On her birthday, Ishana feels upset seeing Kapil and coldly thanks him after he wishes her. She recalls how he had once slapped her father, Adit. Meanwhile, Pratima assures Mangal that Kapil is good with children, and Mangal goes to get juice.
Kapil asks to speak with Ishana, and she leads him to a room under the pretense of loud music. There, Kapil apologizes for hitting Adit and offers a gift, hoping for a fresh start. Ishana angrily rejects the gesture, accuses him of faking concern, and steps on the gift. Kapil mentions that Mangal is worried and urges for peace, but Ishana reveals she recorded his earlier confession and refuses to believe his intentions.
Outside, Kusum tells Pratima that she and her husband will perform Mangal’s kanyadaan, expressing joy over Mangal’s second marriage. Pratima is touched, while Sowmya watches suspiciously, thinking even friends can turn into foes. Yash, Ishana’s friend, arrives, and Mangal welcomes him.
Back in the room, Kapil tries to clarify that Ishana misunderstood his conversation with his mother and insists he never intended to separate Mangal from her kids. As the argument escalates, Ishana provokes Kapil, grabs his hand, and forces it onto her face to make it seem like he slapped her—just as Yash witnesses everything.
While Mangal brings out the cake and asks Akshat to call Ishana, Adit offers to go instead. Kapil exits the room and approaches Mangal, saying something went wrong. Just then, Adit confronts Kapil, pointing at Ishana’s cheek and demanding an explanation. Ishana appears tearful, and Mangal asks what happened. Kapil insists he didn’t hit her, but Ishana uses the moment to frame him, thinking Mangal will never forgive him now.
Kapil pleads for trust, but Ishana turns the situation, saying Kapil has always disliked her and Akshat. Mangal listens silently, caught between trust and suspicion.
