Kusum confesses to Mangal that she hasn’t prepared food for an order due the next day and asks for help. Mangal reassures her, promising to handle everything. As Kusum leaves, she reflects on how Mangal has taken on all the household responsibilities. Mangal, in turn, realizes she needs to find a job soon.
The next day, Mangal pretends to be making a delivery when Kusum suggests including gajar ka halwa. Mangal refuses, but Kusum insists. As she moves forward, she trips, and Mangal drops the boxes while catching her. Kusum notices that one box is empty and questions Mangal. When she hesitates, Sowmya demands to check the other boxes, discovering they’re all empty. She then exposes Mangal’s secret—she has lost her job. Sowmya insults her, questioning why she’s still going out. Mangal snaps back, reminding Sowmya that her life choices are none of her business.
Adit intervenes, revealing that Mangal lost her job because of him—his actions led to her dismissal. When Sowmya dismisses his guilt, Adit holds her responsible as well and demands she apologize to Mangal. Sowmya refuses and walks away. Kusum, disheartened, worries about how they will manage, especially with Sudesh’s health condition and both Mangal and Adit unemployed. Mangal comforts her, promising they will find a way. When Kusum questions how she will earn money without experience, Mangal reminds her that she was the one who always encouraged her to stand on her own.
Meanwhile, Sowmya lashes out at Adit for quitting his job, blaming him for their financial burden. She storms off, and her inner voice warns her that without Adit, she is nothing. Realizing she can’t afford to lose him, she begins to reconsider her attitude.
At dinner, Karthik notices all the food is his favorite and thanks Lakshmi for making it. Later, he and Jia eat together before Jia offers to drop Lakshmi home. However, Gayatri stops them, revealing that Shanti has thrown Lakshmi out. She declares that Lakshmi will be staying with them, to which Karthik agrees. Gayatri also reminds Lakshmi that despite Karthik’s memory loss, she is still his wife.
Lakshmi sees Karthik struggling with something and offers help. He asks her to stitch a “K” and a heart symbol on a handkerchief. She does so, but when he asks her to add a “J” for Jia, she accidentally pricks her finger. Seeing her in pain, Karthik decides to finish it himself. Jia arrives just in time to see Karthik kneeling before her, presenting the handkerchief and wishing her a happy Valentine’s Day. She thanks him but quickly notices a mistake—he has stitched an “L” instead of a “J.” Karthik apologizes for the slip, but Lakshmi secretly takes comfort in his mistake, feeling a sense of hope.
