Kriyam FF – True Love (Chapter 11)

Chapter 11

It was the next day, I was ready and packed for the weekend away at Golu’s house. I needed a break, these unexplained feelings have been driving me crazy.
I heard the sound of a car horn. It was them. I went outside, I gave Ma a hug and walked towards the car struggling with my suitcase. Yuvan was talking to Ma while I was trying to drag my suitcase through the front garden to the car.
I suddenly felt someone’s hand on mine. I felt that tingling sensation again in my body. I looked up, it was him. He took my suitcase from my hand. He looked at me with a serious expression. I watched him as he started walking towards the car.

‘I thought you weren’t going Sayyam?’ I asked confidently.

He stopped walking and turned to face me.

‘I didn’t have anything else to do.’ He said.

We stood there looking at each other for a few minutes when I heard footsteps towards us.

‘Hey Sayyam, come on.’

I looked behind Sayyam, it was Baby. Her presence makes me so angry.

‘Oh hi Krish!’ She said smiling at me.

‘It’s Krishna to you.’ I said sternly.

Sayyam gestured at Baby to go back to the car.

‘Is she coming with us?’ I looked at Sayyam with my eyebrows raised.

‘Yuvan and Golu asked her to come along.’ He responded.

We walked to the car. Yuvan sat at the front with Golu as Yuvan was driving. He told me to sit at the back with Yuvani, Sayyam and Baby. He could tell I didn’t want to and explained that he was driving so he needed Golu to give directions.

I sat in the car next to Sayyam, he was sat in the middle with Baby and I sat on either side of him.
During the journey I found Baby really annoying. She kept on laughing and chatting to the boys. They loved listening to her compliments to massage their egos. She had her hand on Sayyams knee the whole journey. She kept on reminiscing about all the good times they had together. Sayyam was loving the attention he was getting. Her every touch got me more and more agitated. I looked out the car window to stay calm and slowly I fell asleep. I woke up a while later to find my head tucked near Sayyams neck. I quickly moved away looking at him, he looked at me too. I felt so awkward that I had slept on him and he didn’t say a thing.

A few hours later we arrived at Bhavna Aunty’s house. She was so happy to see us, she hugged us all one by one.

‘If it isn’t my favourite nephew.’ She held Yuvan tightly.

‘And this is the beautiful Krishna.’ She said to me.

She walked over to Sayyam with a smile.

‘And you must be Sayyam, long time no see! I remember the 3 of you playing together and especially Sayyam picking on Krishna all the time!’ Everyone laughed. Sayyam and I looked at each other uncomfortable.
Bhavna Aunty showed us all our rooms. We all got changed and went for a walk around the area. Bhavna Aunty wanted to show us around.

Everyone walked ahead while I walked behind. It was such a beautiful, quiet and isolated area. We started walking through the woods. Everyone split up to have a look around as it was such a big area, I was meant to go with Sayyam and Baby but somehow she took him another route leaving me behind.

Before I knew it, I was lost. It was getting dark and had started to rain. I started to panic. I ran looking for everyone else. My heart was racing, I felt suffocated, I was so scared. A few hours had passed, it was pitch black, it was difficult to see anything. The rain had started to pour down and the temperature had dropped. Before I knew it, I had collapsed. A while later, I started to gain consciousness, I heard a voice from a distance. My vision was blurred, I felt drowsy. I thought I could hear someone calling my name. The rain was getting heavier.

I felt someone lift me in their arms. I rest my head on their shoulder and closed my eyes, I felt so tired. I heard the voice again calling my name, it was very familiar.
I opened my eyes, my vision was still very blurry. I blinked several times but still couldn’t see who was carrying me. I struggled to keep my eyes open.

‘Stay with me Krishna, stay awake.’ I heard him say anxiously.
He eventually took me to a small derelict building for shelter from the heavy showers. He sat me down, he held my chin and fed me some water from a bottle. He sprinkled some water on my face. I opened my eyes and looked at him. I wanted to see the man who saved me. Slowly my vision was clear, it was Sayyam. I thought I was hallucinating. I tried to speak but no words would come out.

