Adit warns Sowmya not to make decisions for Kusum without consulting Mangal. When Sowmya argues, Mangal rebukes her, asserting she will care for Kusum. Adit then leaves for work, while Sowmya, determined, devises another plan. Mangal brings food for Kusum, but she refuses, citing a headache. Mangal decides to organize a Sundarkand recitation. Shanti arrives with sarees, but Kusum angrily rejects them, worsening tensions. Shanti insists on taking Mangal away, and Sowmya taunts Mangal about her self-respect.
As Shanti forcefully tries to take Mangal, Kusum, recalling past betrayals, breaks free from the drug’s effects and stops her. She declares Mangal’s rightful place in the house and warns Shanti against interfering. Later, Mangal thanks Shanti for helping with the act. A mental asylum staffer gives Mangal a drug to inject into Kusum daily, signaling Sowmya, who smirks. Mangal complies while Sowmya watches gleefully.
Lakshmi, disguised as a man, dreams of reuniting with Karthik in jail. Later, in reality, she sneaks into the police station, is caught, and coincidentally ends up in Karthik’s cell. Karthik recognizes her, helps her evade capture, and wonders about her disguise. Lakshmi steals a key but is locked up with Karthik again. Prema tells Jia that Gayatri will reveal herself upon hearing of her son’s “death.” Jia is horrified, but Prema reassures her that she only used food poisoning. She then calls the police station to confirm if Karthik has eaten.
Lakshmi warns Karthik of a threatening letter. As they eat, she detects a chemical smell in the curry and realizes the food is poisoned. Karthik acknowledges her timely intervention, and Lakshmi vows to protect him. Jail staff inform Prema that her plan failed due to Lakshmi. Furious, Prema tells Jia that Lakshmi ruined everything, and Jia vows to ensure Lakshmi suffers in prison.
