only agreed because Kapil accepted her children and she values Kusum’s blessing.
Meanwhile, preparations continue as Pratima worries about delivering the groom’s haldi after some of it spilled. Their conversation is interrupted by Chinta Bua, who deliberately delays Lipika from delivering it.
As Shanti joyfully shows Mangal the wedding thali from Kapil’s family, praising him as a godsend, Mangal is haunted by Kusum’s words. At the crucial moment when Shanti tries to put the ceremonial bangles on her, Mangal pulls her hand away, causing the bangles and thali to shatter on the floor. A furious Shanti realizes Kusum has influenced her.
At Kapil’s house, Lipika helps him choose a sherwani, and their friendly exchange is secretly observed by Chinta Bua, who thinks they make a good pair. When Shanti calls to report the broken bangles—blaming a cat—Chinta Bua declares it a bad omen but agrees to send a new set. Kapil insists on delivering them personally with Lipika, and despite Pratima’s objections about it being inauspicious, Chinta Bua allows them to go together, setting the stage for more conflict.
