The Last Chance (Several Shots)

Entry No. 1

4th Thursday of July 2015….

“Life tends to give second chances”

The first time when I had heard these words, I barely knew what their actual meaning was. But as Life gives chances, it teaches you what you miss when you don’t make the fullest use of that last chance. It is believed that there are three teachers, The Family, The teacher and The Life. While you get all the readymade knowledge from the first two, the latter teaches you once you get up and revive from a painful blow. I didn’t have the privilege of getting educated by the first two, so the third one certainly played it’s part.

And the third one when comes to action, takes away of you the bestest thing you’ve got to cherish. Mine was…..never mind. Let’s see to what I came across today morning.
Morning walkers are the boring people who get up early, at least that I used to think. I never knew that this perception would change and I’d end up being myself being one of those so called “boring” group of health and fitness freaks. But the fact that I saw something not so natural today was a bit shocking too, you see people hovering around the whole park taking numerous laps and sweating more than the pigs. In midst of all this commotion, a Lady sat quietly reading a book. Like who comes to a park meant for morning walkers to just read a book? It has been my habit to get hold of these unusual events, so went to her to find the things out.

That’s where I heard the top most sentence of this entry again in my Life, dear diary.

“Life tends to give second chances”
That was that. She read the book and saw me sitting beside her and narrated some of the events in that book. I felt some familiarity springing up and all that made the same impression I had caught some years ago. These years feel like eons. I might not be able to see that person any more. My eyes were just craving to have a look of that face. My mind hastened the video tapes of all the moments we had together and there was a quick get together of loveliest moments in my head. When I came back to the real world, saw the person looking at me with eager eyes. I have to know who she is, I said this to myself. For it’s not a regular phenomenon that you come across a person who instils some gone memories in your mind. On asking her name, I heard a seemingly familiar name, “Annika”.

“Annika”

This name reminded me of the sense of happiness I used to feel when I uttered a name matching to this. Since that moment, all the suppressed and repressed memories started sprouting and splashed my head like a soothing, cool fountain quenching a thirsty being.

Time to go to work dear diary, it’s nice narrating an event even to a non living being. Because the magic prevails.

Love,
Shivaay.

Hello friends, it has been long while since I wrote something. And all you people suggested Shivika to be the couple so here’s a story in the form of diary entries. Do comment on this and surely suggest things. There’s always a room for improvisations. I might be late in posting this but do read it.
Thank you.