‘Shh, it’s ok, don’t speak, you’re really weak.’ He said as he gently stroked my hair.

‘Are you ok?’ He asked softly. He moved a few strands of hair away from my face and tucked them behind my ears. I was shivering from the cold temperature and my clothes were soaked from the rain. My dress was drenched and the open back made me feel even colder. He got a blanket out from a bag and wrapped it around me to keep me warm. He got up and started looking for ways to start a fire.
I looked around the room. It was very dark and dingy, completely empty with just a few rocks and blocks of wood. The walls were broken, there was no door and rain was leaking into the room.

A while later he managed to light a small fire. He came over and sat next to me. I still felt very weak.

‘Why did you go off on your own? Everyone was so worried about you’ He said gently.

‘Including you?’ I asked softly.

He looked at me and paused.

‘Um.. Yuvan was going crazy looking for you.’ He said, without trying to make eye contact.

‘Then why isn’t he here instead of you?’ I asked. He didn’t have an answer, he ignored my question and gave me a bottle of water. He noticed I had a cut on the bottom of my leg near my ankle which was bleeding. He kneeled on the floor. I watched as he tore a small piece of my dupatta and wrapped it around my leg to stop the cut from bleeding.
Every gentle touch of his fingers felt like a surge of electricity running through my veins.

‘Once the rain calms down, we will find our way back to Golu’s house.’ He said as he stood up. I watched his every move. I thought to myself why didn’t Yuvan come looking for me, why Sayyam?

Being around him made me feel nervous and uncomfortable. He stood against a pillar with his arms folded, watching the rain.

I slowly tried to stand up but I struggled as I felt weak. I could feel myself falling back but he rushed over to stop me falling. He tripped and fell on top of me as I fell on the floor. His body lying on top of mine. He shielded me with his arms so I wouldn’t get hurt.
His face was next to mine. He lifted his head slightly, his face was in front of mine, the tips of our noses touching. Little drops from his wet hair fell on my face. My heart was racing, I could feel his beating fast too. I looked deep into his eyes, his eyes sparkling with the light from the fire. As he got up, he didn’t let go, he held me in his arms, our faces inches away from each other’s. We stood up. Our eyes were still locked on one another’s. He gently caressed my cheek and then my lips with one finger. I had lost control, I felt a rush through my body. My heart was completely taken over. I turned away with my back facing him. The blanket fell down. I could hear him step closer, I felt his warm breath at the back of my neck, my heart began to beat even faster. He held my left hand and entwined his fingers with mine. He slowly stroked my bare back with one finger from the top of my back to my waist. I felt a spark run through my body, I closed my eyes feeling his every touch. He put his right arm around my body, holding my stomach. He pulled me against his body and held me tight. He turned me round to face him, my wet hair hitting his face.

He leaned closer to me, our lips nearly touching. I closed my eyes and moved my lips closer to his. My lips gently brushed against his. I had lost complete control of myself. I didn’t know what was going to happen, but what I did know was he is where I wanted to be right now.
Our lips were about to meet when I heard voices and running footsteps outside. I quickly pushed him away.

‘There you both are!’ Golu and Yuvan rushed over to us. I stepped away from Sayyam breathing heavily trying to catch my breath. It was as if I had come out of a trance.

‘Krish, I was so worried about you.’ Yuvan held me tightly. Yuvan put my arm around him to support me while walking. It was cold and wet, the rain was still pouring heavily. My mind was occupied. Flashes of what had just happened were flying around in my mind. If Yuvan hadn’t turned up I don’t know what would’ve happened. I felt like I had lost complete control of my body, all I could see and focus on at that time was Sayyam. It was as if I was cast under his spell and I let myself be taken in by him.

His presence makes my heart feel weak, but his touch makes my heart feel complete. I felt something I had never felt before. I have never felt like this with anyone.
All I know is his eyes and his every touch makes me feel alive…
