My layered demeanour (Episode 20)

Hey guys. Thanks for reading, supporting and liking my story. It takes me around 1.5 to 2 hours to write one epi and after reading your comments, i feel really happy. Usually, i don’t introduce any actor as a character except the leads. But this time I wanted Shauraya to be in the display picture; so i thought of introducing him. i have imagined Vatsal Seth as Shauraya. Contrary to his image in his last tv outing, he’s out and out positive in my story. But you are still free to imagine any actor in his place.

PS I’m mentioning time in today’s epi so that you are all not left confused when you read the next episode and everything is not happening simultaneously.

The next day after their kidnapping;

(Shauraya’s pov)
6a.m.
I felt myself lying on the floor. I moved my hand as I placed it at the back of my neck, feeling an intense pain. I opened my eyes as I found myself in a dimly lit and confined room. I stood up with the hand still supporting my aching neck. My eyes fell on the note stuck on the opposite wall. I moved forward as I read the note:

WE DIDN’T WANT TO KILL YOU BUT YOU SAW ONE OF US AND NOW, BE READY TO BRACE YOUR DEATH.

The events of the past night started moving in front of my eyes. Surbhi was questioning Karan when I heard some ruffling sound. I turned back as I saw a man behind the bushes. He had a black cloth wrapped on his head. As soon as our eyes met, he ducked behind that place. I moved towards him and searched for him but was unsuccessful. I decided to look for him. I had moved a few meters ahead but decided to retreat. Suddenly, something hit my head and I lost my conscious.

And now, I was in this room. There was nothing in here not even a window. Enclosed from all the sides, there was just a door to escape. I moved towards the door as I started banging it hard. But it was all vain. Suddenly, I saw a gas entering the room from the creaks of the door. I lunged back towards the opposite wall as I quickly took out a handkerchief from my pocket and covered my nose. Death was so near with no way to escape from here.

8a.m.
(KVB’s pov)

I felt as if someone was banging on my head with a hammer. This headache would surely kill me. ‘I drank cold drink and after that…’ I shut my eyes more tightly as I tried recalling what had happened after that. But my luck screwed it up. I was unable to remember a single thing. It was as if I had lost my memory after that. I tried moving my hand but a force was pulling my hands down. I opened my eyes with a jerk as I saw myself tied to a chair with metal cuffs. I tried to free my hands but nothing seemed fruitful. What followed was more shocking. My eyes fell on my chest as I found a time bomb attached to it. I found something scribbled on the wall in front of me with the help of a spray can. I read out those huge words in red:

YOUR OVER-SMARTNESS HAS LED YOU HERE. YOU GOT TO KNOW MORE THAN YOU OUGHT TO KNOW. BE READY TO EMBRACE YOUR DEATH.

I exactly knew who was behind all this. ‘I will not leave you once I survive this,’ I muttered. This was the second time that he tried to kill me. I read the time indicated on the machine. 5 minutes to go. 4:59, 4:58, 4:57…….the time was decreasing.

(Surbhi’s pov)
9a.m.

I was standing somewhere but was unable to see anything due to this black cloth tied on my eyes. My hands were also tied. I literally had no idea as to where I was. I just felt that they were taking me somewhere, to an unknown destination. They had injected me once again before I gained conscious here. A hand pulled down the cloth from my eyes as it took me a second to adjust to my surroundings. He unfolded a paper in front of me as I read out:
IT’S PAYBACK TIME. I WANT YOU TO DIE A SLOW DEATH. LET’S SEE WHAT KILLS YOU FIRST: THE SLOW POISON IN YOUR BLOOD OR THE WATER.

He took out an injection as he tried injecting that poisonous fluid in me. I started moving effortlessly but the other man there grabbed my arm as they injected me. They closed the door as I, then, realized it to be made of glass. I looked shockingly all around me as I realized that I was enclosed in a glass chamber. Soon water started dripping in. I shouted out for any help but my voice was unable to cross this glass barrier. I started moving my hands in a hope that the rope would somewhat loosen up and I would be able to do something. The chamber was getting filled with water as it reached up to my ankles.

Thank you guys. And you are free to tell if you aren’t liking the plot or you seem the plot is dragging. I know it might be dragging but i cannot change my style of writing. but still i would like to hear from you.
