Mahabharat fame Rohit Bhardwaj on parting ways with his wife

Rohit Bhardwaj, who is known for essaying the role of Yudhishthira in Mahabharat has been missing from the small screen for the past few years.

The actor was going through a tough phase where apart from dealing with issues in his marriage he also lost his mother.

Rohit is currently dealing with the divorce proceedings with his estranged wife Poonam Bhardwaj. The actor talked about it during a recent interview with BT and shared, “I am staying alone for the last four-five years. There were differences from the beginning, which kept escalating, especially after I returned from Indonesia. I tried to sort things out with my wife, but couldn’t save the marriage. It was marred by differences of opinion and compatibility issues. The divorce is in the process and should be through in two months.”

Talking about losing his mother, he said, “She suffered a cardiac arrest and I am still recovering from the loss. I’ve been shuffling between Mumbai and Delhi to spend time with my father, who is now all alone.”

Talking about his 10-year-old daughter, Rohit said, “I haven’t seen my daughter in two years. Maa chali gayi, aur daughter door ho gayi. I was going through emotional turmoil and went into a shell.”

Amidst all this, the pandemic made things worse for him. He shared, “I came back from Indonesia and produced a web series, which didn’t do well. I also tried my luck in films and web series, as I wanted to explore new mediums. In the process, I declined a few TV shows. But the pandemic put everything on hold. I hope that things will fall into place soon.”

Rohit concluded by saying,  “It has taken me a lot of time to come to terms with what has happened but I am stronger today. I am a changed person. All I want is to do good work and make my parents and daughter proud.”
