CHAPTER-7

(ANNIKA POV)

I got scared…scared as hell…never got this much scared ever in my life…never even before giving birth to her when I was in extreme pain…but Today I thought I’m going to loose her…It’s all my fault…I shouldn’t have left her alone…

Then I saw the same man whom I noticed a few minutes earlier jumped up in the pool and caught my baby eagerly in his arms…I just rushed towards them as they came out and engulfed my baby…

No I cann’t loose her..I can never loose her…She is the sole reason for my survival…If it weren’t for her…I would have been died long ago…

Before I could thank the person I heard Aarya speaking softly…

“Daddy!!!”

Listening to this my body stopped moving… my blood circulation stopped coz my heart stopped beating….Somewhere deep I knew Someday I would be facing him but I never thought even in my dreams that someday will be TODAY….

I looked towards the way my daughter was looking and I saw him, his saviour…who was similarly perplexed hearing what ‘Aru’ just whispered…

No I’m not ready…I’m still not ready for this…still not ready to look into his eyes and ask him why he did that with me…But it needed to be done…But not today …please god…

At last Our eyes met…

(SHIVAAY POV)

“DADDY???”

I was flabbergasted… I looked towards the little soul stirring in her mother’s arm while she called me softly…She was searching in my eyes while my breathe hitched up while looking into her eyes…exactly same replica of mine…same bluish orbs…and hair exact shade of mine…

Arnav tugged my hand but I looked towards the source of sound I just heard and my heart stopped…I gasped slowly…

The lady holding the girl was none other than Annika…My Annika…Love of my life…

Our eyes met…and the only thing I saw in hers was Hate…I was sure whenever I would see her I would see pain , anger but never thought I would see hate in those beautiful chocolate brown orbed eyes…

Arnav tugged my hand again…and I bended towards him while he spoke…

“Why is Aarya calling you Daddy! …dad???”He asked me all confused…

“Aarya?”I asked him while still looking straight towards Annika and the little girl in her hands…both of them also looking towards me while the whole world seemed to stop for us …

“Yeah she joined my school last week only…But why is she calling you dad?…Is she my sister?”He asked again…making both of us take in our breathe sharply…

“I don’t know”I replied genuinely… while Annika’s gaze shifted towards Arnav…she looked towards him and then me…and understanding dawned on her face…she looked towards me with accusing eyes…

“Annika! I…”before I could say anything she stopped me by showing her hand
while came forward and put her hand on Arnav’s head and patted a little…

“Just a mistake I guess…”She spoke softly to him…but with this whole demeanor of the little girl changed…along with people crowded around us…having keen interest in hot story “Why a little girl just called Shivaay Singh Oberoi as Daddy??”

But I don’t know after listening to what Annika said instead of getting relieved…my heart broke into million pieces…

Before I could say or ask further Annika walked away towards the changing rooms with Aarya still in her arms who was continuously staring towards me with something in her eyes I couldn’t figure out…but I certainly felt the strong connection and my eyes got welled up seeing her moving away from me…

Manager came almost running towards me apologizing and requesting not to take any action against them….while I refused to listen anything to him…”What if something happened to that little girl today?”…to Shivaay Singh Oberoi’s daughter…this thought suddenly crossed my mind…And my heart swelled with unknown and some uncertain happiness…

People around me slowly dispersed.. and I know this is not the right time to talk with Annika ….being our children with us….I have to wait…So I stopped myself Go barging in her Changing room…But one thing was sure I won’t let her go this time without hearing me….

I took Arnav to our room to make him change while I called Khanna…

“Khanna I need all the information relating to Annika by tomorrow…”I said to him..

“Sir! Annika mam Our Annika mam…I mean Ms. Annika Singhania…?”He gasped…

“Yes Annika mam…All about what happened in six years…”

“Yes sir”he said a little happily…like my family he also never liked Ragini and never able to give the position of her rightful mam to anyone else than Annika..

After changing Arnav and me sat in the car to come back to home…

(ANNIKA POV)

“Sometimes we just want to get lost,
Being so tired…
Not wanting to be searched,
Not wanting to be found…”

That’s how I felt after I left from there…From inside I was shaken up but for the sake of Aarya I put on a fake facade …Moreover I need to give damn answers for all of her questions…she was all unusually quiet in the car also…I know she was sad that I lied…but all the answers can wait I need to make sure she is fine first…

While making soup for Aru in the kitchen I thought about today…Today’s encounter was totally unexpected…moreover with his son besides him…made me teary eyed…I don’t envy the little boy nor his mother!..How could I?…..I just hate one person..Mr. Shivaay Singh Oberoi…

With a tired sigh I moved towards my daughter’s sorry little devil’s bedroom getting ready to face her wrath…afterall she got paternal genes too…

“Mom wasn’t he my dad?Wasn’t he Shivaay Singh Oberoi ?”She asked me as soon as I entered into the room…

I sighed “Yes he was…”

She got a little satisfied…

“Then why he didn’t recognise me …Is he coming to live with us?…So Arnav is my brother?….Why you never told me about Arnav?…You know he is in my school only…Can I meet them again?”….She kept on blabbering…

My eyes glistened…How to tell her that his father is having a family of his own with a wife and a son…with whom he is happy…though I didn’t saw his wife with him today But I know they must be living their lives as a happily married couple…

I didn’t want to give false hope to my daughter but promised her to make her meet him properly this time…With that she slumbered off…

Next day I woke up with sun disturbing my sleep and sound of shower running…

I looked towards the alarm clock on the table besides the bed…and abruptly got awake….

“Again late…..Aru has also waken up but not me…wow…Shivaay used to say right I’m seriously a Khumbkaran”I was blabbering and when Shivaay’s name came on my lips I knew at that moment I can never forget him…ever…

After dropping Aru to school I came to office in a rush not wanted to got late…

I was just settled in my cabin when I heard a knock on my cabin’s door…

“Come in…”I said a little authoritavely…

“Hello wifey!!!”

I gasped…
