Mangal Lakshmi 16th October 2025 Written Episode, Written Update on TellyUpdates.com
Mangal confronts Kapil, asking why Pratima insists that her children will stay at their grandparents’ house. She reminds him of his promise that the kids could live with them. Chinta Bua intervenes, saying the children belong at their father’s house and only want Kapil. Kapil tries to calm her, but she ignores him, insisting to Mangal, “I don’t know what Kapil told you, but the truth is, your kids must stay at your first sasural.” Kapil explains that the situation is complicated, and he had been waiting for the right time to inform his family. Mangal questions him sharply: “When were you planning to tell them? We’re about to marry, and you’ve said nothing until now.”
Pratima adds, “Kapil has supported you until now, Mangal, but why should we accept your children?” She permits occasional visits but forbids them from moving in permanently, demanding Mangal respond. Mangal defers to Kapil, who remains silent. Chinta Bua escalates the tension, complaining about the humiliation in front of guests. While moving near the mandap, she accidentally pulls down a decorated cloth, which catches fire from a lit diya. Kapil rushes to help her, and Mangal’s family members scramble, unaware that the mandap is ablaze.
Mangal recalls her struggles and sacrifices. Shanti notices the fire and alerts everyone, helping extinguish it. Chinta Bua declares the incident inauspicious, claiming Mangal brings bad luck despite her good name. Mangal, moved and resolute, tells Kapil, “I worked so hard on the Pehla Swad project to buy a house for my kids and live with them. I thought you would accept me along with my children, which is why I agreed to marry you. I can give up everything, but I cannot leave my kids—they are my world, my life, my everything.” She asks Kapil to forgive her and firmly announces that she cannot go through with the marriage, shocking everyone.
Chinta Bua lashes out, accusing Mangal of creating unnecessary drama and never being ready to marry Kapil due to her attachment to her first husband. Kusum questions her claims, but Chinta Bua insists that Mangal remains tied to her past and criticizes her character. Mangal calmly replies that her decisions are always for the sake of her children. Chinta Bua complains that Kapil’s baraat will leave without a wedding and pretends to feel unwell, prompting Bijli to give her BP medicine.
Pratima pressures Mangal, saying the family accepted her and her past, so why back out now? Mangal thanks them but explains that they only accepted her, not her children, and reiterates, “I cannot live without my kids.” Pratima asks Shanti to intervene, insisting that Mangal must marry to avoid humiliation. Shanti gently supports Mangal, placing her hand on her head and saying, “Give me a promise that you will not marry. Your decision is right, and I am with you. I want your happiness, not your marriage. Your happiness is with your children. You are a better mother than me, and your decisions are never wrong.”
Mangal hugs Shanti, tears of relief and gratitude in her eyes. Chinta Bua comments to Pratima, “I told you before—you chose the wrong family for Kapil.” Shanti challenges Pratima’s traditional mindset, saying marriage should unite families, not separate a mother from her children. She affirms that Mangal is independent and capable of living alone without relying on a man. Pratima tries to speak, but Kapil stops her, saying, “Let’s go, Mom.” Mangal attempts to talk to Kapil, but he gently restrains her, honoring her decision.
Precap: Mangal leaves Adit’s house, taking her children with her.
