Neil: (Closing his yes tight, and mumbled.) I shot Arjun…
Athu: What rubbish…? Why did you even do that…?
Kittu: Are you insane…?
Radhika: (Was quiet the whole time.)
Neil: (Opened his eyes slowly to see the ghost struck face of his siblings. His eyes settled on Radhika and waited for her reaction.)
Radhika: (Spokenothing. After few minutes, she walked off the room.)
Neil: (Let out a long sigh.)
Athu: (Spoke nothing more. He was just looking at his older brother.)
Kittu: Why did you do that…? (He voiced out his thoughts as he was sure about some reason behind his action. You see same wave length and thinking.)
Athu: (Hearing his twin brother, he was forced to think about his words. As he was sure, his twin would always have a reason behind his every single word.)
Both the brothers were looking at their older brother with expectation filled eyes. After few minutes of silence,
Athu: Now quit this silence and spill out…
Neil: (Narrated every single word exchanged between him and Arjun.)
Kittu: He was absolutely right… You have us beside you always… And I would expect you to come to me in first hand… Hope that was something beyond my expectation, being a step-brother…
Neil: (Getting hold of his shoulders tightly.) Now where the hell did that come from…?
Kittu: (Spoke nothing.)
Athu: I understand you were pissed off with his words, but what you did is not right… We could have lost him… I have no strength to lose anyone, anymore… (And walked off to the balcony.)
Neil: (Closed his eyes tight and let out a hard sigh.)
Kittu: (Noticing his state, he simply hugged him, taking Neil surprised with his action.) Nikki bro, I know we mean a lot to you… But trust me, as Ajju bro said, I would be happy if you come to me in first place… I would like to be around you and support you, instead of left behind moaning on the loss…
Neil: (Reciprocated his hug and held him tight in his embrace.) Relax champ…
Kittu: Promise to hold on to your anger… I know it is difficult, but we can at least try…
Neil: (Chuckled.) You too have the temper issues… (It was a statement, not a question.)
Kittu: (Making faces, he hummed.) And I do get beaten up by my little devil and your cute angel, who is actually a monster…
Neil: (Smacking his head.) Dare you speak about my little girl like that…
Kittu: (Giggled and hugged him tighter.)
Neil: Kittu…
Kittu: (Lifting his head to look at his brother.) Hmmm…
Neil: (Ruffling his hair.) Help me in convincing the devil and the monster…
Kittu: (Giggled and nodded his head affirmative.)
Next Morning,
Radhika and Athu was sleeping peacefully. Last night, Radhika came to the room too late after wandering around the hotel. She found Athu seated on the couch. She pulled him along with her and made him sleep and slept with him in her embrace. She completely avoided Neil and Kittu, who were seated in the other side of the couch.
Kittu: Nikki bro, we have to convince them soon… Or else, for sure they are going to torture us to death…
Neil: Hmmm… True, and last night ignoring us was just a beginning…
Kittu: Hmmm…
Neil: But, I didn’t understand one thing…
Kittu: What…?
Neil: Why did they avoid you…?
Kittu: Because they know I had patched up with you… They are too good in understanding me…
Neil: Oh… (He found Kittu glaring at him.) What…?
Kittu: Oh…? Just an ‘OH’…?
Neil: (He gave him a sheepish grin.)
Kittu: (Mumbled.) I’ll make sure to extract the capital and interest of all this from you… (And stepped towards the bed.)
Neil: (Stepped behind him.) What are you going to do…?
Kittu: (Startled, turned towards him. Glaring and then smiling, he said.) Not me, you, you’re going to do…
Neil: Me…?
Kittu: (Shrugged his shoulders.)
Neil: (Was making faces, suddenly his eyes widened looking at the scene in front of him.)
The very next moment, the two souls who were spread peacefully on the bed were throwing death glares at him. He was confused, why and averted his gaze to the person behind all this and found with an empty space. That is when he realized the inner punch of his little brother’s statement.
Radhika: I swear to God, Malhotra, you’re dead…
The next moment it was a disaster, in the room. It was a flying hair brush that welcomed the completely startled Arjun, and Sammy behind him.
Sammy: What the hell…? (She was gasping at the completely messed up room.)
Neil: Sam… (Ran and hid himself behind her.) Save me wifey…
Sammy: Stop it you three… What the hell is all this…? (Gesturing her hands around the room.)
Radhika and Athu: (Shrugged their shoulders and pointed towards Neil.)
Sammy: (Her glare settled on Neil.)
Neil: (His hand instantly raised towards something, in precise to someone.)
All turned their heads to find Kittu, who was rolling on the floor and was out of breath due to continuous laughing.
Neil: (Let out a angry sigh and marched towards Kittu.) You little monster…
Kittu: (Was alerted with his cuss and jolted out of his position and again there began a ‘chase me’ game.)
