Chapter 9

Many weeks had passed, Sayyam stayed at our house and helped my mother. He was so loving, supportive and protective, he treated her like his own mother.
I would watch them both from the porch. Every morning they would sit in the front garden chatting and laughing. Ma enjoyed Sayyams company, she enjoyed spending time with him and I think he did too. I would find myself smiling while watching them. I haven’t seen Ma so happy and laugh so much in a long time. For so long it has just been the two of us, she didn’t have the company of anyone else.

In the evenings I would sit at the balcony outside my room reading my favourite romance novels. I would see Sayyam sat outside in the front garden. I would watch him play with Tiger, our neighbours pet dog. He seemed so different to when he arrived in India. He had such a soft and calm nature. Although he still had a temper, he would only show it to protect the ones he loves. So much was hidden beneath that cold exterior. I noticed there were so many layers to Sayyams personality which made me more curious and wanting to find out more.
After watching him a few days, I decided to sit with him every night when he sat outside in the garden to get to know him better.
At first he was very reserved, he wouldn’t really respond, we would sit there in silence and when he did respond he was abrupt. As the days went by he started to open up and show his real personality.
I noticed how happy he was around Tiger. I was afraid of dogs but slowly I overcame my fear with Sayyams help. He made me understand that Tiger is no different to us, he also wants to be loved, he just expresses his feelings in different ways.
Not only did he look after my mother but he looked after me too. He would take me wherever I needed to go, he even started to help me learn how to drive.

He became an important part of our life.

It was the end of a long day, I sat on the sand at the beach thinking about how Sayyam had changed since he came back from India. From when we met in the lift at the Airport to now where he had become an important figure in my life.

It felt like my whole world was shifting, something had changed. I would feel a strange feeling in my stomach every time I would see him, a tiny smile from him is what I would crave from him every day.

I gazed at the sky watching the sun fall below the horizon. The sky was a beautiful blend of pink and orange. I closed my eyes and felt a cool breeze on my face. I could hear the gush of little waves of the ocean and feel the warm sand between my toes. For the first time in a long while I felt so happy and relaxed.

I opened my eyes and I noticed a figure walking in the distance. My eyes were fixated, I couldn’t keep my eyes off him. He was walking slowly along the sand, deep in concentration. As he got nearer to where I was sitting I found myself admiring him. He was tall, with a toned, muscular physique, he was wearing a thin white short sleeved shirt with the buttons open. I couldn’t see his face properly because of the glare of the sun. His thick black hair was blowing in the breeze in front of his eyes and he pushed it back with his fingers.

He looked at me. He noticed I was looking at him and he started to walk towards me. I felt my heart racing faster and faster with every step he took towards me. He was coming closer and closer.
I gently rubbed my eyes, was this a dream? This felt so real. He was still walking towards me. I pinched my arm to check if this was a dream.

This was my dream turning into reality.

The closer he got, his face began to slowly get clearer.
The glare from the sun was affecting my view, the view of my ‘dream guy.’ My heart was racing faster and faster. The closer he got I felt a tingling sensation creeping throughout my body.
He stopped walking and stood in front of me. I put my hand above my eyes to try and block the glare to get a clearer view of him.

He put his hand in front of me. I was in a daze, I had completely lost myself, it was as if I was cast under his spell. I held his hand. He pulled my hand to help me stand up. He took a step closer to me, I closed my eyes. I could feel him come closer to me, he was so close that I could feel his every heart beat.

This is him. He is ‘The One, my ‘dream guy.’ I have never felt like this with anyone.

I slowly opened my eyes. At first it was a blur. I blinked a few times, he took a step closer blocking the sunlight.
Now I could see his face clearly.

It was him.

I felt numb, I was completely stunned. I didn’t expect him to be my dream guy.

Sayyam?? Sayyam is my dream guy??

I was speechless, I was lost for words.

‘Krishna?’ He said in his husky deep voice. I felt weak at the knees, I couldn’t hear anything, I was in complete shock.

‘Krishna, are you ok?’ He asked. He kept calling me. I completely froze.

‘Krishna.’ He repeatedly called my name. He put his hands on both my arms and shook me gently. I came out of my trance.

‘Hey, are you ok? Your arms are cold. Come on, let’s take you home.’ He said gently in such a caring manner.
He pulled me close. He rubbed my arms to make me feel warmer. I kept on looking down, I couldn’t face him.

He put his finger on my chin and lifted my face to look at him.

‘You ok?’ He whispered. I slowly nodded my head. He smiled. He turned me round and put his arm around my shoulders and held me close. We started to walk ahead when someone stood in front of us.

‘Hey guys, I knew I would find you here! I’m back!’

I looked up. If this situation couldn’t get anymore complicated, it just did.

Yuvan is back…

Precap- Yuvan tells Krishna he wants to be with her.
