Kajal Pisal opens up on her track ending abruptly in Sasural Simar Ka 2; says, “I am disappointed”

Actress Kajal Pisal who was recently introduced in Sasural Simar Ka 2 as a chudail is disappointed about her track ending abruptly in less than a month. Apparently, her role failed to impress the audience. The actress talked about it in a recent interview and shared, “We can never predict the longevity of the track, especially when it’s a cameo appearance. The narration was different from what I eventually played. While I was told that I would be playing Charulata, who rises from the dead, on the set, I was told that I would be portraying a chudail. I am a professional actor and couldn’t have walked out from the set saying ki kya bola tha aur kya karva rahe ho. So, I gave my best and finished the track. TV shows work on ratings, and stories change every Thursday. So, I wasn’t expecting much from this, but if they had delivered what was promised to me toh aur achha ho jaata.”

Talking about her reservations about wearing grey hair, she said, “Grey hair appeared out of nowhere. That’s when I put my foot down and said I couldn’t continue. They also realized that what they offered me wasn’t what I was doing. So, they respected the fact that I was not comfortable sporting a grey patch and removed the grey hair and the corresponding look from the track.”

She added, “I have done many shows with Rashmi ji (producer Rashmi Sharma) and always had a good experience. Ek aadh project mein aap dissatisfied ho jaate ho. So, I am a little disappointed, but I know that ratings supersede everything and govern all decisions. Phir jab shows teen mahine mein band ho rahe hain phir yeh toh track hai (laughs!). This could be my shortest stint, but I realized I could play characters that demand me to be loud.”

When asked about the challenges in portraying the role, Kajal shared, “You are mentally prepared to play a character assigned to you a certain way. However, I was told to play a chudail, which I hadn’t signed up for. I was required to use loud gestures and voice and that took a toll on my health. I lost my voice for a few days. I guess you can give your best only when you are prepared for it. Surprises aren’t always pleasant (laughs!). It was challenging, and I put in a lot of effort to play the part. However, I am glad that the hard work paid off, as my director and the producers appreciated my efforts.”
