Late night ramblings of a solitary creature (intro)

“Good night!”, she said to the last friend online. Somewhere, deep down, she knew the ‘friend’ was only a temporary escape from the reality. She had started talking to a lot of people these days. Primarily because she wanted to get over the pain her only true ‘friend’ had given her just a few days back.

Sighing, Radhika got up. She knew what was going to happen next, and as if on cue, thousands of painful memories flooded her brain that very instant. Arjun would never ever contact her again. Everything was finally over. Though she had known the fate of their friendship all along, the suddenness of all of it still left her shocked.

“No reply, Arjun.” had been her last text to him. And Arjun had followed it like an obedient servant. He had never bothered her again, not knowing that what she said was diametrically opposite to what she actually intended : all she had hoped was for Arjun to understand his fault and apologise. But then, Arjun had never been someone who’d accept his fault. But this time, he had crossed all limits. Whoever knew that he would end his year old friendship for a fortnight old crush?
