My Lifesaver RagSan ff (Chapter 1)

GUYS. SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION CREATED BY ME IN THE LAST UPDATE. IT WAS RAGINI’S POV. I FEEL MISERABLE ABOUT THAT. SO SORRY!

••• CHAPTER 1 •••

SANSKAR’S POV

I got out of my car and ran across the huge parking lot to get inside the hospital. It was only my first week as an intern and I was already running late. I mean, it’s not my fault that I was but when my resident seems to be a monster, I had to do something to stay out of his sight before he feeds on me.

“Sanskar you’re late!!!!” He yelled as soon as I ran inside his office after getting changed into my scrubs.

I sighed. “I’m sorry, Dr. Adarsh. My neighbor’s daughter was going in for a cardiac arrest when I was leaving for work so I had to resuscitate her and keep her alive until the ambulance arrived.” I replied.

I was expecting him to roll his eyes at me and continue his lecture but to my surprise, he walked over to me, smiling.

“Is she alright?” He asked, concerned.

“She was stable when the medics loaded her into the ambulance. I’m not sure what happened after that.” I replied.

He nodded. “Good job.”

“Thank you…” I said, smiling.

I was shocked; he didn’t kill me or anything. I sure was glad I didn’t get in trouble. Maybe this made a good impression on him.

“I want you to do consultations for today. We’ll get you scrubbing in the next few weeks.” He said, smiling back.

I nodded. “Yes sir.”

With that he gave each of the interns their assignments for the day and well took off to our designated areas.

“Did you really save that little girl’s life?” Laksh, my fellow intern, asked in shock.

I nodded. “Yeah, I did. Why?”

“Just asking….” He replied. “He assigned you to do physicals again. Good luck mate.” He winked.

I chuckled, shaking my head. “What a pervert, you are.”

With that he headed the other way and I walked up to the nurse’ desk.

“Good morning, Nurse Mariyam.” I greeted the fairly old woman with a warm smile.

“Dr. Sanskar…” She grinned. “Aren’t I glad you’re here? We’re so booked up today.”

I smiled and nodded. “Not to worry, ma’am. Sanskar Maheshwari at your service.” I said as I chuckled.

She laughed. “You can go ahead, sir. I’ll have a patient ready for you.”

I nodded as I made my way to the consultation area.

RAGINI’S POV

I sat in the waiting room fiddling with my purse nervously.

I had a physical today. f**king physicals. It was actually my first full one and all I knew is that they were so booked up all I could get was a male doctor. I wasn’t sure what would be more uncomfortable, having a guy or a girl all up in my business.

I was pulled from my thoughts when the nurse called my name.

“Ragini Gadodia?” She asked looking around the room.

I got up nervously, grabbing my purse and followed her.

She set my chart on the outside of the door and opened it for me. “Dr. Sanskar will be with you momentarily,” she said before closing the door.

I practically groaned as I sat down on the examination table, dangling my feet off the edge as my heart raced.

I’d rather be sleeping in my bed right now. Or even at the library, reviewing my physiology and anatomy. But here I was, sitting in an examination room, waiting for some 50 year old man to give me a damn physical… gross.

I twirled a piece of my hair nervously while I waited.

Soon the door opened and in walked the most strikingly handsome man I’d ever seen in my life. He closed and locked the door before turning to face me with a dazzlingly gorgeous smile. “Good morning, Ms. Gadodia.” He looked up from the clipboard.

“Hi…” I muttered.

God he was attractive. Oh, what was I thinking? He was a god damned doctor for God’s sake.

And I was only his patient.

I closed my eyes for a second, reminding myself of the Hippocratic Oath.

He smiled. “I’m Dr. Sanskar, I understand that it’s a standard physical that you’re in for today?” He asked as he looked up at me.

My eyes met with his.

“Y-Yes sir…” I stuttered, nervously.

I wasn’t expecting such a young and attractive doctor to be doing my physical.

He smiled as he set the clipboard down. “There’s no need to be nervous, darling. You’ve had one before, yeah?” He asked as he walked over to the sink and washed his hands.

I shook my head. “I’m afraid not.” I replied, sighing. “It’s my first one.”

