After the Pandit advises Dadi not to force Mangal into the purification ritual and departs, Kapil returns home. He questions why Mangal is wet and why the Pandit was there, but Mangal deftly handles his suspicions, and he leaves to freshen up. Bua Dadi ominously remarks that the incomplete ritual is inauspicious and its negative effects will manifest after Mangal and Kapil’s marriage, leaving Mangal visibly worried.
Later, as Mangal packs a suitcase, Bua Dadi’s warning weighs on her. While packing, she discovers a box of red bangles, a gift from her former mother-in-law, Kusum, who had entrusted her with caring for family relationships. The moment is shattered when Akshat scares her with a snake, causing her to drop and break the bangles. Adit arrives and accidentally crushes the broken pieces further. Kusum enters and pointedly reminds Mangal of the significance of the gift. Adit tells his mother that the shattered bangles symbolize his irreparably broken relationship with Mangal.
Meanwhile, tensions simmer elsewhere as Chinta Bua, selecting sarees for Mangal, taunts Pratima about Mangal’s status as a mother of two. In the kitchen, Mangal is preparing breakfast when her sister, Lipika, visits. After a careless act by Lipika—wiping an oil leak and leaving the tissue roll near the stove—a fire ignites. Mangal panics, ineffectively throwing water on the grease fire, which spreads rapidly.
Hearing her cries, Adit rushes into the blazing kitchen against protests from Kusum and Sudesh. He finds Mangal unconscious and carries her to safety. While Kusum scolds him for the risk, Adit declares he could never live with himself if he hadn’t saved her. Chinta Bua and Pratima arrive at the chaotic scene, with Chinta Bua sarcastically questioning if they were invited to a wedding or to witness “Mangal’s antics.”
After the fire brigade is called and Mangal regains consciousness, Kusum asks her to change her clothes so they can resume discussing the wedding ceremony. However, Chinta Bua observes the scene with suspicion, secretly concluding that Adit’s intense concern for his ex-wife indicates that “something is definitely brewing between them.”