Sammy: (Banged her head and pulled Kittu towards her and stopped the two crazy brothers from creating a chaos again.) Now, stop it you two… No more chaos in my family… (Glaring at them.)
Kittu: Sorry SB… (Kissed her cheek and went and sat next to his twin brother.)
Neil: Hey, (pulling Sammy into his arms) better find yourself a girl, and stay away from mine…
Sammy: (Elbowed him.) Shut up, Neil… Remember, you’re speaking to a fifteen year old kid…
Neil: Kid and this creature… Get yourself checked darling, he is anything, but a kid… (He made his way to Kittu, sat near him and pulled his ear.)
Kittu: Ouch… Nikki bro…
Radhika & Athu: (Chuckled.)
Neil: (Going on his knees in front of his sister and the other twin.) Sorry…
Radhika: (Said nothing, she held her gaze fixed on him for few seconds and diverted it towards Athu, who understood her.)
Athu: It is not we (pointing towards him and Radhika), but him (pointing towards Arjun), you need to apologize…
Neil: (Making faces, he scoffed.) And why would I…?
Radhika: (Gave him a ‘are you insane’ look.)
Neil: (Letting out a long breath, he stood and stepped towards Arjun. He was scratching the back of his neck.)
But before he could even bring himself and compose a word, he was pulled into a warm, bro hug by Arjun. He reciprocated the hug instantly, as he could get mad at him, but never be without him or his support. These few years had turned them inseparables, but both being hot and stubborn heads, never accepts the truth of their relationship.
Sammy: (Had a warm smile on her face.)
Athu & Kittu: (Shared a hi-fi.)
Radhika: (Smiled wide.)
Arjun: (His gaze fell on Radhika, and the world became still for him. There was no one around him, except the lady in front of him.)
Sammy: (Noticed Arjun’s gaze on a particular direction and turned to get shocked. She was more than shocked to see his eyes locked with Radhika and lost in each other’s eyes.)
The two little devil’s giggles brought everyone back to their sense.
Sammy: (Narrowed her eyes on them.)
Kittu & Athu: (Passed her a look that, ‘yes, it is true’.)
Sammy: (Giggled.)
Neil: What is that…?
Kittu & Athu: Ask your wifey… (And they went hand-in-hand to the balcony.)
Arjun: (Walked behind the twins, breaking his thoughts and gaze from Radhika.)
Radhika: I’ll go freshen up… (And walked to the bathroom.)
Sammy: (Was still smiling.)
A pair of hands snaked around her waist. She was startled, but the cologne of her man relaxed her instantly. She stood silently in his arms. She could feel his breath on her skin, making the hair behind her neck to stand erect. The tip of his nose made shapes on her skin, in the crook of the neck. She was breathing heavily.
Sammy: (She moaned his name.) Neil…
Neil: (He tightened his hold on her as a response. And he blew on her skin.)
Sammy: (Couldn’t take it anymore, she turned around and hugged him tight, burying her head in the crook of his neck.)
Neil: (Smiled sensuously and pulled her more into him. He placed a tender kiss on her cheek and trailed kisses to her jawline, chin, and neck.)
Their trance was broken by,
Get a room you two…
They turned to find the twins with a scowl on their faces. Arjun was just behind them, trying to hide his smile.
They heard the opening and closing of the door and turned to find Parth in the entrance.
Neil: Yes, Parth…
Parth: Boss, you’re needed in the office…
Neil: (Absorbed his tensed figure and shared a look with Arjun.)
Arjun: (Marched out of the room. Parth following him.)
Sammy: (Murmured.) Neil…
Neil: (Breathed a kiss on her forehead.) (To the twins.) Guys, freshen up and do anything around this floor… Don’t try to step down until or unless either me or Arjun is around… Are we clear…?
Kittu & Athu: (Nodded affirmative.)
Neil: (Shared a look with Sammy and gestured her to be with his siblings.)
Sammy: (Understanding his gesture, blinked her eyelids promising him their safety.)
Neil: (Was about to walk out, but stopped in his way by Kittu.)
Kittu: Don’t forget my words, Nikki bro… Ajju bro was right about us…
Neil: (Spoke nothing, he even didn’t turn towards him. He let out a deep breath and marched out of the room.)
Radhika who stepped out of the bathroom asked,
Radhika: Where is Nikki…?
Sammy: (Walking towards her.) He had some work, so he just stepped out to his office… He’ll be back soon… (To the twins.) Guys, go freshen up, by the time we’ll order the breakfast…
Kittu & Athu: (Nodded affirmative and walked off.)
Radhika: Sam, is everything fine…?
Sammy: Yes, Radhika, everything is fine… Parth came announcing some important work… He’ll be back soon…
Radhika: (Could sense some tension in her voice and gesture, but decided to let it go as of now.)