“Oh that’s fine, it’s nothing to worry about.” He set as he reached into a cabinet and grabbed a thin paper gown. “I’m gonna have to ask you to get changed into this.” He said as he handed it to me. “Strip completely. ”

I nodded as I bit my lip. “Okay.”

He smiled as he stepped out of the room for me to get changed.

I sighed as I got changed.

He’s a professional, he’s seen it all. I’m a professional; I know what he’s doing. I need to calm down.

Sanskar’s POV

I knocked on the door after a few minutes before walking back inside the examination room and locked the door. “I went through your file, Ms. Gadodia. It seems like you’re due a few vaccinations. Would you like to get them done for today as well?” I asked as I looked up from the clipboard.

Oh God, I forgot how see through those gowns were.

I closed my eyes for a second. Focus Sanskar, focus. You don’t wanna end up getting fired on your first month.

I cleared my throat. “You know, it’s better if you get them done now…” I said as I bit my lip.

She nodded. “Okay then…”

“I’m just gonna start off with the most painful part of the exam.” I said as I set the clipboard on the counter.

I could see the fear flashing in her eyes.

“That is checking your reflexes…” I informed, chuckling as I walked over to her after grabbing the reflex hammer. “Just relax your legs for me…”

She let her legs loose. “How old are you?” She asked. “If you don’t mind me asking…”

I tapped on her right knee and looked up, raising at eyebrow at her. “That’s an odd question.” I point out with a chuckled. “But I’m 22 years old. Is that a problem?” I asked as I tapped on her left knee.

“No, just curious.” She replied. “I hope you don’t mind me knowing your age, Dr. Sanskar. You didn’t see like a 50 year old man to be so…”

I looked up and chuckled. “Good because I’d hate for you to doubt my skills. And I can assure you that I’m certainly not a 50 year old man.” I said as I wrote down my findings on the clipboard. “Can you stand up for me?”

She smiled. “Age and skills are two different things. Why do you think I’d doubt your skills because of knowing your age?” She asked as she stood up.

I shrugged and placed a hand on her back, forcing her to stand up as straight as she can. “I get a few older patients in here who are concerned with my young age. They prefer an older doctor.” I replied as I grabbed my stethoscope and plugged the ear buds in my ears. “Deep even breaths for me please.” I said as I pressed the diaphragm against her chest.

She inhaled a deep breath, letting it out. “That explains it.”

I kept a straight face, listening close. “And again…” I said as I moved the chest piece over.

She inhaled again. “You must love your job, don’t you?”

I bit my lip. “I don’t understand people who don’t love their jobs. I mean, how can you devote your life to something you hate?” I pondered out loud.

She exhaled. “That’s a good point, actually.”

I smiled, pulling the ear buds out and threw my stethoscope over my neck. “Stay standing please…”

She nodded, biting her lip.

I smiled, making my way behind her after putting on some gloves. “Now this is one of those awkward moments, but if you’ll just excuse me and stand still…” I said as I slipped my hands under the gown and cupped her br*asts, to feel for any unusual lumps or what not.

She laughed. “You must really love your job, don’t you?” She repeated herself.

I furrowed my eyebrows and chuckled when I understood what she meant. “Well, you say that now but when your grandmother comes in, you’ll have a change of heart.” I teased.

“Oh right, I forgot the part where you have older patients as well.” She giggled. “But I sure would tag along with my grandmother if she was to come in.” She teased back.

I chuckled as I took my hands out. “That would be nice of you but you’d have to be sitting in the waiting room unless your grandmother is a child.” I teased again as I took off my gloves and threw them away. “You can sit down now.”

She sighed as she sat back on the examination table. “Do most of your young… female patients… ever flirt with you?” She asked, giggling. “I’m just curious.”

I chuckled and shook my head because she asked the strangest things. “You’re quite odd.” I pointed out with a wink so she knew I was only kidding.

“I will take that as a compliment…” She giggled.

“I’m glad because I meant it as one.” I replied. “And some do.” I confirmed. “But I have to remain strictly professional.”

She nodded. “I can see that you are. That’s why I’m not even trying.”

I grabbed the otoscope and turned it on. “Why Ms. Gadodia, are you inferring that you’d flirt with me if we were under a different roof?”

