At the mandap, Kapil admits to Mangal that she is right—it’s better that they don’t get married. He reflects that despite living together for so long, they never truly understood each other, and this makes it better that their wedding is called off. In a symbolic gesture, he removes his turban and throws it to the floor.
Akshat approaches Mangal, asking if she’s okay. She reassures him that she’s fine, hugs her children tightly, and tells Akshat not to cry. “Let’s go home,” she says gently. Akshat nods, and Mangal leaves the mandap with her kids, leaving the ceremony behind.
At home, Kusum advises Mangal to change her dress and rest, acknowledging the heavy decision she made for her children. Mangal takes her children inside, while Kusum heads to the mandir to light a diya. Adit notices Mangal at home and wonders why she didn’t go through with her wedding. Kusum explains to Sudesh that Mangal proved her loyalty to their family by calling off her marriage with Kapil, leaving Adit shocked.
Mangal settles Akshat for sleep and notices Ishana crying under the blanket. Ishana says she’ll return later and heads to the washroom. As Mangal helps her children, memories of Chinta Bua’s accusations and the events at the mandap flood her mind. In his sleep, Akshat murmurs, “Don’t leave us alone, Mom. They’re so bad,” almost falling off the bed. Adit catches him just in time. Mangal comforts Akshat, assuring him he is safe.
Later, Adit confronts Mangal, saying, “I warned you about marrying Kapil, but you didn’t listen. Now our kids are suffering because of your choices. Please stop making wrong decisions and stay here so we can live peacefully.” He leaves, and Mangal is left in tears, clutching a photo frame of her children.
Meanwhile, Sudesh wakes and questions Kusum about her activities. Kusum explains she is preparing a shagun thali for Mangal, glad that she broke off her marriage with Kapil and is willing to give Adit another chance. She says that with Sowmya out of the picture, Adit regrets his mistakes, and their reunion will be perfect. Sudesh asks her to speak with Mangal, but Kusum says Mangal always listens to her, and tomorrow she will offer the shagun thali, hoping Mata Rani’s blessings will restore happiness.
The next day, Kusum sees Mangal packing her luggage. She offers to arrange Mangal’s belongings in the cupboard, asking if she plans to go out with the children. Mangal stops her. Kusum then offers to accompany her and asks for details so they can pack. At that moment, Adit comes out asking for coffee but gets hit by a suitcase. Kusum explains they are going on a picnic and invites Adit to join, but Mangal firmly says, “Not everyone. I’m leaving.”
Kusum tries to persuade Mangal, showing the shagun thali and asking Adit to place the nuptial chain around Mangal’s neck. “Forget the past and give your relationship another chance,” she urges. Mangal exchanges a glance with Adit and responds, “This isn’t right. I can’t wear this mangalsutra.” Kusum asks if she is still angry with Adit, reminding her that she broke off her marriage with Kapil. Mangal clarifies, “I didn’t end that marriage to give Adit another chance. Would you say the same if Sowmya were still here? I just want to leave this house with my kids and start a new life.” Kusum is left shocked, dropping the shagun thali in disbelief.
