Kamalanayani – an Untold Character of the Great Epic. (Episode 8)

Note: I have planned to make this series more interactive with the readers. Each episode will end with a question like it ended in the last episode. I hope it helps to create more interest and interaction among the readers.

I hope you might have tried to find the incident which made her unable to attend her archery classes. I also received a reply from one of the readers that, the incident is Kurukshetra war. That was a nice try. But, unfortunately that is not the correct one. Now in this episode, I will reveal that incident.

As I said in the last episode that she learnt the basics of archery in the very short time of one month and was ready to learn divyaastra by that time. After that, she got to learn about the divyaastras for 2 weeks. But the next day, that incident happened. Because of that incident, she was not only able to attend her divyaastra shiksha but also, the whole family celebrated that incident. She was not allowed to come out of her room for few days. Some of you could have identified it. Yeah… this is gonna be a little mature fact.

OK OK…. No more suspense. That incident was that, Rajkumari Kamalanayani attained her puberty. (I thought that no one would guess it). But anyway, she is in her human form, so she had to go through all these as every woman/girl has to cross this anyway in her life.

That day was a Poorna-Pournami (Complete full-moon day). And a few star constellations (which I actually forgot) which were considered to be very auspicious.

But the royal-purohit, said the following message only to Lord Krishna but not to anybody else that “Your daughter and the eldest princess of our Kingdom, is a very auspicious girl. She is precious for the whole family as well as for the kingdom. She will make everyone around her to the mood she is. If her life is surrounded by happiness, then everyone will feel that effect. But incase, if her life is surrounded by sorrow, then the whole royal-family of Dvaraka and the family she had to get married will experience that effect. As, she is showing her most affection to you (her father), your karmas will affect her the most. But there is currently no problem for her marriage. But it seems like, one of her karma in the future may yield a problem. So it’s better to get her married soon”.

Lord Krishna understood that fact and he knew it already too. After the proper protocols were done. Lord Krishna expressed his desire to conduct a Swayamvara for Kamalanayani to Mata Satyabhama. She felt that it was too early. So, let us wait for a few months.

After that, Kamalanayani did not continued her archery classes. She knew her interest for archery. But, she was like…. It was an unexplainable feeling which could be understood.

She started to develop a feeling for Rajkumar Abhimanyu in her heart. She was curious to know more about him like his favorites from his close companion and her elder brother Rajkumar Pradyumna because she did not want to get caught… She felt so shy to talk with Rajkumar Abhimanyu and even if someone speaks about him too. She was unable to be as casual as she was, a few weeks earlier. She told to herself that, She is in love with him. She even started to talk with the Moon, thinking that he is from Chandravamsa, so her thoughts might reach him. She also began to be close to Mata Subhadra than before as she is her future Mother-in-Law.

Lord Krishna also noted the new movements of his daughter.

According to him, he wanted to guide his daughter in a perfect way and land her life in a safe place which she loves the most. He did not want to hurt her feelings and taking her life against her will. Just as each father, it is just the sign of his affection and responsibility he had to his daughter.

So, first of all, he wanted to know about her dream and in what way she wants to make it true. So, that evening, he met his daughter personally in her room and asked her opinion about arranging a Swyamvara for her. This shocked the princess as she was unable to convey her heartfelt feelings to her father because she was a bit afraid about how he will take it. So she asked a few days time to think about it as it matters her life. Lord Krishna accepted it. But before leaving he added that, “My dear daughter, Keep in mind that I am your father. That is my duty before being the King of Dvaraka. And you are first of all, my daughter before being the princess of Dvaraka. But in this matter, it requires us to think in the point of view of both father-daughter and King-Princess. And I know that you are more closer to me than your mothers. Hiding something forever in your heart is impossible for you also. So, whenever your heart wants, tell me… I am here as your father, to make your dreams come true….”

Kamalanayani understood that her father found something is in her heart and she is hiding. She asked him, “Pithashree, do you think that I am eligible for marriage now itself. I am so young. I just know only to be a daughter, but not as a daughter-in-law or a wife. Don’t you think it’s so early….”

He replied “The early bird catches the worm. The earlier you step out of your imaginary barriers, the more you will explore… Hope you understand.

But she asked him that, “Pithashree, a girl’s wedding makes changes in two families, but a princess’s wedding makes changes in two kingdoms, two vamsas & etc… But….”. Lord Krishna said “Don’t ask anymore questions to me… But ask them to yourself, I meant to your Atma – your force…. Ask them to your inner peace – your power…. Ask them to the one in your heart – whom your heart longs for….”.

Kamalanayani was shocked that Lord Krishna found even who is in her heart. She simply blinked in surprise and a drop of tears fell out her eyes.

He also said her that, “Stagnant water and stagnant feelings worth for nothing. They go simply wasted. Don’t let yours to be like that..”. She said “Pithashree…”. Lord Krishna simply blinked with a smile and left. He knew that, it is enough for her daughter to understand and which will make her to proceed.
