Scene 1:
Location: Sunder’s residence, Lahore
Kishori goes with heavy eyes, to granny and begs her to give him the strength so that he can carry the load of bearing the dead body of his own son, on his shoulders. the women wail grievously. Sunder’s final procession begins and he is taken out, ceremoniously and with full customs and rituals.

Scene 2:
Location: Graveyard, Lahore
Kishori meanwhile does the final rites, amidts the other male members, and then burns the body to ashes, as they all bid sunder a final, tearful goodbye.

Scene 3:
Location: On the roads, Amritsar
Meanwhile, lajo starts searching around for sunder, in every camp, distraught and berserk. She however eyes a well, and remembers how she had first met him there only, and

decides that this is the best way to end her life too. she gets up on the stairs of the well, to jump in. But someone stops her, by holding her hand. Lajo turns around and finds sunder with a bandage on his head, stopping her, while she is too shocked and stunned to react. They again re-iterate their first scene of their meet, but this time in a different context. She asks if its actually him, and he says that it is, and asks her what was she planning to do. She asks what would she have done, as he was presumed to be dead, and hence she decided to meet him in heaven, to fight with him. She forgives him with much attitude, and then asks whats the matter, and why is he so bruised. She asks whats going on. he tells how to save the muslim’s life, he gave him his identity and clothes so that he can escape easily. Meanwhile, Mohammad shawar gives him his identity card. the man thanks him profusely, that he helped him, despite hailing from other religions, and says that the country needs people like him, to protect the separation. they hug each other. Then the muslim walks off in his dress and attire. meanwhile, he gets manhandled by a hindu crowd of rioteers who think that he is a Muslim. They are about to slay him, when they find baraatiji engraved on his arm, that saved him. She hugs him hearing this. later, lajo tells him that she came to amrittsar searching for him. he then shows the tattoo as a wedding gift, and also the bangles and the dupatta that he brought for her from Amritsar. He then makes her promise that she shall never wear white again, as long as he is there, and she shall never stop wearing bangles and then helps her wear them. she terms them as her mangalsutra with each one, signifying her phear. She asks him to promise, that he shall never separate himself from her, even if she makes mistakes, like going to the market alone, and that every breath of hers belongs to him. he makes her promise that she wont take her life seriously as it belongs to him. She complies. he kisses her on the forehead. She asks him to come along, as at home, the hawankund and the mandap awaits their marriage.

Scene 4:
Location: Sunder’s residence, Lahore
Sunder and lajo get married, amidst the blessings of all the families, and granny compliments lajo’s immense faith that brought back sunder and the house’s happiness to them. She comments that the world shall remember their love story always. Amidst huge cheer and claps, they take the pious circles around fire. Jamaal watches them leeringly from a distance behind the pillar. lajo is scared to see him, and clenches her fists in sunder’s tightly. Sunder notices this and is boggled, while she is too scared, as he leeringly points out his wound at the neck, gazing him with his steely eyes. a tensed Sunder asks lajo whats the matter, while she stands stunned in fear. He keeps asking her, and then she shows him as he points towards jamaal. All eyes look at the pillar along with him, but they see noone there. she is herself boggled too. he assures her that there is nothing there, and asks her to take the last phera or else their marriage shall be incomplete. she smiles and gets to taking it, but she keeps remembering their past encounters that he detests, and finally their marriage culminates, while jamaal too takes the circles outside on the horse, along with the captive bird, thinking that sometimes even the inevitable happens, that brings forth whats unfathomable. She is super happy to see sunder, as they are pronounced husband and wife.

Later, as she shyly touches his feet, and pretends to be the ideal and dutiful wife, sunder is thoroughly amused, and asks what more of marital advise has she been given by her paternal aunt. she continues to tease him, saying that her aunt says that a real man knows how to control the wife, and then challenges him to try it on her. she runs away, while he follows her devilishly amused. then they try to consummate their marriage. he lovingly and romantically, with much endearance takes off the ornaments one by one, and then lays her on the bed, while getting atop her, as she shys away, much to his amusement. Later, as sunder lies spent and exhausted, Lajo gets up, shyly, giggling with excitement. The screen freezes on her smiling face.

ON ONE HAND, LAJO AND SUNDER WERE GETTING UNITED, AND ON THE OTHER HAND, THEIR COUNTRY WAS ON THE BRINK OF SEPARATION. AT SUCH A TURNING POINT IN THE DESTINY OF THEIR LIFE, WHERE THEIR MARITAL LIFE HAD JUST STARTED, FATE PLAYED A WEIRD GAME WITH BOTH OF THEM. IN THE BADAMI BAGH, OF LAHORE, WHERE ONCE, THE TEMPLE BELLS AND THE AZAAN HOLERS USED TO BE IN INTERACTIVE RESONANCE WITH EACH OTHER, TODAY THEY WERE AT LOGGERHEADS AND CONFRONTING EACH OTHER. RIOTS ENSURE AND LAJO WAS UNKNOWN THAT WHAT DESTINY HAS IN STORE FOR HER WAS INTERTWINED WITH THE FATE OF THE TUMULTOUS COUNTRY. SOMEWHERE THE STRINGS OF POLITICAL PROPAGANDA WERE PULLED BY THE COUNTRY LEADERS, AND SOMEWHERE THE FATE OF HER RELATIONS TOOK A TUMBLE DOWN THE ROAD TOO. THE QUESTION LEFT FOR PONDERING IS WHETHER WITH THE SEPARATION OF THE COUNTRY, LAJO’S LIFE SHALL BE PARTITIONED INTO TWO HALVES TOO…??

Precap: The ill fated night, when the lahore city was engulfed in the flame of riots, there Lajo was completely oblivious, basking in the glory of her new found love with sunder, shying with herself, one piece of hers belonging to sunder lal, and would one more belong to Jamaal, and would lajo’s life be undergoing partition into two too???
