Scene 1
Shanti welcomes Gayatri and Kusum. They asked Karthik didn’t come. Kusum says he had to go for a recording. We will do the custom as elders. Mangal comes there and looks at Shanti in anger. Gayatri says you look worried. Kusum says Mangal is happy her sister will get the best proposal today. She asks if is she ready. Shanti says yes. Let me bring her. Shanti goes inside. Shanti says to Lipika let’s go. When they see your face they will not even think about Lakshmi. Lakshmi serves the juice in bad clothes. Kusum and Gayatri are shocked to see her. Gayatri says why is she like this? She looks like a maid. mangal asks why is she getting ready and Lakshi working in the kitchen. Shanti says they’re both where they deserve to be. They are here to see Lipika. Mangal says what?
Kusum says Lakshmi what is this? Why are you not ready? You’re acting as if we came casually? She says It’s a special day go and get ready. Lakshmi wonders why is everyone after her getting ready. Mangal says to Shanti I know you did all this intentionally. Don’t make a joke of yourself. Shanti says let’s go there and see. She takes Lipika out.
Lakshmi says sorry Aunty. I didn’t get time. I was in the kitchen. She says what are the rest of the people doing? Shanti says we’re here. your to-be DIL is here. She brings Lipika all dressed up. Kusum and Gayatri are shocked. Kusum says what kind of joke is this? Why did you all not get Lakshmi ready? Mangal says mummy had a misunderstanding. She thought Lipika.. Shanti says now you listen to me. What did you think before bringing up Karthik’s proposal? There’s no match between Lakshmi and Karthik. Lipika is modern, educated, and good-looking. Kusum says we have to answer your mom back. Every mother wants the guy to be deserving of the girl. If the girl’s family is questioned between the two sisters, let’s show who deserves this proposal. Gayatri says we don’t need to change anything because of her. Lakshmi asks Mangal wasn’t the proposal for Lipika? Mangal says no we brought the proposal for you. Mummy caused this confusion. Shanti said to Lipika see they would agree now. Kusum asks Mangal to bring two pieces of paper and pens. Lakshmi says to Mangal if mom doesn’t want me to marry Karthik and Lipika to marry him, I will say no. Mangal says we all chose you, Gayatri chose you not Lipika. I don’t know why Mom is dragging Lipika. We could say no but I don’t know what Amma is planning now. Lipika says you didn’t even tell me. Mangal says Mummy didn’t let me talk to you. Do you wanna marry Karthik? Do you like him? She says yes. Mangal says if you have any issues let me know. Lakshmi asks do you like this proposal? Mangal says yes. She says if you like him I like him too.
Scene 3
Karthik calls Gayatri and asks where are you? She says where you should have come with me. I had to come here. I can’t back out. He says told you I won’t marry anyone else. She says it’s too late for yes and no now.
Kusum says today you both have this test. Imagine Karhtik has come home after a long tiring day. Lipika says juice. Kusum says yes, but write on paper what you’d add to the juice. They both sit down to write. Kusum says the time is over. She takes the paper. Lipika says you wrote in Hindi? Dumb. She mocks Lakshmi. Gayatri and Kusum read the papers and smiled. Kusum says the decision is made. We will make the DIL to wear the bangles. They make pick the bangles. Shanti extends Lipika’s hands. She says you wrote the right recipe for the juice Lipika but.. She makes Lakshmi wear the bangles. Lipika and Shanti are shocked.
