Karan Singh Grover and Surbhi Jyoti won our hearts when they starred in Qubool Hai together 8 years ago. The show was insanely popular and now after almost a decade the duo is coming back with another season of the show. The twist is that this time Qubool Hai will be returning as a web show. Karan and Surbhi’s crackling chemistry in Qubool Hai is still fresh in our minds. and we just can’t wait to see it again.
The show will be premiered on Zee 5. It will be directed by Ankush Mohla and Glen Barretto and will also feature Arif Zakaria and Mandira Bedi. It will be a 10-episode romantic drama and is being produced by Mrinal Abhigyan Jha under the banner MAJ Productions. The shooting of the show will begin this month and the show will release next year.
The latest we hear is that Mahabharat actor Sourabh Raaj Jain will be doing a cameo in the show as well. Sourabh will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar and will essay a negative character.
Sourabh Raaj Jain was last seen as Neil Oberoi opposite Ashnoor Kaur in Patiala Babes which went off-air abruptly. Talking about Qubool Hai 2.0, Karan Singh Grover said, “Qubool Hai did break stereotypes eight years ago and once again it will start conversations. The backdrop of the story will center around the lead couple. This time, the stakes are much much higher for Asad and Zoya and the scale is international. But the show will also reminisce the ethos of the original series to maintain the legacy of Asad and Zoya.”
“It’s a great initiative by Zee5 to bring back classic shows in a way that not only millennials but the avid TV lovers could enjoy it in a rejuvenated manner. We are looking forward to start shooting and hope people shower the web series version with the same love as they have earlier. I am extremely excited to kickstart this project, “he added.
