Kusum asks Mangal if she has anything to say. Mangal replies that a lot has happened in the past 24 hours. Understanding her emotional turmoil, Kusum empathizes with her, saying that during tough times, families do everything they can to support each other. She adds that she’s also doing her best to save Sudesh and reveals that ever since Mangal left home, Sudesh has constantly asked about her. Kusum reminds Mangal of her responsibilities and leaves. Left alone, Mangal prays to God for the strength to tell Kusum the truth.

Meanwhile, Pratima asks Shanti to choose a saree for Mangal. Shanti remarks that Mangal always considers others’ happiness before her own, so she shouldn’t stress too much over the choice.

Later, Mangal approaches Kusum to talk. Kusum, setting aside the iron box, directly asks if Mangal is doing everything against her will. She tells Mangal to swear on her and be honest, adding that it’s fortunate Sudesh didn’t see her without a mangalsutra and sindoor, as that could have caused an uproar. Mangal claims she simply forgot after bathing. Kusum questions whether her feelings have changed and if she no longer wants to continue pretending in front of Sudesh. Mangal insists that’s not the case and apologizes, saying she will wear the symbols of marriage—but also wants to confess something important. Just then, they smell something burning—the saree has been scorched due to the iron box. Kusum notes the damage and leaves to get it repaired.

Later, Pratima tells Shanti that she’ll call the pandit in the evening for the pooja and fix the engagement date for Kapil and Mangal. Shanti agrees, believing it’s better for Mangal to focus on her present rather than remain caught in the past. Pratima decides to call Mangal for the pooja.

Mangal adorns herself with the mangalsutra and sindoor. Pratima contacts Kapil, asking him to cancel his evening meetings and come home for the pooja and engagement discussion. Kapil agrees. Adit, who overhears the call, hands Kapil some files and later thinks to himself that it’s good Kapil is getting married—this way, Mangal will be free from responsibilities that currently revolve around his parents and their children.

Shanti calls Mangal and urges her to come home soon. Mangal agrees. Kusum asks about the food and Sudesh’s medicine. Mangal assures her everything is taken care of but adds that her mother is unwell, so she’s going to look after her. Kusum expresses concern over handling Sudesh alone, but Mangal promises to return soon and leaves.

At Kapil’s house, Pratima oversees the pooja arrangements. She notices Shanti looking uneasy and reassures her, saying Mangal will be happy in the end, so there’s no need to feel guilty about the lie they told to bring her there.

Back home, Adit walks in cheerfully. Sowmya asks the reason for his happiness. Adit says that life should be lived as it comes and shares that Kapil is getting engaged—debunking her claim that Kapil and Mangal were romantically involved. He adds that he always knew Mangal would never agree to marry anyone. Shocked, Sowmya asks whom Kapil is marrying, but Adit says he doesn’t care to know.

When Mangal arrives at Kapil’s house, she’s stunned to see the pooja preparations. She anxiously asks Pratima if something is wrong with Shanti. Pratima assures her Shanti is fine and adorns Mangal with a necklace, bangles, and a red dupatta. Realizing she’s been misled, Mangal asks why they lied. Shanti explains that if she had told her the real reason—to finalize Mangal’s engagement with Kapil—she wouldn’t have come.

Mangal asks why there’s such urgency and insists she needs time to speak with Kusum. Shanti, however, tells her that Kusum doesn’t need to know, and if Mangal’s promises are true, then she should sit for the pooja. Otherwise, Shanti declares, she’ll stop taking her medicines. Mangal is left in a dilemma, silently absorbing the pressure around her.
