Chapter 9: Where is Riddhima?
The episode starts with Vansh going straight out to the parking. Reaching his car. He punched it with full force making his own hand bleed.
V: Damn it!!! Damn it!!! Damn it!! It was not right. What did I just do. I never meant to hurt her physically. Yes!! I wanted to hurt her with my words but not physically!!! I had no such intentions!!
His guilt was overcoming his anger. He tried to calm himself.
V: Calm down Vansh! She is a doctor. She will treat herself. Its just a wound. She had given a hundred wounds of this kind to me. This is nothing in front of my pain and suffering. But!!!!! I should not have hurt her. Oh God!!! I should apologise to her. Whatever happened between us in the past but This was not right. I will apologise to her in the evening. Now I should go for the meeting. He drove his car away.
In the Hospital, Ishani and Sejal went home. Kabir and Aryan were busy in their own work. Angre went with Vansh. No one was aware of the recent fight between Vansh and Riddhima. Only Sia was left with Dadi to look after her. Sia was finding Riddhima to discuss dadi’s condition. She went to the ward and ask the nurse.
S: Miss Naina! Have you seen Dr. Riddhima?
N: Dr. Sia! I saw her going towards the operation theatre. A surgery was to be performed today so she went for the preparation. But!
S: But?
N: She herself needed first aid.
S: What!! Is she fine.
N: I don’t know Dr. Sia. But there was an injury on her head. The wound was bleeding. I offered help but she refused and rushed towards the OT.
S: Hmm. Ok thanks Naina!
S(to herself): I should text her to know if she is fine. But now she will be in OT. I should wait.
After an hour, Nurse told Sia that surgery has ended. But Riddhima is no where to be seen. Sia became worried and dialled her number But she didn’t picked up. So, she was about to text her when she received Riddhima’s text.
Conversation On messages,
R: Sia! I have a busy schedule today. I have assigned Dr. Shekhawat to perform Dadi’s Surgery. Don’t worry. You know He is the best surgeon. I am sorry I can’t be the part of this surgery because of my tight schedule. Dr. Gupta and Dr. Nandini will assist him. You complete all the formalities and get furthur details from Dr. Shekhawat. Dadi wil be fine!!
S: Ok Riddhima. I’ll talk to him.But are you fine? Nurse Naina told me about your wound. What happened?
R: It was nothing. Just twisted my ankle in haste and fell on the floor. I am fine. Thanks for asking.
S( herself): Why is she talking in a formal tone?
S: Are you sure?
R: Don’t waste time Sia. Talk to Dr. Shekhawat. Take care. Bye.
After this, Sia went to Dr. Shekhawat who informed her about performing surgery in the evening and gave all the details to her.
She immediately texted all the RaiSinghanias to reach hospital. Everyone reached within half hour. Vansh was worried for dadi. He wanna know every detail of the surgery so he asked about Riddhima
V: Where is Riddhima? I want all the details of the surgery.(inside) And I will apologise to her too.
S: Bhai! Riddhima is not here. She had texted me to inform about everything. She had arranged best equipments and assigned best surgeons for Dadi’s surgery.
She told him about Doctors who are performing this surgery and also about all the complications that were informed by Dr. Shekhawat. She also told them about Riddhima’s absence.
I: Its better she stays away. I don’t wanna see her around now.
Sejal: Not now Ishani.
Angre: I will go check once on all the arrangements.
Kabir was confused.
K: But as far as I know, Riddhima was to perform this surgery. She even had arranged everything then why she backed off at the last moment.
Vansh remembered the happenings of the morning,
V(to himself): So, she didn’t come as I asked her. I shouldn’t have talked this way. She was even hurt. But its fine as she is not here. Its the best for my family.
K: (to himself): Riddhima is never such. What happened all of a sudden that she left the most important person of her life. She was not ready to trust anyone for this surgery and then…. she just vanished. I am sure there is something fishy.
The same thoughts were striking in Aryan’s mind.
Kabir tried calling Riddhima but her phone was switched off.
Dadi was taken to the OT. Everyone was sitting outside. Everyone was praying for dadi’s safety. Sia who was observing Kabir’s nervousness asked him,
S: What happened kabir? You seem worried.
K: Sia! I am trying Riddhima’s phone. Her phone is switched off. She never switches off her phone. I have not seen her since morning and now I am worried about her.
S: Yaa. Today, Nurse Naina also told me about her.
She narrated everything which made kabir and aryan worried.
K: What!! What happened to her?
S: Don’t worry. I asked her on text when she informed about surgery. She said that she just fell on the floor and hit her head.
V(to himself): Oh god!, why did I hurt her. I am glad she didn’t tell anything to Sia. But an apology is still a debt on me. She is so stubborn. I just asked her to stay away but she has totally vanished.
Kabir and aryan became sure that something happened with her. But they didn’t find this the right time to contact her. So they waited till the surgery ended.
Everyone was waiting for the good news. For the health of dadi. Suddenly, a nurse came out. She was shouting and panting. She seemed panicked.
N: Hurry up! Bring the ventilator. We will lost the patient. Hurry up!
After her, doctor came out,
D: Nurse do it fast. Her vitals are dropping!!!
This shocked everyone who was waiting for a good news. Dadi’s condition was not stable. Vansh asked the doctor,
V: What happened?
D: The patient is not stable. We are trying our best. Just pray to God.
Saying so, the doctor went in leaving everyone shocked. Vansh had tears in his eyes. His dadi is his world. His everything. He was breaking from inside. He was scared of losing her. He was motionless trying to console his sisters but he himself was broken. Angre looked him and gestured him to go. He understood that Vansh needs alone time. He assured him nodding his head that he will take care of his sisters.
