Sowmya furiously confronts Adit, demanding to know why everyone is treating Mangal as his wife and why he appears content with it. She accuses him of clinging to memories of his first marriage. Adit firmly rebukes her, stating his focus is only on his father’s health. Disappointed, he says, “I never expected you to think so low,” and walks away, refusing further discussion. Frustrated, Sowmya suspects Adit is beginning to align with Mangal and fears Sudesh might remember her pushing him into the well.
At the temple, Kusum brings Sudesh, who notices Mangal isn’t wearing sindoor or her mangalsutra. Using gestures, he questions her. Kusum interprets and tells Mangal that Sudesh is asking about her marital symbols. Mangal recalls the doctor’s warning not to reveal the truth. Kusum assumes
Elsewhere, Sowmya clutches the mangalsutra in anger and drops it. Sudesh sees her, and Adit quickly rushes to her aid. Sudesh asks, “Who is Sowmya?” Kusum swiftly lies that she’s a friend’s daughter temporarily staying with them. Sowmya silently exits.
Still bitter, Sowmya vows never to return the mangalsutra she took from Mangal. Adit and Kusum arrive—Adit asks her not to take it personally, while Kusum reminds her this is for Sudesh’s recovery. Sowmya protests, questioning how they can ask a married woman to remove her symbols. Kusum firmly replies that they belong to Mangal, a true suhagan, and reminds Sowmya of her promise to help with Sudesh’s healing. Adit also urges her, and when Kusum threatens to forcibly take it, Sowmya reluctantly returns the mangalsutra.
Back at the temple, Mangal requests to start the pooja as the muhurat is slipping, but Sudesh refuses. Kusum insists the rituals must happen on time and urges Mangal to wear the mangalsutra. Mangal, shocked, recalls giving it to Sowmya. She receives it just then and, under Adit’s nod, puts it on. Kusum tells her to apply sindoor next. Mangal hesitates, then gets a call from Kapil, but Kusum disconnects it, saying the pooja matters more. With tears in her eyes, Mangal applies sindoor for Sudesh’s sake.
Sowmya watches the rituals in rage, seeing Adit and Mangal perform as husband and wife, and storms away. Later, Adit reassures Sowmya that all of this is only for Sudesh’s well-being, and that he never made Mangal wear the marital symbols himself. Alone, Mangal looks into the mirror and thinks, “This sindoor and mangalsutra belong to someone else. To me, they feel like a burden.”
