Maitree fame Shrenu Parikh opens up about her marriage plans; says, “Akshay and I will get married by the end of this year”

Maitree fame Shrenu Parikh recently revealed her relationship status and shared that she is not single anymore. During an interview, the actress talked about it and said, “Well, let me tell you that I am very much committed to Akshay Mhatre.”

When asked why she kept her relationship under wraps, she replied, “Both, Akshay and I took, the time to make this official to the world because we first wanted to be sure about each other. Being public figures, we didn’t want anyone else to tell to our parents before we do or they read it in the newspapers and woh bole kya tum dono committed ho? So we kept it under wraps. We both were quite clear from day one that we will not go ahead with our relationship if our families don’t agree to it. Both Akshay and I are quite family oriented and similar on this front.”

Talking about how they convinced their parents, she said, “Well for Akshay it was quite easy. I remember he introduced me to his family as a co-actress though they guess that was what we were up to. However, it wasn’t so easy for me to convince my parents as they always wanted me to get married to a Gujarati guy, also Akshay being an actor too was an issue, not a major one though. They tried convincing me to give our relationship a second thought but finally, when they met Akshay a few times, they liked him a lot. And finally agreed to our relationship.”

When asked about their plans for marriage, Shrenu said, “Not at the moment though it was sometime back, and then I signed in for this daily show which is my priority at the moment. I am shooting for seven days a month for this daily. So the marriage has taken a little back seat but things are gradually developing on that front. Hopefully, Akshay and I will get married by the end of this year.”
