Naina hold the cassette next to her heart… when they settled on the train…She bargained with Preeti for the window seat…And finally she allowed her… She took a deep breath as the train started it’s engine… She felt a knot in her stomach… two days…Without Sameer…She can’t even think about it… but she has his voice… she hold the cassette more closer…

Two days went like two years…for her… and she felt something wrong…And she wanted to run away… from her village to Ahmedabad..To her Love…To Sameer…

She was jumping with happiness when they reached back… First thing she wanted to do was call Sameer..To make sure everything was okay.. coz she had a gut feeling… Something wrong happened with Sameer…

Her gut feeling became true as she saw Munna and Pandit near her home as if they were waiting for her.. From their face she could read something…Not good.. she looked around make sure no one noticed Munna and Pandit… so she gestured them to call…

The very second they enter the landline ringed… Chachiji got irritated…”Kaun mari jaa rahi Hai… Naina.. beta..tum dekho…kaun hai..”

Naina took the call…. “Hello… Swati….everything alright…”

Munna doesn’t know what to say.. “Hmm…. Naina….wo..Sameer…”

“ Samee…” she cut it out… “Swati…. What happened..”

Munna was on the verge of cry… “Naina… Sameer’s Nanaji…He is…He… is….at hospital had a heart attack…”

Naina felt a weakness on her knees…She stepped backward… she could hear sob from other side…

“ Sameer….” she whispered… Munna wiped off the tears… “ Naina…We need you… Sameer need you….. we don’t know what to do….how to calm down him…How to console… him… we really need you… Please… “

Naina sat on the floor… Sameer’s face flashed before her…. No…No.. I can’t sit here…I wanted to be with Sameer… I must go…But how… Preeti….her face lit up…but she nodded her head in negative… But somehow they managed to came out… Munna and Pandit they waiting for them in a rickshaw..

Naina was bit nervous…How to face him… Munna was telling he was fainted at the hospital… he didn’t eat or drink or sleep properly…For the last two days… Munna showed her Sameer’s room… she instructed them get something to eat from kitchen..

She looked at his door… he was there looking outside through window facing his back on her… so she knocked the door twice…As it was their code..

Sameer’s train of thoughts halted for an instance…His face lit up as the blood rushed to his face leaving a sweet redness on his face.. he tilted his head towards door… she was there with a concern face… he turned away… being rude…

She reached for him…but he moved before she could touch… “ S….ameer ” she whispered…. Every emotions mixed in that call….but he was angry… dunno why… so he didn’t turn…

Sameer felt a soft touch his shoulder… “ Sameer…” she called again…. He could measure the amount of pain in her voice… he shut his eyes… gritted his teeth…

“ Kyun… chali gayi thi… tum… kyun…huh… jab mujhe tumhara sabse zyaada… zaroorat tha.. “

Naina tried hard to hold her tears…

“ I’m….. sorry….” as some broken pieces of words came out…

Unknowingly one tear drop rolled out from his eyes too…

“ You know…. I was felt like all alone…. If Munna and Pandit.. weren’t there…I dunno what will I do…. “

“ Ab mein aa gayi hoon na….ek baar dekh lo…” she pleaded….

Sameer turned to her… they both were crying…

“ Sameer….. Please…Don’t cry….everything will be alright…”

“ I’m sorry… Naina…I know how hard it’s for you to come here….today.. jhoot bol ke…..aayi hoga…. Hai na…

Yeah…I hope so….everything alright… ”

Munna got food…Handed to Naina… Sameer looked up…

“ Munna was saying you didn’t eat for two days…Is that true…” she interrogated… him…

“No…I..I was… just… I wasn’t feel to eat…”

“ Ok then…But you have to eat this….fast..”

Sameer looked at jilebi that placed in the corner… the memories flashed… When Nanaji made him eat…before he collapsed.. tears rolled down….

“Sameer…. kya huwa….” She asked him with concern…

“ Naina he made me eat jilebi….just before he collapsed on that day…He talked about you…He wanted to see you in that saree… and I promised him that I will click the picture of yours and show him….how you look in Nani’s saree…”

“ But….he didn’t wait for me… Naina…He was just…”

She never saw him…vulnerable like this… except in Mount Abu…When his mom ignored him…. She hold his hand gently…

“ Kuch nahi hoga….unko…kuch nahi hoga….”

He looked at her hand in his…The assurance he was getting from that hold…He tried to smile….a bit..Hoping nothing will happened to his Nanaji….

“ Last time when he got the attack… you were there Naina…You were there…But this… time…”

“ You were there…and you took him hospital on time….right…”

Sameer… looked at her…. She gestured him to eat…. He automatically opened his mouth.. Naina chirped….as she made him eat… they were aware of the little touch…They were getting…like some current passing through…and then smiled…

His eyes were tired…Coz of the stress he suffered in these two days… his face became dull… Naina noticed all these… she stood up with the empty plates..

“ Now…You should take rest….and I will leave…” she said…Placing them on table…

Sameer looked up…. “ No…..Please…mat jao…stay … little more… Naina… Please.. ”

Naina sighed.. and turned around… “ I want too…but. .. Sameer…please understand… ”

She set the bed…and eyed him to lay down…

He sat on the bed with a pout… She made angry face…and eyed him again…

“ Tum… itna… siddi kyun…ho…” he asked her…While laying down… she took the comforter..and tuck him in….

“ Kyun ki… Mujhe The great Sameer Maheswari ko sambhalna hai… usse sidd or gussa.. bohut aata hai…”

She feigned anger…that made him curved up his lips… She sat down near him… the wind blows his hair…made it falls over his sleepish eyes… Naina unaware of her hand moving towards him…and set his hair correct…

He couldn’t help it..As the results of two days struggles…made him doze off quicker than he thought…and also having a chat with Naina lightened his heart…

Naina watched him sleeping peacefully… she saw Preeti calling her…As it’s time… to go… she quickly stood up but something pull her…back… he didn’t slept… she tilted her head over her shoulder… saw him in deep sleep..as his mouth opened a little…

She smiled… widely…As she saw her sleeve was stuck on his watch… she freed it from the grip…and once again looked at his innocent face…..then left…