“Because you’re attractive?” She replied but it came out like a question. “I mean I respect your professional ethics and all. In fact, I have my own ethics. But sometimes when I see someone who’s as attractive as you are, I tend to flirt with them… depending on the situation that is.”

“Ah yes the situation is key!” I chuckled, checking both of her eyes. “Hmmmm.” I say as though I see a problem. “I don’t see anything that indicates your eyes troubles.” I informed. “I mean, there has to be a reason why you see me as attractive.” I grinned.

She laughed. “Maybe there is something wrong with my eyes but you just can’t see it since you got lost in them.” She said, giggling.

“Oh very cheeky.” I stepped away as I turned off the otoscope and put it back in its place. “They are very dangerous eyes, easy to get lost in.” I confirmed with a wink.

She shook her head, laughing. “We’re not flirting, are we?”

I shook my head. “Certainly not, Ms. Gadodia. I mean, we were only talking about that problem in your eyes that I’m unable to notice.” I chuckled, laying my hand on her back as I felt down her spine.

“Good because I’d hate for you to lose your job.”

“Well, I won’t as long as what happens in this room stays in this room.” I said as I wrote down my findings on the clipboard.

“I can promise you that, Dr. Sanskar.” She winked.

I chuckled, putting on a new pair of gloves after pulling up the stirrups. “Lay down and put your legs up on the stirrups for me.”

She bit her lip and nodded, laying back on the bed and propped her legs up on the stirrups. “You must really love you job.”

I rolled my eyes as I pulled the rolling chair over, sitting between her legs. “I’m a professional, sweetheart. I’ve seen it all.” I chuckled, hiking the gown up just above her abdomen.

“How many uhmsss (I hope you get it) have you seen slash touched slash poked around in your lifetime?” She asked, smirking.

I rose an eyebrow. “Quite a few.” I replied, chuckling. “Spread your legs, please.”

She bit her lip, spreading her legs wide and I tried not to lose my remaining professionalism.

“Relax love, I’ll try to be as quick as I can.”

She nodded, looking away from me.

I slowly slid my fingers inside her pelvis, using my free hand to palpate her abdomen.

“Oh god-” She whimpered. “Why do people have to go through this torture?”

I chuckled as I continued my examination. “Let me know if you feel uncomfortable.”

“I’m fine.” She mumbled.

“How you had intercourse recently?” I asked, looking up to meet her eyes.

She shook her head. “I’m a virgin.”

I nodded as I felt around for anything unusual but everything seemed fine. “Looks like you are not at risk of cervical cancer, which is a good thing.” I informed. “Since you’re a virgin, I don’t think you have any STI’s either.”

She sighed in relief. “Thank goodness.”

“You can go ahead and get dressed. I’ll be back with your vaccinations.” I informed as I got up, disposed my gloves, washed my hands and stepped out of the room.

RAGINI’S POV

What the f**k just happened? I wasn’t trying to flirt with him although it seemed like I did. But was he really flirting back? I mean, he could lose his entire career if someone found out what happened in this room. Of course, I wasn’t going to report this to Uncle Shekhar and ruin his career. But was he flirting back or what?

I tried not to wonder what was going on in his head when he was examining my pelvis. But he seemed quite professional about it.

I got changed back into my clothes as he returned.

“Alright, I just need to give you the shots and you’re free to go.” He informed.

I nodded as I rolled up my sleeve.

He put on a new pair of gloves. “Is there any chance you’re allergic to latex?” He asked as he wiped the edge of my shoulder with an antiseptic wipe.

I shook my head. “Nope…”

He nodded.

My eyes widened as he picked up the syringe and I gulped.

“Not a big fan of needles, huh?”

I shook my head.

“I’m just gonna have you looking away, you’ll feel a slight pinch.” He said as he prepped the needle.

I nodded as I turned away from him.

“Alright just take a deep breath for me…” He said.

I nodded and inhaled as I felt a pinch. “Ow!”

“All done..” He chuckled as he put a bandage on my shoulder. “You’re good to go, Ms. Gadodia.” He informed as he disposed the needle as well as his gloves.

I smiled. “Thanks Dr. Sanskar.”

“No problem…”

With that he walked out of the room and I followed him out, exiting the hospital.

I was supposed to be meeting up with Karan today.

Final exams were done so we both had two months off.