Kabir and aryan were equally worried for dadi and riddhima’s absence. They were outside the hospital trying to call Riddhma.
K: What happened so suddenly Aryan. She never does this.
A: I know kabir. She will never leave dadi in such condition. How can she. I hope everything is fine. Is it something related to that? But still she never goes unreachable.
K: Maybe. Or maybe some business work. But still her priority was THIS! Where is she?
Vansh was listening their conversation standing a lil bit far from them. He thought to himself,
V:What are they talking about? They are worried for her. Its not even 12 hours since she has disappeared but even I am worrid for her. She is so stubborn. I am sure she hadn’t bandaged her wound till now. I just asked her to stay away from my family. What was the reason to vanish like this. Always stupid and stubborn!! Look at Kabir and Aryan. They are so much worried about her. But she loves to make everyone panic. I should atleast tell them the reason of her absence.
Thinking so, he went towards them.
V: She is not here….As I asked her.
K: What?
V: I have done a deal with her. She will stay away from my family and in return, I will pay her whatever amount she wants.
A: What?? Its not true. She will never accept your deal. The matter is something else. She will not give a damn about your money.
V(inside): Same attitude!
K: Mr. Vansh! I respect you and your family so much but If I get to know that you are involved in her absence or If your try to hurt her,…
A(completing him): Then remember She has got two brothers who love her and care for her beyond limits.
V: Interesting very Interesting.(smirking)
K: Tell me what exactly happened between you two.
V: I have told what I wanted to. Rest is not important for you to know. And Neither did she accepted nor she rejected my deal. She showed some attitude as always and went away. (Smirking)
A: I think its not the time to discuss this. Kabir we will find her once the surgery ends. Lets go in.
They all went in. Everyone was extremely worried and tensed for dadi. They were waiting impatiently. Then, finally their wait came to an end. And the red light of OT turned off. Dr. Shekhawat came outside.
V: How is my Dadi doctor?
Dr. Your dadi is out of danger. The surgery was successful. She is fine now. She will get concious within 6 hours. Don’t worry.
V: Thank you so much.
S: Thank you so much Doctor for saving my dadi.
Dr: Oh please don’t thank me. You should thank Dr. Riddhima. If she hadn’t come in time then we would’ve probably lost the patient.
Everyone was shocked.
Aryan asked,
A: But Dr. Riddhima was not accompanying you in surgery. When did she come?
Dr: Yes. Actually, Dr. Riddhima has refused to be the part of this surgery but she was monitoring the surgery from the beginning on Camera. Ms. Suhasini’s condition was critical. So, the heart surgery was complicated. In the mid, her vitals started dropping. Anything could have happened. She could have slipped to coma or probably we had lost her. But then, observing her condition, Dr. Riddhima came and handled the surgery. She is master of tackling critical surgeries having complications. She handled the matter perfectly and saved her in time. If your dadi is alive today and absolutely fine then its just because of Dr. Riddhima. So you all should thank her.
K: But neither did we saw her going in nor coming out.
Dr: Oh yeah. She came from the back door meant for doctors only and went out from there too.
A: Where is she now?
Dr: She left saying she had some urgent work.
Saying so, Dr. Shekhawat left leaving everyone dumbstruck. Aryan and kabir was confused of Riddhima’s behaviour. And all other was stunned at what doctor said. Everyone was thankful to Riddhima and somewhere feeling guilty for behaving rudely with her. Sia, sejal and ishani shared a group hug. Everyone was relieved to know that Dadi is fine now. Out of all, Vansh was in his own world. The feelings of guilt, pain, thankfulness and peace were occupied in his heart. Somehow, Without saying anything, without showing herself, she completed both his wishes….Her absence and Dadi’s health. Vansh had wished for both and she fulfilled them. Everyone was silent when Sia broke the trance,
Sia: We should Thank Riddhima. She gave all of us a new life today by saving Dadi. Kabir! Please call her. She is not picking my phone.
K: Yeah I am calling her but she is not picking.
A: I checked her cabin. There is no one there.
Sejal: But why is she not showing herself. Why is she not picking calls if she was here.
Sia(eyeing Vansh): Because someone asked her to stay away from our family untill dadi gets fine. She fulfilled everyone’s wish today. This was not right Bhai!
Vansh was already occupied with guilt and Sia’s words made him more guilty. Kabir was trying calling her, finally she picked. Sia asked her to put the call on speaker.
R: Yeah kabir?
K: Where are you Riddhima? I have been calling you for hours.
R: I was busy.
K: When are you coming back? Everyone is waiting for you here. Are u ok?
R: I am not coming. I am going to Delhi. I have some work. Will be back in some days. Its ab….
S(cutting her): Riddhima! I am sorry on Vansh’s Bhai behalf. And I am thankful for what you did for dadi today. Please finish your work ASAP.
Riddhima didn’t say anything. Kabir understood that she is not ok. He turned off the speaker and went to the corner to talk.
K: Is everything fine Riddhima?
R: Why the hell did you put call on speaker.
K: Sorry.. sia was worried for you.
R: Dadi’s is stable now?
K: Yes. But you are not. What happened why are you going to delhi. Is it because of Mr. Vansh?
R: Not at all Kabir. You think I would agree to his baseless deals? Never! Actually, I got some lead about the case. The informer is in Delhi. Moreover, Some pending arrangements of this mission are to be checked. Will be back in few days. Just focus on the mission and Take care of yourself and Aryan. Don’t worry about me. And….
K: I know. I will take care of them( RaiSinghanias) too. They will be fine.
