Maitree promising Swayam that nothing bad will happen to him. Swayam says he’s OK and requests permission to phone her mother. Yes, Maitree says, I’m your mother. Swayam inquires about his father. He presses Maitree to respond. Yash introduces himself to Swayam as his father. Maitree is stunned. Yash tells Swayam that he has always wanted a son like him. Swayam is asked if he accepts him as his father. Maitree requests that Swayam sleep. She puts Swayam to sleep.
Yash is led downstairs by Maitree. She questioned why he did it in front of Swayam and whether he is aware of what he has done. She says I respect you, but I’ve never thought of our relationship in that light. Yash says he considers her a friend as well. He informs her that he wishes to marry her for Swayam’s sake.
Tiwaris hears the sound of a beckoning bell. They consider who returned home at this time. Sona opens the door and smiles as she sees Maitree. Maitree goes to Harsh and begs him to give his name to her son and to become Swayam’s father. The Tiwari family is overjoyed to hear this. Maitree requests that Harsh grant her wish. Harsh claims he would never be a father to her illegitimate child because he believes her lies. Maitree says I already knew your answer, but I came here with optimism because you’re always my first priority, but you utterly crushed me, so I took a decent break.
Harsh claims to have made a decision as well. He declares that he is ending their relationship and requests that she return the nuptial chain. Maitree takes off her mangal sutra. She gives the mangal sutra to Harsh and informs him that his refusal to grant her request permanently ends their relationship. Maitree then departs.
Harsh is chastised by Sona for losing a gem like Maitree in his ego. She goes to her room. In weeping, Maitree walks lifelessly down the road. Harsh recalls Maitree’s remarks and sobs while clutching the nuptial chain. Harsh afterwards realises he has emptied the wine bottle. Angrily, he punches the closet while holding the Mangalsutra. Nandini arrives and begs him not to injure himself. She ties a kerchief across his wound. Harsh tells Nandini that he was made alone by everyone. Nandini claims to be there for him as a friend. Harsh claims that no one is looking out for him.
He sees a shattered mangal sutra and declares that Maitree has triumphed. Harsh emerges from the room. Maitree informs him that he is inebriated and requests that he not disrupt others. Harsh wonders if Nandini is that horrible. He’s about to tumble. Nandini grabs him and forces him to sit in the chair. He falls asleep while clutching her hand. Nandini struggles unsuccessfully to reclaim her hand. She is powerless while she sits there.
Maitree has returned home. Yash inquires as to where Maitree has gone and why she has not returned his calls. According to Maitree, I went to give Harsh one final opportunity, but Harsh killed my hope and the love we shared. She looks in the mirror and sobs as she sees her empty neck. Harsh, according to Maitree, refused to take my Swayam.
