Kusum begins cleaning the cupboard at home when her phone rings; slipping on soapy water while descending the stool, she falls and sustains an injury. She attempts to call for help, thinking of reaching out urgently. At the competition, Bhabhiji announces the challenge: contestants must create three distinct dishes from wood-based ingredients within one hour, making them

unrecognizable as sharing the same base.

Mangal rallies her team—Rithu and Diya—urging flawless preparation and providing precise guidance. Sowmya ignores Kusum’s incoming call, but Mangal notices the name, answers, and hears Kusum’s pained plea: Sowmya, I fell down… please come home quickly. The line cuts out unclearly before Mangal can respond; unable to use her own phone due to rules enforced by Bhabhiji, she grows deeply worried about her mother’s condition, though Diya presses her to focus on cooking quickly.

Distracted, Mangal absentmindedly places a dish in the oven still wrapped in aluminium foil, causing smoke to billow out and halting the round. Bhabhiji demands accountability, and Mangal owns the error with an apology, explaining her mother’s alarming call about poor health. Bhabhiji accuses her of drama in every round and questions her commitment, prompting Mangal to declare she’s leaving; Bhabhiji forbids it, warning of severe repercussions for quitting her kitchen without permission, but Mangal insists on checking on her mother. Sowmya overhears, recalling Kusum’s repeated ignored calls, and assumes Mangal will handle it since she’s heading home anyway.

Adit phones a colleague, puzzled by his boss’s car at the Pehla Swad event, learning the boss has taken over the assignment. Mangal rushes home, finds Kusum unconscious and injured on the floor, and summons a doctor who treats her deep wound, prescribing bed rest. Adit questions why Kusum was cleaning alone, with Sudesh explaining his brief absence led to the mishap; Sowmya reassures Adit not to fret. As Kusum regains consciousness, Mangal reaches for her hand, but Sowmya grabs it first, feigning concern and lamenting unanswered calls due to work; Mangal counters firmly: Take care of yourself. I will take care of Amma with father-in-law Sudesh’s help. Sowmya and Adit depart, leaving Mangal to nurse Kusum through the night.

The next morning, Mangal serves tea to Sudesh, who thanks her for abandoning the competition to care for Amma overnight and notes her thorough preparations. He encourages her to return, and she complies, arriving at the venue in uniform—only for Bhabhiji to dramatically hurl a knife, pinning her cooking hat and stopping her in her tracks.
