Kapil praises Mangal, saying, “Hats off to you for always choosing the right path,” and adds that his respect for her has grown. Mangal responds that she has completed her work and needs to leave, as it’s 2 p.m. and time to give medicine to her father. Kapil agrees.
Meanwhile, Lipika, emotional, asks Shanti if she will ever get married. Shanti reassures her, saying her marriage will happen one day. Lipika, disheartened, wonders how that’s possible when no one is willing to marry her. Just then, Nitin steps forward and announces that he will marry Lipika. Shocked, Shanti confronts him for entering their house and tries to throw a vase at him. Nitin pleads for a chance to explain.
Back at home, Kapil tells Pratima that he’s feeling happy because Mangal has agreed to help with the work. When Pratima reminds him that he earlier insisted he could manage alone, Kapil says accepting help when offered is also important. Pratima remarks that Mangal is now working from home while juggling Adit’s household too. Kapil clarifies that Mangal is only pretending to be Adit’s wife for Sudesh’s sake, as any emotional shock could worsen his memory recovery. He then leaves.
Nitin continues to assert to Lipika and Shanti that only he is ready to marry Lipika. He reminds them that Lipika’s previous wedding was called off and now another proposal has failed. He blames Mangal for damaging the family’s reputation, stating she’s divorced but still lives with Adit. He tells Lipika that she once wished for a wealthy husband—and he has the money to fulfill that wish.
At Adit’s house, Mangal prepares for work when Shanti arrives, informing her that a wedding proposal has come for Lipika and she has accepted it. Surprised, Mangal asks why she wasn’t told earlier and inquires about the groom. Shanti shows her the wedding card, and Mangal is stunned to read the name “Nitin Bharadwaj.” She asks if it’s the same Nitin who once proposed to Lakshmi. Shanti confirms.
Shocked, Mangal questions Shanti’s choice. Shanti explains that no one else is willing to marry Lipika. When Mangal asks why, Shanti reveals that a potential groom’s family rejected Lipika’s alliance that very morning, saying her elder sister is divorced and still lives with her ex-husband and his wife. They even demanded a huge dowry, which Shanti couldn’t fulfill. She blames Mangal for all of it, saying Lipika remains unmarried because of her.
Shanti pleads with Mangal to remarry and clear the social stigma. Mangal refuses, saying marriage isn’t everything in life. Shanti angrily questions why, if that’s the case, she’s still living under the same roof after Adit divorced her. She accuses Mangal of ruining Lipika’s chances and says people are now gossiping that Mangal is having an affair with her boss. Mangal urges her to ignore such baseless talk, but overwhelmed, Shanti breaks down, lamenting that both her daughters’ lives are in ruins. She collapses onto the sofa in despair, leaving Mangal deeply anxious and troubled.
