Maddam Sir fame Malini Kapoor talks about her marriage with actor Ajay Sharma
Actress Malini Kapoor, who is known for her role in shows like Sargam Ki Sadhe Satii and Maddam Sir met her prince charming on the sets of Love U Zindagi. The actress talked about her marriage with actor Ajay Sharma during a recent interview and shared that it was totally unplanned.
She said, “I still remember the first time I met Ajay. It was on the sets of Love U Zindagi. It was just after Diwali, as he performed some ritual at home and had arrived putting kajal and looking at him I was laughing nonstop. Little did I know that I’ll marry him.”
“Soon we became friends and started meeting occasionally and later we started seeing each other. Our family learned that very soon and kept asking about our plans. And the answer for the longest time was – we don’t know yet. My sister Shalini (Sirf Tum actress) was my local guardian, she along with my parents met Ajay’s parents here in mumbai, as they arrived here from Jaipur for some other family function. Ajay’s family too was looking for a girl for him and they loved me as his friend. So even before I could learn all about it, surprisingly my engagement was fixed.”
She added, “I was shooting for Savdhan India – that time and was simply informed that Im getting engaged the next day. Guess who chose my ring – my sister. Ajay and I both were in a state of surprise and shock at the same time. We were given an ultimatum- either we get married in the next 20 days or we forget about each other forever. Guess they were done with our confusion. I was so confused whether this was a love marriage or arranged marriage. I spoke with Ajay and we decided to take the plunge and the next day we got engaged and within 20 days we were married.”
Malini shared that she is happily married and thankful to have Ajay as her husband. “As we both are inter-caste, he’s a Marwadi and I’m Punjabi. We faced lots of challenges but are now enjoying a mixed, yet interesting lifestyle. We have been there for each other in all the ups and downs. And still sailing.”
Ajay is currently seen in Naagin 6 and Punyashlok Ahilyabai.
